Monsters & Memories publishes its patch notes as a dated archive on the developer's account portal. As of September 21, 2026 the archive holds 42 entries, running from version 0.20.25.0 (the Beta Pre-Patch of February 25, 2026) to version 0.30.0.1 (Module 1 Hotfix 1 of September 19, 2026). Every entry describes the Closed Beta build. The game has not launched: Early Access is scheduled to open on October 1, 2026, and the Closed Beta is scheduled to end on September 24, 2026. Nothing on this page should be read as a promise about the launch build unless the note itself says it carries forward; a fact that was true in Beta Patch 6 may have been reverted by Beta Patch 10.
The numbering follows a visible pattern in the archive. From 0.21.0.0 onward, each step in the second number is a numbered beta patch (0.21.0.0 is Beta Patch 2, 0.29.0.0 is Beta Patch 10), and the trailing numbers mark hotfixes and balance patches inside that version. Beta Patch 0.30.0.0 (September 19, 2026) is labelled Early Access Patch + Module 1, which is the developer's own label for the build carrying Descent into the Deep into the launch content set. The narrative of how the game reached this point is on Development History; this page is the change log.

Summaries by major version
Each summary below covers the systemic changes only: rules, systems, economy, world access and the shape of the class updates. Per-class numbers live on the individual class pages under Classes, and the fine detail of any single note is in the archive itself. Patch dates are given so that a later reversal can be placed against an earlier change.
0.20.25.0 Beta Pre-Patch (February 25, 2026) and 0.20.25.1 (February 27, 2026)
The pre-patch that opened the Closed Beta reworked itemization across the board: weapon damage ratios and armor class values were corrected to match rarity and source level, armor class was shifted toward shoulders, head and shield slots and away from belts, capes and rings, two-handed weapon ratios were made to scale consistently against one-handed weapons, and all stat contributions were cut by 25% to leave headroom. Regional account-shared bank slots were set up for bankers in Szuur and Calafrey, banked currency became regional, recovery bankers stopped accepting deposits, and customs agents were introduced to recover items lost from disassembled or expired housing furniture. All pets gained innate dual wield at level 36 and double attack at level 20. Trait-granted abilities other than Hide and Sneak became skill-based abilities that sit on the hotbar without memorization. Unarmed damage was rewritten for the Monk and made to scale with level for everyone else. Shadow Knights, Paladins and Inquisitors were set to scale health at the same rate as Fighters, and ranged physical damage was moved to scale from Strength. The interface was rescaled for a 2560 by 1440 design target, chat gained right-click context menus, a profanity filter defaulting to on, account-wide ignores and group-wide corpse-drag consent, and a notification was added for gaining a cantrip slot. On the class side, the Archer gained Parry, Paladins and Fighters gained critical hits on their Might and Martial abilities from level 21, the Wizard lost Dual Wield in favour of a version that allows a staff in the off hand, and riding suppliers began selling a pack rigging for donkeys (see Mounts). The hotfix two days later made meditation award partial mana within a tick, raised minimum swim speed to 40% of run speed, and fixed a long list of mount inventory edge cases.
0.20.26.0 Beta Patch 1 (March 10, 2026)
A client memory leak was fixed and settings began writing to disk immediately. Players who die below level 5 and lose no experience became resurrectable. Property ownership was limited to one of each type per account (one house, one stall, one inn room; see Player Housing for how this was later overridden for beta testing). Necromancers and Shadow Knights stopped benefiting from negative Charisma and joined the other classes in wanting more of it. Charms against higher-level targets were made to break more easily. Blacktide Bay had its zone lines enabled and its safe point moved to the Evershade Weald side, Keepers Bight gained a shady merchant, an inquisitor trainer and fishing supplies, and the Night Harbor Garrison received population work. The Archer received four new abilities (Snaring Shot, Interrupting Shot, Oil Trap and Multishot), the Bard had its Siren's Call line fleshed out, the Shaman Consume line was given a 12 second cooldown with much larger mana and health values, and the Wizard's Seal of Magic began granting Mark of Magic on Evocation hits.
