Instances are the highest-intensity content in Farever. The term is the game's official umbrella label for dedicated, demanding encounters that test combat, teamwork, and mastery. Each instance is a condensed slice of what a sub-region has to offer, featuring stronger versions of creatures you have already met out in the world.
Instances run for parties of one to four players, so every one of them can be cleared solo or with a full group. The small party cap is a deliberate design choice: it lets the developers craft tighter, more carefully tuned encounters than a large-scale raid would allow.
Two Shapes of Instance

There are two kinds of instance:
Dungeons: multi-room areas you explore and clear from start to finish.
Boss lairs: a single dangerous boss waiting in its own lair. These fights are multi-phase and built entirely around one opponent.
Difficulty Tiers
Instances come in difficulty tiers. Normal is the standard run, and a harder tier is also confirmed. Clearing an instance on the Hard tier rewards higher-grade gear: weapons that drop from Hard dungeons are level 20.
Loot and Rewards
Instances give the strongest loot in the game. Completing one is a reliable way to earn unique gear and weapons that outclass what you find in the open world, and the rewards can come either as finished equipment or as recipes you craft yourself. Defeating an instance boss can drop powerful gear and weapons that unlock brand-new skills.
There is also a generous party rule: when an instance is finished, every player in the group receives at least one piece of gear. No one walks away empty-handed. For more on grouping up, see Multiplayer and Co-op.
