October 2026 Update
October 19, 2026 at 05:48 PM
Initial version (2026-10-19)
The October 2026 update for inZOI shipped as v0.11.0 on October 15, 2026. Its patch notes call it a Mini Update. When it was announced on October 9, 2026, the developers said it had been prepared in a relatively short time and adds no major new systems, presenting it as part of an effort to strengthen the game's fundamentals through more frequent updates.
The main changes are official Lua script mod support (originally planned for December 2026), filter mods, a cheat for free positioning and scaling of objects in Build Mode, autonomy plans for public properties, door permissions for individual household members, reworked unique NPC households, and changes to how Social Events start. It follows the v0.10.0 September 2026 update and its four hotfixes; see Update History for every patch.

Sample assets for six business display stands, two vehicles, and one swimming tube.
A headwear wizard.
An improved parts hierarchy and selection and editing experience in the vehicle wizard, with faster responses to setting changes and faster mesh imports.

Four levels of detail matched to the body are created automatically when a character skeletal mesh is imported.

A shortcut menu next to the top home button for opening content browsers 1 to 4, and a Don't Show Again option on the share information pop-up shown when packaging mods.

New poses were added.
Some residential properties in Dowon were modified.

Permissions can be set for individual pieces of furniture, and preferred activities can be selected for each individual.
Door permissions can be set independently for individual household members.
Walls can be edited on basement floors.

The October 9 preview named salon assets, European-style clock towers, doors and large signs, LED shelves, and outdoor sculptures among the new objects.
Applying the premium restaurant template automatically assigns restaurant roles to employees, and any missing employees are filled with new hires.
The current business template can be reset without selling and repurchasing the business.
When assigning a role to an employee, their expertise in that role is shown first.
An employee can be replaced with another Zoi without being fired.
To mark the limited-time Dinkum x inZOI bundle on Steam, a Dinkum T-shirt and a Play Dinkum PC interaction were added.
When typing a cheat, autocomplete suggests the entire cheat.
First-person view can be used while surfing and while swimming underwater; see First-Person Camera.
Holding hands was reworked. If a Zoi falls behind, the Zoi in front waits for them; the height of the held hands varies with the distance between the two Zois; a Zoi holding an umbrella puts it away to hold hands; and loading a save keeps two Zois holding hands. Various visual issues were fixed, though the patch notes say some technical issues remain, including at game speeds above 1x.
A first aid kit was added as a Build Mode item that cures various diseases. A Zoi who is not ill cannot take medicine from it, but young adults and older can check its contents. See First Aid and Illness.
Gaining skill experience is shown as an icon above the Zoi's head.
Zois look more natural and relaxed when taking a bath.
Vehicles no longer appear right in front of the player's driving path.
Social events begin only after all participants have arrived.
Participants move to their designated locations rather than all waiting at the entrance.
Party events progress faster than before.
Zois taking part in important events and player-organized events no longer leave.
The controlling Zoi can help if a fire breaks out during a player-organized event.
Unique NPC households received new descriptions and fitting appearances, traits, characteristics, skills, and ambitions for each member.
Relationships between household members are explained in more detail in relationship logs and milestones.
An existing save shows only the updated household photos and descriptions; a new save is needed for the rest of the changes. Taking a new household photo in an older save brings back the previous NPC appearances.
Editing a household description is planned for a future update.
Zois autonomously visit other households and take part in more fitting activities there. If a visitor is not welcome, the homeowner may ask them to leave.
After arriving at a property, a Zoi enters it.
Zois start conversations that fit their relationships and each Zoi's current emotion.
Zois greet Zois they know when they run into them.
When there are several objects of the same type, the closer one is chosen.
See Autonomy and Interaction Queue for how these fit with the September autonomy rebuild.
Selected preferences are applied when uploading a Zoi preset to Canvas.
Set autonomy plans are applied when uploading a property preset.
A full bug fix list was published on the official forums. It includes fixes for a character ending up under the boat after fishing on a boat, an uninvited Zoi joining a Dinner Party, the seller and customer overlapping during Hawk Wares to Nearby Zois, Zois showering in a mask, a missing sound effect during Set the Mood, a restaurant chef not cooking after continuing a live-service save, Smart Zoi Zois not eating proper meals when hungry, a married Zoi not returning to the shared household, the Ghost quest stalling after the Lumière Lobby piano was removed, Zois repeatedly sitting and standing during movies, the Gunjung Fine Dining Restaurant counter sitting outside the kitchen, a Mods menu item shown on Mac, overflowing Spanish immigration text, lighting differences between Photo Mode and Play Mode, and broken ModKit documentation links.
A new October known-issues list was published the same day. New entries cover a teen or younger Zoi keeping an inherited business, cleaning not being carried out with Smart Zoi active, hair on portraits appearing as dots, and UI mods not appearing when a new game is started. See Known Issues and Bugs for the full list and workarounds.
In a reply to comments posted before the update, director Hyungjun "Kjun" Kim said events now start once all participants arrive because guests travel together, with an option to travel separately planned later; that reports of other Zois inserting or canceling actions in the player's queue since v0.10.0 had been raised in priority; that nearby Zois are reused at large gatherings for performance and replaced after a set number of appearances; and that the priority of reviewing mod support on Mac had been raised.
His October 16, 2026 letter said script mods had been shared earlier than December and that the team would now focus on core features: refining the new autonomy controls (for example Zois placing food appropriately, sitting down, and eating), extending free placement so objects can be placed outside lots, and testing lot editing. He said he could not yet promise lot rotation, lot relocation, and additional residential lots within the remaining development time, that saving family presets is in preparation with progress to be shared before the end of the year, and that removing decorative buildings to create empty lots is under discussion. The 2026 Roadmap page tracks these letters.