0.21.0.0 Beta Patch 2 (March 20, 2026)
Harvest nodes became locked for 10 seconds to the first player to harvest them. Housing gained configurable storage permissions, always-public market stalls, always-public areas such as patios and rooftops, and guild house conversion at a cost of 1 Platinum and 50% more upkeep, with each guild limited to one house. Customs agents were placed in Night Harbor, Evershade Weald, Keepers Bight and Shallow Shoals, region locked. The interface gained a colour blind option, an F10 cycle that hides the UI and then name plates, a dedicated mud tab, hotbar bank keybinds, a keybind search box and a glowing main menu button while a petition is unclaimed. A furniture wrench sold by carpenters was introduced. Sandstorms were shortened to 2 to 4 hours of in-game time from 8 to 16, and Night Harbor's sandstorms were toned down. On the balance side, weapon damage caps began scaling every level and factoring in delay and weapon type, player class stopped affecting weapon damage caps, enemy armor class began scaling consistently from 1 to 60, health per Stamina and mana per Intelligence or Wisdom went up while baselines went down, and existing hand-to-hand weapons became Monk only. Mount speed rose at all swiftness tiers while donkey swiftness was lowered to compensate. The Beastmaster and Ranger gained the Regeneration line, and the Wizard gained the Mana Missiles line, which requires an imbued staff, plus Wall of Force at level 40.
0.22.0.0 Beta Patch 3 (April 7, 2026)
Itemization, drop rates and item stats received another large pass. Hell levels were moved to 24, 29 and so on instead of 25, 30 and so on, with total experience unchanged. Spell interrupts were reformulated to weigh the amount of damage taken rather than the number of hits. Pets and mounts began receiving 200% of a food item's value instead of 125%, and hunger and thirst were changed so a player can force-feed by clicking food up to a satiation cap. Strafing on a mount was removed and mount turning speed was tied to Grace. The interface gained the HUD editor (through the /uiedit command), a unified settings menu, optional per-character keybinds, a social ledger and sortable group-finder columns, and quest NPC emotes began logging to the journal, bound to J by default. Music was added to the temples of Night Harbor and footstep materials to its West yard. Tinctures received additional tiers and experimental crafted magic equipment recipes were added.
0.23.0.0 Beta Patch 4 (April 21, 2026) and hotfixes 1 to 4 (May 3, 2026)
Zone stability and lag were the headline, and armor class was added to back, face and waist items that had little or none. Leashing was changed to a very limited and very large range: an NPC disengages if the player travels a significant distance away by running or gating. The speed boost from jumping was removed. Gating within a zone began breaking charm rather than carrying the charmed NPC along, and Dominate the Mind was capped at level 52 and made resistable. Mounts stopped reacting to attacks, gained a stabling distance check, began levelling while travelling behind their rider, and had their corpses persist for 7 days with expired corpses retrievable from a Stable Master for 1 gold. Backpacks and saddlebags became Leatherworking recipes and satchels and pouches became Tailoring recipes, and ore weights went up to encourage donkeys and mounts. Character creation was redesigned to show race and class descriptions, racial and class stat bonuses, deity information and a map of both surface and Deep start locations. Housing gained furniture recovery through the wrench, and transferring or converting a house stopped packing it up. Placeholder NPC names were replaced, Glass Flats Shard Bats became social, and an item named Mortician's Spade was renamed Grave Marker. The four hotfixes on May 3 covered a 4th key in Glinting Hollow (spelled Glimmering Hollow in that one note), Monk hand-to-hand damage, data persistence, stability and lag, and carried a known issue that boats were broken with Portal NPCs on the docks as the stopgap.
