Tarnished Necklace
October 29, 2026 at 12:56 PM
Remove the positively disproved only-necklace claim and separate pickup Attack from refinement progression.

The Tarnished Necklace is a Necklace accessory in Crimson Desert. It provides a +1 Attack pickup display. It is one of several documented necklaces, including Ancient's Necklace, rather than the sole option. Earlier build advice combines it with Weapons and Rings. This adds to overall damage output.
The earlier accessory-slot layout uses two earrings, two rings, one necklace and one Cloak. That does not make this particular necklace mandatory; compare other documented necklaces and refinement states.

The +1 Attack bonus is modest on its own, but it stacks with the Attack bonuses from rings (such as the Tarnished Ring at +1 ATK or the Hernandian Signet at +2 ATK). A full offensive accessory loadout using the Tarnished Necklace, two offensive rings, and refined earrings can provide a meaningful damage increase on top of weapon stats.
"A necklace dulled by years of wear. Though its original luster has faded, it bears the weight of time, passed through the hands of countless owners."
The flavor text paints the Tarnished Necklace as an old, well-worn piece of jewelry that has changed hands many times. Its history of multiple owners suggests it has been traded, looted, or passed down through generations. The "weight of time" may be figurative, referring to the necklace's sentimental or historical value rather than any magical property.
The crafting route uses 7 Copper Ore and 2 Garnet at a Blacksmith after learning Accessories of the World, Vol. II. The pickup guide also confirms non-guaranteed Bandit drops and lists a 1.93 Silver sell display, distinct from the older 1 Silver quote. The recorded +0 Attack is 0, +1 is 1 and +10 is 11. Do not treat the acquired +1 example as a fixed maximum or a tested damage multiplier.
The Tarnished Necklace is looted from Bandits encountered throughout the open world. Bandits appear in camps, along roads, and in strongholds scattered across the map. The drop is not guaranteed, so multiple bandit encounters may be needed to acquire one.
Bandit camps: Clear bandit camps during Main Story quests and side content. Bandits respawn at regular intervals, making camps a reliable farming spot.
Roadside encounters: Groups of bandits spawn along roads between settlements. Traveling on foot or horseback between Hernand and outlying areas will trigger frequent encounters.
Loot corpses: After every fight, check the white dots on the minimap. These indicate unlooted bodies. Accessories are a common drop alongside Silver coins and consumables.
Duplicate copies: Since the necklace is non-unique, players can loot multiple copies. Extra copies can be used as refinement material at the Blacksmith.
The Tarnished Necklace supports up to 10 refinement levels at any Blacksmith. Refinement materials for this necklace include Small Bone, Garnet and later Gold Ore, Diamond and Abyss Artifacts. The earlier generic Hides and Bones advice from Hunting is not its exact complete recipe. Identical Necklaces can replace materials only in eligible early steps before an Abyss Artifact is required, following Patch 1.06.
Refinement raises this necklace's recorded Attack from 0 to 11. The older claims of increased attack speed and stamina regeneration are not established as this necklace's refinement effects; its separate recovery field is malformed and cannot establish a new numeric rate.
From level 5 onward, Abyss Artifacts are required alongside standard materials. Compare other necklaces before committing Abyss Artifacts; this is not the only option for the slot.
Crimson Desert allows players to equip six accessories simultaneously:
2 Earrings (e.g., Oath of Darkness, Engraved Gold Earring)
2 Rings (e.g., Hernandian Signet, Tarnished Ring)
1 Necklace (Tarnished Necklace)
1 Cloak (e.g., Hernandian Noble's Cloak)
Although the earlier layout allows one necklace, this is one of several choices in equipment planning. Other documented necklaces already exist, rather than depending on a future update or DLC to provide an alternative.
One of several documented necklaces in Crimson Desert.
Commonly dropped by Bandits, making it one of the earliest accessories most players acquire.
Low sell price of 1 Silver; extra copies are better used as refinement material than sold.
The older claims that refinement adds increased attack speed and stamina regeneration are not confirmed by the exact necklace progression.
The worn appearance described in its flavor text matches its position as a low-tier, early-game piece of equipment.
