Applied Title Case to body headings
Karaoke is a recreational activity in inZOI that lets Zois sing songs at dedicated venues or using home equipment. It is both a social outing and a practical way to develop the Performance skill. The primary karaoke venue is Coin Booth Karaoke, a community entertainment lot located on the eastern side of Dowon. Players who prefer to sing at home can purchase a microphone through Build Mode instead, though visiting the karaoke venue offers additional social benefits and activities beyond just singing.
Coin Booth Karaoke is a public entertainment venue situated on the eastern side of Dowon. The facility is open every day from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Its tagline is "one coin is all it takes for you to become a pop star," and the venue invites visitors to sing their stress away by choosing from a diverse selection of music ranging from the latest hits to classic tunes.
The venue is part of Dowon's broader nightlife and entertainment scene. Because Dowon is modeled after Seoul, South Korea, coin-operated karaoke booths (called "noraebang" in Korean) are a fitting cultural touch. For a full overview of evening activities and entertainment options, see the Nightlife Guide.
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Name | |
City | |
Location | Eastern side of Dowon |
Lot Type | Community (Entertainment) |
Operating Hours | Every day, 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM |
Cost to Sing | 5 Meow per session |
Coin Booth Karaoke is more than just a singing room. The venue offers several activities that make it a worthwhile social destination.
Activity | Description |
|---|---|
Solo Singing | Select a song on the karaoke machine and perform it by yourself |
Duet Singing | Share a song with another Zoi at the venue |
Tambourine and Dancing | Play a tambourine and dance along to the music |
Use Coin Changer | Exchange currency for coins to use the karaoke machines |
Order Drinks | Purchase carbonated drinks, grain beverages, sports drinks, or karma action drinks |

Socialize | Chat and interact with other Zois at the venue |
To sing karaoke at Coin Booth Karaoke, your Zoi needs to follow a simple process:
Travel to the venue: Send your Zoi to Coin Booth Karaoke on the eastern side of Dowon.
Use the Coin Changer: Exchange your Meow for coins at the coin changer machine inside the venue.
Interact with a karaoke machine: Click on one of the karaoke machines and select "Sing a Song." This costs 5 Meow per session.
Perform: Your Zoi will sing the selected song. You can sing solo or invite another Zoi to join for a duet.
The quality of the performance depends on your Zoi's current Performance skill level. At low levels, the singing sounds rough and off-key, which can be entertaining in its own right. As the skill improves, your Zoi's vocal delivery becomes noticeably smoother and more pleasant to listen to.
Coin Booth Karaoke in Dowon is not the only option. Players can set up their own karaoke equipment at other locations using Build Mode. To create a functional karaoke setup, you need to place two items side by side:
Karaoke Machine: The main device your Zoi interacts with to sing songs.
Coin Changer: Required alongside the karaoke machine so your Zoi can exchange currency for coins to operate it.
This can be done at any editable public property. For example, players in Bliss Bay who do not have a dedicated karaoke venue have used the "edit public property" feature to add karaoke machines and coin changers to locations like the Amusement Park Entrance. The same singing mechanics and costs apply regardless of where the equipment is placed.
Singing at karaoke is one of the primary ways to increase the Performance skill. This skill is available from the Teenager life stage through Elder and governs your Zoi's ability to sing well, entertain others, and participate in stage activities.
Method | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Sing at Karaoke | Coin Booth Karaoke (Dowon) or custom setups | Costs 5 Meow per session; doubles as a social activity |
Sing with Microphone | Home (purchase via Build Mode) | Fastest method; no travel required |
Idol Career Vocal Practice | Workplace | Levels Performance while earning a paycheck |
Read Performance Books | Home (bookshelf) | Low-cost, low-risk option for reserved Zois |
Browse Humor Websites | Home (computer) | Select "Skill Action" on a computer to browse humor sites |
Watch Entertainment Programs | Home (television) | Modest skill increases from watching TV |
One important thing to note: not every Zoi enjoys karaoke equally. Some Zois simply will not like karaoke, and their Performance skill will not develop any faster from singing at the venue. For those characters, practicing at home with a microphone, reading performance books, or browsing humor websites may be more effective alternatives.
It is also worth noting that playing instruments such as piano, guitar, or drums does not increase Performance. Instruments fall under the separate Instrument skill. Performance is specifically tied to vocal and entertainment activities.
At maximum Performance skill, your Zoi unlocks two new activities that can be booked through any computer:
Comedy club performances: Your Zoi departs via taxi for a comedy show (rabbit hole event).
Singing competition entries: Your Zoi travels to compete in a vocal contest (rabbit hole event).
Both events are currently rabbit hole events in Early Access, meaning your Zoi leaves the lot and returns after a set time. Rewards for these activities may be expanded in future updates.
Karaoke plays a central role in the Voice of Heaven ambition, one of several ambitions that guide a Zoi's long-term goals. This ambition focuses entirely on vocal performance and has three progressive levels.
Level | Requirements |
|---|---|
Level 1 | Buy a standing microphone and sing a song 3 times |
Level 2 | Sing a song 10 times while amused; achieve Performance level 6 |
Level 3 | Sing at Coin Booth Karaoke 10 times; achieve Performance level 10 |
Level 3 specifically requires visits to Coin Booth Karaoke, so Zois pursuing this ambition will need to live in or travel to Dowon. Combining karaoke sessions with regular home practice using a microphone is the most efficient way to fulfill all three levels.
