Naval Tactics III: Stretch the Supply is one of five Naval Tactics combat orders you can equip in a ship's tactics slot. A long-standing naval practice emphasizing careful rationing and strict issue. Properly husbanded stores are said to keep a ship effective long after others are spent.

Increases consumable duration: Repair Kits by 30%, Grog by 200%.
Every ship class accepts Naval Tactics, and this tactic specifically fits all nine Brig, Frigate, and Ketch hull variants in the game, so the choice of tactic never restricts which hull you can equip it on.
Buy Naval Tactics III: Stretch the Supply from the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Level 3 reputation with the Smugglers of Port Royal faction. The purchase costs Piastre x500 per copy, and a single copy unlocks the tactic permanently for that character.
Reaching Smuggler reputation Level 3 typically goes through the Smugglers of Port Royal faction quest chain and ongoing Bounty Agent turn-ins. See the Faction Reputation article for the full reputation-per-activity breakdown. Each of the five Naval Tactics carries the same Level 3 requirement and the same 500 Piastre price, so order of purchase is a budgeting and playstyle question rather than a progression gate.
Stretch the Supply is the extended-expedition pick. The +200% Grog duration effectively triples how long each Grog lasts, and the +30% Repair Kit duration stretches every consumable you burn on long voyages. A strong choice for trade-route runs, group expeditions, and any session where docking to restock would cut into play time.
The duration boost applies to consumables you have already drunk or deployed, so it is most valuable when paired with a long pre-fight buff routine. The numbers below assume the standard 30-minute Grog window and a fresh Repair Kit.
Consumable | Base Duration | Bonus | With Stretch the Supply |
|---|---|---|---|
30 minutes | +200% | 90 minutes | |
base kit duration | +30% | 1.3x the base window |
Tripling a Grog means a single brew session can cover most of a play session, which is the main reason this tactic is the standard pick for traders and long expeditions. It pairs naturally with a damage Dead Eye Grog on boss runs or a Hard Grog on attrition fights, since the longer the buff lasts the fewer brewing trips you make. The Grogs overview covers which drink to pick for each fight.
Because the bonus is duration rather than potency, Stretch the Supply does nothing for a fight you enter without a consumable already running. Drink and repair before you commit, not mid-broadside.
Combat orders slot into a dedicated ship Naval Tactics slot at the Wharf. Only one tactic is active at a time, so swapping tactics requires docking and entering the Wharf equipment screen. Tactics stay equipped across logouts, zone transitions, and death; you do not have to re-slot them after each session.
