The June 2025 Update (version 0.2.0) launched on June 12, 2025, and stands as one of the largest Early Access patches inZOI has received. It introduced the first official modding tools, expanded family creation with adoption and medical birth options, opened up teen romance, and added over 200 new items to Build Mode. The update also brought a body weight system that ties a Zoi's physical appearance to their daily habits, along with 20+ new outfits in Create a Zoi. Many of the features in this patch were direct responses to community feedback from the first months of Early Access.
Version 0.2.0 marked the debut of the inZOI ModKit, giving players their first set of official modding tools. The ModKit shipped with plugins for both Maya and Blender, making it accessible to hobbyists and professionals alike. At launch, the toolkit supported two categories of custom content:
Custom outfits: Players can model, texture, and import clothing items that appear alongside the default wardrobe in Create a Zoi.
Custom furniture: Modders can create new furniture pieces and decorative objects that slot into Build Mode alongside official items.
The ModKit uses a plugin-based pipeline. Artists create assets in Maya or Blender, export them through the inZOI plugin, and package them for distribution. Krafton indicated that the ModKit would expand in future updates to cover additional content types, but the initial release focused on outfits and furniture as the two most-requested categories.
The adoption system allows any household to adopt children through a computer or laptop interaction. To start the process, select the "Adopt a Child" option from the household management menu on any in-game computer. The system does not restrict adoption based on household composition; single Zois, couples, and larger households can all adopt. This was one of the most requested features during the first wave of Early Access feedback, as players wanted more paths to building families beyond the existing pregnancy mechanic.
Adopted children integrate fully into the household. They inherit the family name, build relationships with all household members, and have access to the same interactions as biological children. There is no limit on how many children a household can adopt beyond the standard household size cap.
Medical birth provides an alternative way to have a baby. The procedure costs 1,000 Meow and is initiated through a computer or laptop. Unlike natural pregnancy, medical birth works for all gender combinations, including same-sex couples. This was a major addition for players who wanted diverse family structures without relying on adoption alone.
The Meow cost keeps the feature balanced in the early game; players need to have some savings before they can use it. Once initiated, the pregnancy follows the normal timeline and life stages progression.
With v0.2.0, teenagers gained the ability to pursue romantic relationships. Before this update, romance interactions were locked to young adults and older. Teens can now flirt, confess feelings, go on dates, and enter into relationships with other teens. The romance system for teenagers mirrors the adult version but is age-appropriate, with no access to adult-only interactions. This change filled a gap that many players noticed, since teen social life felt incomplete without any romantic dimension.
The update added over 200 new objects to Build Mode, spanning furniture, wall decorations, lighting fixtures, outdoor items, and miscellaneous decor. The additions touched nearly every room category, giving players significantly more options for interior design and lot decoration. Notable additions included new kitchen counter styles, modular shelving, outdoor planters, and a broader range of lighting options for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Version 0.2.0 introduced a dynamic body weight system. A Zoi's physical build now changes over time based on their behavior:
Exercise and workouts: Regular physical activity improves a Zoi's physique, making them leaner and more toned over time.
Overeating: Consuming food frequently or eating high-calorie meals causes gradual weight gain that is visible on the Zoi's body model.
The changes are gradual rather than instant, and the body updates visually to reflect the current state. This system adds a layer of realism to daily life simulation and gives players another reason to manage their Zoi's habits. The weight system ties into traits and mentality mechanics, since certain personality traits influence eating and exercise preferences.
Over 20 new clothing options were added to Create a Zoi. The new outfits span casual, formal, and athletic categories, expanding the wardrobe for all age groups. Combined with the ModKit's custom outfit support, this update significantly increased the available fashion options for character customization.
Alongside the headline features, the June update included a sweep of performance improvements and bug fixes. Load times were reduced in several areas, memory usage was optimized for longer play sessions, and a number of interaction bugs that had been reported during the first months of Early Access were resolved. The patch notes listed dozens of individual fixes across Build Mode, Life Mode, and the UI.
