The Bow is the Hero's primary ranged weapon in Gothic 1 Remake. It is available in the Nyras Prologue demo, where the player can pull back a full draw for longer-range attacks. Alkimia Interactive has confirmed the bow and crossbow both receive their own three-tier trainer progression in the remake.
Why Take a Bow
Safe distance. Against Bloodflies and airborne or skittish enemies, the bow is more reliable than committing to melee arcs.
Opens fights on your terms. A pulled bow lets the Hero take the first hit in an engagement, which matters against enemies whose opening attack is harder to parry than their follow-ups.
Scales with training. The three skill tiers (Beginner, Trained, Skilled) speed up the draw and improve precision the same way melee tiers do. See Combat System. A freshly drawn bow is weak, but once the Hero trains under a bow master it can drop most early enemies in one or two arrows.
Training
Bow skill goes up through a dedicated bow trainer rather than through raw practice. Access depends on which camp the Hero aligns with: each camp has its own set of weapon teachers, which is one of the practical reasons camp choice matters in the opening hours.

Arrows
Arrows are a consumable resource in the remake, just as in the original. The Hero can acquire arrows through merchants or through forging. See Forging and Arrows for the weaponsmithing system.
