Hull Bracings (in-game category: Ship Hull Modification) are the defensive plating items that fit a ship's dedicated hull-mod slot. Windrose currently has one Uncommon base bracing plus three Rare modded variants, each of which ascends to an Epic tier via Tumbaga Ingot.
Every bracing fits every hull variant, so the choice is purely about playstyle and plan budget. All three Rare plans are sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Level 2 reputation for Piastre x300 each.

Each Rare bracing requires its corresponding recipe paper to unlock. All plans sit on the same Smuggler reputation tier:

Base Hull bracing: First bracing to craft. No plan paper needed. Keep one on every hull until you unlock a variant you prefer.
Keelhold: Pick when repair uptime is the limiting factor. The Rare tier protects Repair Kit duration from combat damage; the Epic tier adds 30% kit duration on top. Strong in long 1v2 and 1v3 fleet engagements.
Iron Resolve: Pick for tank builds that fight at low HP on purpose. The Rare tier scales damage resistance up to 25% as health drops, peaking at 30% HP; the Epic tier adds a 30% Repair Kit effectiveness multiplier.
Standfast: Pick for skirmishers that take frequent small hits. Builds stacks over time (5 at Rare, 8 at Epic) that each absorb one incoming hit at 25% reduction for 3 seconds.
Every Rare bracing can be ascended to Epic rarity at the Shipwright's Workshop by combining the base Rare bracing with Tumbaga Ingot x7. Ascension does not consume a new plan paper and does not reset item level, so aim to ascend an already-upgraded Rare bracing rather than a fresh craft.
