Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave released on September 17, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2. Three products were announced: a standard digital download, a standard physical copy, and a collector's set called the Dagdan Collection, which ships on the same day. Pre-orders opened on June 9, 2026, the day Nintendo announced the date. This page was last checked in September 2026, after release.

Nintendo Switch 2 is the only platform. No version for any other console has been announced, no PC release has been announced, and no listing has surfaced on any storefront outside Nintendo's own. Nintendo has described the game from the start as launching only on the Nintendo Switch 2 system, and because it is a native Switch 2 title rather than an upgrade of an existing game, there is no Nintendo Switch 2 Edition branding and no Switch 1 version. It will not run on the original Switch. Release is simultaneous in Japan, North America and Europe.
Digital is deliberately cheaper than physical in the West, which follows the split pricing Nintendo of America introduced for Switch 2 first-party releases earlier in 2026 rather than anything specific to this game. Japanese figures are the storefront prices; the European collector's figure comes from retail listings rather than from a published Nintendo price.
Region | Standard digital | Standard physical | Dagdan Collection |
|---|---|---|---|
United States | $69.99 | $79.99 | $119.99 |
United Kingdom | £58.99 | £66.99 | Around £90 at retail |
Europe | Not published | Not published | Around €119.99 from retail listings |
Canada | Not published | CAD $109.99 | Not published |
Australia | Not published | AUD $119.95 | Not published |
Japan | ¥8,980 | ¥9,980 | ¥14,980 physical, ¥13,980 download |
Japan also has two SKUs with no Western equivalent: a download version of the collector's set, and a goods-only set at ¥6,000 that carries the physical items without the game. Both are sold through Nintendo's own Japanese store. The collector's set is officially the Dagdan Collection in the West and the Dagza Collection in Japan; other names in circulation, including Dagdan Edition and Dagdan Collector's Edition, are outlet shorthand rather than the product name.
The physical copy is a standard game card, not a Game-Key Card. That distinction matters on this hardware: a Game-Key Card ships with a licence rather than the game data and requires a download before it will run. Release listings that annotate Game-Key Card titles in the same launch week leave this one unannotated, and a Nintendo-focused game database records it as a standard game card. Nintendo has not said this in a press release of its own, so the reading rests on storefront and database listings rather than on a statement.
The estimated download is 29.5 GB, published on the eShop listing and reported on September 13, 2026. That is the pre-launch estimate rather than a measured install, and first-party titles routinely shift after a launch update, so it is recorded here as the figure on the storefront four days out. Ver. 1.0.0 published on September 10, 2026 and the Ver. 1.0.1 update was sitting in pre-loads on September 16, so the game could be pre-loaded ahead of release. Pre-load is a different thing from the pre-order, which opened on June 9.
Two versions shipped before the game reached shelves. Ver. 1.0.0 is the base build. Ver. 1.0.1 is the day one update and is the version most players started on, since it was already in pre-loads the day before release.
Version | Date | Size | What It Changes |
|---|---|---|---|
Ver. 1.0.0 | September 10, 2026 | Not published | The base version. No notes were published for it. |
Ver. 1.0.1 | September 16, 2026 | 297 MB | Distributes special weapons from across the Fire Emblem series, obtainable as the story progresses, plus general gameplay improvements. |
The series weapons Ver. 1.0.1 hands out have not been enumerated, so none is named here. As of September 2026 no itemised English patch notes for either version appear on any surface this wiki checks.
The collector's set is not one product worldwide. The Japanese and Western manifests list different items and different art book page counts, and the difference is consistent enough across listings to read as a genuine regional split rather than a reporting error. Both ship on release day alongside the standard edition.
Item | Western set | Japanese set |
|---|---|---|
Game | Physical copy | Physical copy, with a download version also sold |
Art book | 200 pages | Around 150 pages, titled as a Dagdan art book |
Art cards | Character art cards | 12 art cards |
Case | Steel game case | Card case to steel-case specification, in a printed art box |
Map or poster | A map of Dagda | A poster titled for the land of Dagda |

