Overview
Bastier's Inquisitors is a Hostile faction based in Demeniss. Also known as the Righteous Inquisitors. The Righteous Tribunal was originally an inspection body meant to prevent corruption within the kingdom, but it has now degenerated into a faction loyal to Bastier. If Chelcia, who founded the Tribunal, could see what it has become today, she would have condemned them as evil for wielding power and persecuting the people.

The Corrupted Tribunal
Bastier's Inquisitors, sometimes called the Righteous Inquisitors, began as the Righteous Tribunal, an inspection body set up to prevent corruption inside the kingdom. Over time, the tribunal degenerated into a faction loyal to Grand General Bastier, who is the grand general of Demeniss and the leader of the Righteous Inquisitors. Today the Inquisitors pave Caliburn's path with blood, persecuting people rather than preventing corruption.
In combat they move in large groups, armed with shields and supported by very few ranged fighters, which forces players to break through their shield walls aggressively. Longswords and spears tend to be effective because of the tight formations. Their influence reaches across the Demeniss region during Chapter 5 and becomes a major factor in the region's political quest content.

Reputation and Rewards
Hostile factions sit below Neutral in the game's five-tier reputation ladder, which runs War, Hostile, Neutral, Friendly, and Alliance. Groups at War or Hostile attack on sight and impose reputation penalties for entering their territory, which means the usual way to interact with this faction is through combat, bounty hunting, and the clear-the-stronghold style of faction quest. Reputation can still shift if the player completes specific story objectives that strike at the faction's leadership or disrupt their operations.