0.24.0.0 Beta Patch 5 (May 5, 2026) and hotfixes 1 to 10 (May 5 to May 25, 2026)
Health and mana regeneration per level went up, sitting regeneration was tied to Stamina and to the higher of Intelligence or Wisdom, and Bind Wound became a 6 second channel with a one minute lockout per target. Memorizing an ability stopped putting it on full cooldown: short cooldowns get a 5 second memorization cooldown and cooldowns over 30 seconds get 30 seconds. Beastmasters gained Kennel Masters (Handler Duskglint in Faelindral, Handler Terrem in Night Harbor) to store a pet while taming another. Owned houses began stopping food and water consumption and granting warmth of the hearth. Sunken Resort had its itemization finalized. Tell windows became tabbed. This patch also introduced innate PvP mitigation (10 to 35% on damage over time, 25 to 50% on attacks, abilities and other spells, scaling from level 1 to 60) and the first PvP level squashing, with a resist clamp of 85%. The ten hotfixes through May 25 adjusted PvP mitigation, let Bard mesmerize overlap with other mesmerizes, made Necromancer Leech effects undispellable, fixed house purchasing and guild box looting, chased a Beastmaster pet delevelling bug across four separate entries, and fixed a persistent zone crash caused by rotting dead mounts.
0.25.0.0 Beta Patch 6 (June 7, 2026) and its six follow-ups (June 9 to June 20, 2026)
The Archer, Spellblade, Druid and Wizard updates went live, with learned and memorized spells cleared for those classes. Shields were split into Buckler, Kite and Tower types with class limits. Enemy health from levels 10 to 50 was raised to address time to kill, Intelligence began scaling spell damage and Wisdom began scaling healing, both with level-based caps, and the level-based physical damage bonus was replaced by higher weapon damage ratios on items. Stealth and Sneak were redefined around a 120 degree front arc, with each level an NPC has over the player returning 10% of its aggro range. Diminishing returns dropped from 4 stacks to 3. Recipe scrolls could be sold by merchants, basic tinkering arrived to support Archer traps, and dust upgrading was disabled. The PvP ruleset gained most of its structure here: minimum level 4, level brackets, the PvPAggro, PvPFFA and PvPOptIn statuses, name and consider colours, anonymised tracking, a disabled /who option and a mutual-only friends list, plus global mitigation starting at level 20. Housing gained door locking with a House Key, private areas, dynamic upkeep and a 1 platinum plus upkeep cost for guild halls, and housing was moved into subspaces separate from the zone to stop furniture from causing lag. The June 12 balance patch moved Clerics, Druids, Shamans, Rangers and Paladins to scale ability damage from Wisdom. The June 17 hotfix re-enabled consignment containers and chat item links, routed consignment cancellation through customs agents, gave PvP guards three aggro conditions and required a manual cast for opting in, started PvP mitigation at level 10, and reworked the Druid's damage lines around a Winter theme; the same day a second hotfix fixed self-damaging abilities applying twice.
0.26.0.0 Beta Patch 7 (July 2, 2026) and hotfixes 1 and 2 (July 4 and July 14, 2026)
The Beastmaster and Rogue revamps went live, NPC abilities received a systemic rework with new ranged behaviour and gap closers, and regular earthquakes returned under new rules. Experience from kills went up to match longer fights, NPCs began fleeing at 10% health instead of 20%, and line of sight became required for /target, /assist and pet attack commands. Houses began renaming on transfer, inn rooms and market stalls stopped staying derelict for 7 days, and campfires and other placeables were banned inside all banks. The Faiths tab opened with devotion tiers replacing a devotion number, no ability yet to forsake a chosen god, and starting deities restricted by racial alignment. Wyrmsbane armor quests were disabled, Sunken Resort opened for testing as an underwater dungeon, Glinting Hollow began requiring its entry key quest, and raids, level-locked encounters and some spawns were deactivated while Pustulax Scepter drops stayed active. PvP statuses began persisting across zones and logins, PvPAggro was capped at 60 seconds with defenders receiving only 10 seconds per action, opting in gained a context menu, some guards gained new abilities while many lost summoning, and three PvP suppression volumes were added around the banks of Night Harbor and Faelindral. The July 14 hotfix let party members always see stealthed group mates, extended Deextinction to mounts up to level 39, allowed sitting while swimming, and let Glinting Hollow's key persist through death.