Two cautions apply. Nintendo's own press copy names the Western contents as a steel game case, character art cards, a map of Dagda and an art book, and gives no page count at all, so the 200-page figure comes from storefront and retail listings rather than from a press release. A separate European collector's listing describes an A1 poster in place of the map, which is a third manifest again; no dimension is asserted here. Both the page count and the map-versus-poster question are worth rechecking once sets are in buyers' hands.
Pre-orders opened on June 9, 2026 through the Nintendo eShop and at retail, and were still open at the time of the August presentation. The Dagdan Collection sold out on Nintendo's own stores shortly after opening, and further stock was made available around the August 4 presentation. In Japan, individual stores attach their own pre-order bonuses: a coaster carrying a clan-mark design and an acrylic puzzle block are two that have been announced. Those bonuses are Japan-only and differ from store to store. Buyers going through Nintendo's own UK store are listed as receiving a porcelain trinket dish.
Board | Rating |
|---|---|
CERO | C |
ESRB | T |
PEGI | 12 |
USK | 12 |
ACB | M |
GRAC | 12 |
GSRR | 15 |
The ESRB rating carries five content descriptors: fantasy violence, use of alcohol, mild language, suggestive themes, and in-game purchases. The last of those is a rating-board label and nothing more. As of September 13, 2026, no downloadable content, expansion pass or in-game store has been announced for this game, and neither the August presentation nor the press material that accompanied it mentioned any. A purchases descriptor is a publisher-submitted disclosure rather than an accident, so it is worth noting, but it is not by itself an announcement of anything and this wiki draws no conclusion from it.
Each line below was re-checked in September 2026 against official presentations, publisher press copy, storefront listings reachable to this wiki, and the launch-window coverage published since August. Nintendo's own product and eShop pages are not among the surfaces this wiki can check, and those are the pages where an amiibo compatibility line, an accessibility block or a second storefront listing would normally sit, so read these as absences across the surfaces named rather than as statements about the shipped game.
Feature | Status as of September 2026 |
|---|---|
amiibo support | No amiibo has been announced for this game and no amiibo function has been described. Coverage of the dedicated presentation noted the absence at the time, and nothing since has named one. |
Downloadable content | Nothing announced. Coverage of the presentation noted that neither it nor the accompanying press material mentioned any. One fan database states that Nintendo confirmed there will be no paid expansion pass; no such statement exists in any published Nintendo material and the claim is not repeated here. |
Expansion pass or season pass | Nothing announced. No such product has appeared on any storefront listing. |
Post-launch content roadmap | Nothing announced. No update schedule or content plan has been published. |
Day-one patch | Resolved. Ver. 1.0.1 shipped on September 16, 2026 at 297 MB. See the version history above. |
Pre-load | Resolved. Ver. 1.0.0 published on September 10, 2026 and Ver. 1.0.1 was in pre-loads on September 16. |
Itemised English patch notes | Not published. No itemised English notes for either version appear on any surface this wiki checks. |
Maddening difficulty | Not announced. Two difficulty settings are confirmed. See Difficulty and Modes. |
Multiplayer | None. The game is listed as single player only. |
PC or other console release | Nothing announced. Nintendo Switch 2 only. |
The review embargo lifted on September 16, 2026, the day before release. Reviews clustered around 8 or 9 out of 10, with several top marks among them and one score lower than that band. No aggregate figure is reproduced on this wiki.
Reported playtimes ran from about 80 hours to about 161 hours. The most granular breakdown puts a first route at roughly 35 hours, each route after it at 20 to 35 hours, and about 100 hours to complete all four Part 1 campaigns.
The preview embargo had lifted earlier, on August 13, 2026, when roughly two dozen hands-on impressions ran on a build covering the prologue and the first five chapters of all four routes. Those carried no scores.

September 17, 2026 | Release. |
A manga adaptation was announced in the Japanese cut of the August presentation, which runs about half a minute longer than the English cuts for that reason. It is a media fact and nothing more: the manga is not a source for anything on this wiki, and no plot point, character detail or mechanic is taken from it.

Relationship to the game | Follows the plot of the game |
It began serialising thirteen days before the game itself released, so the manga ran ahead of the release rather than trailing it. A first wave of physical merchandise was announced on September 11, 2026 for sale from launch day, covering clear files, a sketchbook, a muffler towel, pins, acrylic stands, tin badges, acrylic keyrings and a tote bag, with a second wave described as coming soon. Scale figures of Theodora and Leda were announced at the same time with no price, date or manufacturer attached.
For what the game is and how it plays, see Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. The difficulty and permadeath settings chosen at the start of a run are on Difficulty and Modes, the ten track Special Release that went live alongside the August presentation is covered on Soundtrack, and the mouse input new to the series on this hardware sits on Controls.
