Scavengers

Scavengers are large, flightless, bird-like creatures that live in the open ground of the Valley of Mines. They are among the earliest real enemies the Nameless Hero can fight when he starts exploring outside the camps.

Role as an Entry-Level Threat

A single scavenger is a fair first fight. They telegraph their attacks enough that the player can rehearse the basics of the combat system against them, including parry timing and dodge spacing. Scavengers in a group are a different story, since their attack angles stack and can trap the Hero between beaks.
