Overview

The Witch of Wisdom is a faction quest associated with the Witches faction in the Duchy of Hernand. The quest involves seeking out a witch known for her wisdom. The Witches are one of several factions operating in the Hernand region, and their quests tend to involve mystical or arcane elements.

Quest Giver

The Witch of Wisdom is Elowen, a mysterious figure who lives in a house in the Witchwoods area of the Hernand region. To find her, players must first visit a marked house in the Alfonso Estate and speak with Tanya inside. This encounter may require climbing through a window to gain entry. After rescuing the tied-up woman and dealing with bandits, Elowen reveals herself and marks her house on the player's map.

How to Unlock

1. Visit the marked house in Alfonso Estate and speak with Tanya

2. Deal with the bandits encountered during the first visit

3. Travel to Elowen's house in the Witchwoods, northwest of Tanya's location

4. Speak with Elowen to initiate the quest and gain access to her Abyss Gear slotting services

Objectives

Elowen asks Kliff to cleanse four Sanctums spread across Pywel. The Sanctums can be completed in any order:

Sanctum of Absolution

Located in the Duchy of Hernand. Defeat all Antumbra enemies inside, then retrieve the cube piece from a hallway (hidden behind clay pots) and the pillar piece from an underground chamber. Use Axiom Force and Force Palm to position the pieces correctly. The boss "Antumbra's Sword" guards this sanctum and requires high health, stamina, and healing items to defeat.

Sanctum of Temperance

Located in the Grace Estate area. Clear out enemies, then retrieve the cube piece from a hole in the ground and the pillar piece from a room blocked by foliage. The vines blocking the way can be burned or tanked through to reach the piece.

Sanctum of Penitence

Also located in the Grace Estate area. Defeat the Antumbra worshippers inside, then retrieve the missing cube from rubble on the south side of the structure. Secure it to a broken pillar using Force Palm. The pillar piece is found at the top of a tower.

Sanctum of Benediction

Located in the Duchy of Hernand. Eliminate all enemies, then retrieve the cube piece from a hallway room and the sphere from behind a stone door. Light the nearby lantern on the south tower side to unlock the stone door and access the missing sphere. Secure both pieces to the main structure to complete the cleansing.

• Each cleansed Sanctum triggers a visit from Elowen, who shares historical lore about the location

• Access to Elowen's Abyss Gear services for slotting and buffing equipment

Tips

• The Sanctum of Absolution is the most difficult due to the Antumbra's Sword boss. Bring plenty of healing items and ensure high stamina before attempting it.

• The Sanctums can be completed in any order, so consider tackling easier ones first for practice.

• Completing all Sanctums and meeting all witches in the game unlocks access to the Labyrinth Grove and additional rewards.

• Each witch in the game gives a Witch's Token upon completing their quest chain. Collecting all tokens unlocks the door to the Wayward Woods Witch Hideout, where the fifth witch, the White Crow, awaits.

Completion

Elowen the Witch gave her crafting recipe book as a reward for cleansing the sanctum.

Gateway to the Kuku Pack Blueprint

The Witch of Wisdom questline is the first witch chain most players touch, and it is also the first step on the path to the Kuku Pack crafting branch. Meeting this witch during the Chapter 5 campaign unlocks the map marker for the Sanctum of Penitence, and cleansing that sanctum is what rewards the base Kuku Pack blueprint from the witch cutscene.

If you are specifically chasing the Kuku Insect Gatherer's Pack, the Witch of Wisdom chain is a prerequisite; the Insect Gatherer variant then requires a second witch (the Witch of Eliza Leah) and a second sanctum (the Sanctum of Oblation) to unlock its own blueprint.