Karaoke in inZOI is designed as a social experience. Visiting Coin Booth Karaoke gives your Zoi opportunities to interact with other characters in a relaxed entertainment setting. You can bring friends along for a group outing, sing duets with companions, or meet new Zois at the venue.
The combination of singing, dancing with tambourines, ordering drinks, and chatting makes karaoke venues natural gathering spots. For Zois who are working on their social relationships, a trip to the karaoke booth after work is an effective way to strengthen bonds while also building the Performance skill at the same time.
Players often wonder whether it is better to sing at home or at the venue. Both approaches have their advantages.
Factor | Home (Microphone) | Venue (Coin Booth Karaoke) |
|---|---|---|
Cost | One-time purchase via Build Mode | 5 Meow per session |
Skill Gain | Fastest method for Performance | Effective but some Zois gain skill slower here |
Social Benefits | None (solo activity) | Meet and interact with other Zois |
Extra Activities | Singing only | Dancing, drinks, tambourine, wardrobe changes |
Convenience | Available anytime at home | Requires travel; open 8 AM - 10 PM only |
Ambition Progress | Counts for Voice of Heaven Levels 1-2 | Required for Voice of Heaven Level 3 |
The ideal approach combines both. Use the home microphone for daily practice to level Performance quickly, and visit Coin Booth Karaoke when you want to socialize, fulfill ambition requirements, or simply enjoy a change of scenery.
Bring friends along: Karaoke is more fun as a group activity. Invite other Zois to join before heading to the venue to strengthen social bonds while singing.
Check your Zoi's preferences: If your Zoi does not enjoy karaoke, their Performance skill will level slowly at the venue. Stick to home practice with a microphone instead.
Plan around operating hours: Coin Booth Karaoke closes at 10:00 PM. Arrive early enough to get multiple singing sessions in before closing time.
Combine with the Idol career: Zois pursuing the Idol Trainee career path in Dowon can use karaoke sessions as supplementary vocal practice outside of work hours.
Use karaoke for the Voice of Heaven ambition: Level 3 requires 10 karaoke sessions at Coin Booth Karaoke specifically, so start visiting early if your Zoi has this ambition.
Set up karaoke in other cities: If your Zoi lives in Bliss Bay, use Build Mode to place a karaoke machine and coin changer at an editable public property for the same singing experience without traveling to Dowon.
Karaoke venues are commercial locations where Zois go to sing. The primary karaoke venue in the game is Coin Booth Karaoke, located in Dowon's entertainment district. The venue features private singing rooms (noraebang-style) where Zois can perform without an audience, as well as open-stage areas for more public performances.

To visit a karaoke venue, travel to the location and interact with the building entrance. Once inside, select a singing room or an open stage to begin the activity. Karaoke venues operate during evening and nighttime hours, fitting into Dowon's nightlife scene alongside other entertainment options like bars and nightclubs.
Karaoke can be enjoyed alone or with company. The experience differs significantly depending on the social configuration:
Mode | Social Need | Fun Need | Performance XP |
|---|---|---|---|
Solo singing | Minimal | Moderate | Standard |
With friends (2-4 Zois) | High | High | Standard |
Duet (2 Zois) | Moderate to high | High | Slightly boosted |
Solo singing is a perfectly valid option for Zois who want to practice their vocal skills and have a good time without needing companions. The Fun need boost is solid even when singing alone, making it a reliable recreational choice during evening hours.
Group karaoke is where the activity really shines. Bringing friends to the venue transforms the experience into a social event. Zois take turns singing, cheer each other on, and share the fun. Group sessions provide a strong Social need boost alongside Fun, and the positive interactions build friendship levels between all participants.
Duets are a special two-person mode where two Zois sing together simultaneously. Duets are particularly effective for romantic partners on a date, as the shared performance creates a memorable bonding moment and provides a relationship score boost.
Every karaoke session contributes experience toward the Performance skill. The Performance skill governs a Zoi's ability in singing, dancing, and other entertainment activities. As the skill level increases, the Zoi's singing quality improves audibly, with better pitch, timing, and vocal range in the karaoke animations.
Higher Performance skill levels also unlock additional song choices and performance options. A Zoi with a low Performance level might sound rough and miss notes during karaoke, while a skilled performer delivers a polished, entertaining rendition. This progression encourages repeated visits to karaoke venues as part of a Zoi's skill development routine.
Karaoke is not the only way to build Performance. Dancing, playing instruments, and other creative activities also contribute. However, karaoke is one of the more accessible options since it requires no equipment or special setup.
Dowon is designed as a modern, high-energy urban district inspired by South Korean city life. Karaoke (noraebang) is a central part of Korean entertainment culture, and its inclusion in Dowon reflects this influence. The venue design, the private room layout, and the emphasis on group singing all draw from real-world noraebang traditions.
This cultural connection extends to Dowon's broader theme of music and entertainment. The city features K-Pop inspired aesthetics, music-related career paths, and entertainment venues that capture the energy of modern Korean pop culture. Karaoke fits naturally into this environment as both a gameplay mechanic and an atmospheric detail.