0.27.0.0 Beta Patch 8 (August 4, 2026) and hotfixes 1 to 3 (August 4 to August 9, 2026)
The Monk, Fighter and Cleric revamps went in. Fishing was refactored to roll multiple times per cast with rod and bait affecting the catch, all fish became cookable, cooked food began applying stat buffs, and common jewelcrafting was reworked around seven gems and required molds. A Do Not Disturb mode, chess and checkers boards in Night Harbor, a sense heading ability, mud action animations and idle fidgets arrived. Stealth detection ranges were set at a minimum of 7 metres rising to 17 with level difference. Outdoor buffs stopped working indoors or in dungeons, and NPC melee damage became fully mitigable by avoidance, armor class, dodge, parry and block after a compensating increase in base damage. Deity choice began affecting where a character can start. Weather was refactored, merchants gained the ability to change prices based on world conditions (first planned for a Night Harbor discount after Lord Ga'Duuz is killed), and earthquakes began spawning an additional boss. The Bone Construct room was revamped but not yet accessible, and raid NPCs stopped being locked to first to engage in favour of most-damage loot rules (see Named Encounters). Throwing daggers moved to the ammo slot. PvP combat other than duels was prevented on boats, the low-level hit bonus was capped near 15% at a 25 level gap, minimum resist chance rose to 1%, and dispels and purges in PvP became randomised. The August 7 hotfix added an error message for race, class and deity combinations with no valid start, and the August 9 hotfix fixed the Glinting Hollow entrance and lowered Circle of Healing costs.
0.28.0.0 Beta Patch 9 (August 20, 2026) and hotfixes 1 and 2 (August 22 and August 28, 2026)
The Shaman and Inquisitor revamps went in, with an NPC named Master Gedric at their guild halls to replace the spells in a character's first active spellbook once. Three encounters were redone and reactivated (Bone Construct, Pustulax and Lord Ga'Duuz), and Rothold and Fallen Watch were listed as new dungeons. Designers gained fine-grain weather control, quest flags for once-only and prerequisite quests, decoration-only NPCs, and spells that force a posture. Only one mount may be active in a zone. New housing was implemented in Night Harbor with a Dragon's head trophy as new furniture. Taunts gained PvP effects by class, and attacking a target already in PvPAggro stopped adding PvPAggro. Bank Crates became a Carpentry craft, recipe vendors were added for Blacksmithing, Leatherworking and Tailoring, and most recipes began requiring a purchased recipe item. The Druid gained Group Cure Poison and lost the shared Minor Heal line, and the Cleric gained Group Cure, a 60 minute Blessing of Devotion and Sense Magic at level 8. The August 22 hotfix made Pustulax reset on server reboot, let all instant abilities be used while moving, disabled the VSync setting, added a zone line from Rothold's Keep and Cave to Shaded Dunes, and introduced anchored tooltips toggled with F9. The August 28 entry is a single line of Fallen Watch updates.
