Overview
Piers are shoreline platform pieces that extend flooring out over water. Windrose offers 5 pier pieces used to build docks, waterside paths, and approaches to a Wharf. They sit alongside the other Building Pieces in the construction menu but are the only category that can be placed on top of open water.

Pier and Wharf
Piers are a structural piece and must not be confused with the Wharf station. Piers are building blocks (like Floors and Foundations) used to extend a platform over water. The Wharf is a craft station that goes on top of a pier and lets you repair and customize ships.
The typical naval-base layout: Bonfire and Tent on land, pier pieces stepping out over the water, then the Wharf station at the end of the pier within Bonfire range. The Shipwright's Workshop can be added inland or on the pier itself depending on your space.
Construction Notes
Placement: each pier piece snaps to the edge of an existing pier or shoreline foundation and previews as a silhouette before you commit the materials, so you can plan the full run before spending any Wood.
Dismantling a placed pier returns 100% of its build materials, so over-building and re-shaping a dock costs nothing but time.
Each standard pier piece has 1,500 max HP; the Pier Canopy is lighter at 1,000. Pier pieces share the structural durability model used by other Building Pieces, so keep a settlement claim active to protect them from decay while you are away.
A pier deck counts as floor space, so you can place a Roof or walls on it the same way you would on land, turning a long dock into a covered boathouse.
Tips
Pier pieces are the only structural pieces that can extend over water. Every shoreline build must start with a Pier.
The Wharf station requires both a shoreline placement and Bonfire range. Budget pier length accordingly to reach deeper water.
Pier decorations (Pier Crane, Pier Winch, Pier Flagpole) are unlocked separately from the pier structural pieces; see Pier Decorations.
Pier Canopy pairs with a Fishing Barrel and decorative rope coils for a full fisherman outpost aesthetic.
Large Pier is listed under Prebuilt Structures and places a full pier layout in one click; a good option for first-time settlement builders. See Prebuilt Structures.