0.29.0.0 Beta Patch 10 (September 10, 2026) and hotfix 1 (September 11, 2026)
The Deep, Module 1, was unlocked for testing: Deep Elf and Deep Gnome creation opened, Ail'vorith and the Underdocks became accessible, Rothold became reachable only through its Great Cavern Sea entrance, and Great Cavern Sea and The Blind Midden were stated to be outside this build. Deep Elves were told to switch to Deep Common if NPCs would not respond. A forced solo challenge mode was added, with all challenge modes together described as true HCSSF. Rotten corpse summoning moved to an Opportunistic Adventurer in every inn, and item-less corpses of level 30 and above began lasting a whole day (see Death Penalty). A new spellbook interface arrived, character creation gained a back button for re-picking a start location, and to-hit calculations were reworked so Dexterity stays relevant at high level. Mounts began requiring feed bought from riding suppliers, iron ore and coal got heavier to encourage hauling mounts, recipes were repriced by skill level, and the Red Mantle Quartermaster began selling reputation-locked recipes. Housing gained door customization and instanced inn rooms, and ownership caps were raised for beta testing only. Dispel Stones rose from 5 to 18 silver with a 45 second cooldown. PvP gained free-for-all volumes in Fallen Pass and Vale of Zintar, Fallen Watch and Grimtide Sanctum, suppression volumes in the Underdocks and Ail'vorith, a 96% hit cap and a diminishing returns rework. Hour-long mana buffs were cut to 35 minutes, single-target heals and their mana costs were reduced, and the Shaman and Enchanter melee slows were made cheaper and shorter. The Bone Construct, Pustulax and Lord Ga'Duuz encounters were retuned. The September 11 hotfix added reagent vendors and three challenge-mode NPCs to Ail'vorith, showed total server population at character selection, removed the Bone Construct's corpse-rot gate lock, and set all Bone Construct rewards to require level 49.
0.30.0.0 Early Access Patch + Module 1 (September 19, 2026) and 0.30.0.1 Module 1 Hotfix 1 (September 19, 2026)
Beta Patch 0.30.0.0 (September 19, 2026) is labelled Early Access Patch + Module 1. Charmed NPC damage was reduced for the Enchanter, Elementalist, Druid, Bard and Necromancer, with the Inquisitor exempt; for classes with a summoned pet the charmed pet remains at least 25% stronger than the summon. Most group buffs moved to spell vendors instead of research. Hide became stealth-based, so it works against undead, and mesmerize overwriting became a matter of duration rather than caster level. Character creation gained a deity view before class selection and an Early Access disclaimer on every new character. Deep races now default to Deep Common and every other race to Common Tongue, with the last spoken language saved per character. Ail'vorith's city population was activated with teleporter pads and starter quests for Shadow Knights, Rogues, Spellblades and Wizards, and the gates from Shaded Dunes into Caves of Irem began working. Alchemy elixirs began persisting through death, horseshoes and heavy saddles were added, and common crafted gear became a requirement for the experimental magic crafts. In PvP the diminishing returns window moved from 18 to 21 seconds, nameplates below the level 4 threshold turned blue, guild members gained a cyan nameplate, the pink roleplay colour was removed, and a ruleset option began enforcing Soulbind within suppression zones. Four Necromancer lines and the Ranger's Stinging Swarm stopped stacking multiple ranks from one caster. The same-day hotfix fixed the forsaken buffs in Caves of Irem, removed unintended threat from channelled damage, split Night Harbor in two as a test of the developer's split tech with shared chat across both halves, enabled a beta PvP rule allowing binding only in non-PvP areas, and granted extra Ail'Vorith City faction to anyone who held it.
Reading the archive
Three habits help when using these notes as a reference. First, later entries override earlier ones, and the archive contains outright reversals: the Bone Construct's gate was locked to its corpse rot on September 10 and unlocked on September 11, and the Druid's Mantle of Summer and Winter cooldown was set to 20 minutes on June 9 and 15 minutes on June 12. Second, the notes describe the beta servers, and several entries say so in their own words, from the housing caps marked as beta-only test values to the Night Harbor split marked as a test. Third, the archive occasionally varies spelling (Felindral for Faelindral, Ail'Vorith for Ail'vorith, Glimmering Hollow for Glinting Hollow); this wiki uses the spellings from the official Early Access material. For the rules those notes add up to, see Gameplay, Combat, Tradeskills, Travel, Items and Equipment and Interface and Commands.
