Overview

Stolen Quarry is the third faction quest in the Estate in Dismay chain for House Roberts in the Duchy of Hernand. Count Roberts tasks Kliff with reclaiming Karin Quarry, which has been seized by Bleed Bandits. The quest features a boss fight against Marni's Excavatron, a mechanical drilling construct. Completing this quest unlocks the Mining Knuckledrill, a special mining tool that significantly improves ore gathering.

Walkthrough

Reaching Karin Quarry

From the Goldenleaf Trading Post, head north along the trail. Karin Quarry is nestled in a rocky valley northeast of the City of Hernand. A cutscene triggers when you enter the quarry grounds, revealing the Excavatron and the bandits controlling the area.

Boss Fight: Marni's Excavatron

The Excavatron is a large mechanical construct armed with drill arms. Its primary attack pattern involves drilling underground and reemerging to strike. The drills can hit multiple times in quick succession, so avoid lingering in its path after it burrows.

Key mechanics to watch for:

• Drill Charge: The Excavatron burrows underground and erupts beneath you. Dodge to the side when you see the ground disturbance.

• Multi-hit Drill Sweep: Its drill arms swing in arcs that hit multiple times. Keep distance or dodge through the attack rather than away from it.

• Ground Slam: Occasionally slams both drill arms into the ground, creating a shockwave. Jump or dodge backward to avoid it.

Recommended Strategy: Consider switching to Damiane if you have unlocked her. Her agility lets you dodge the Excavatron's attacks more reliably, and her AoE skills deal good damage during the boss's recovery windows. Kliff's Force Palm is also effective for staggering the construct.

Clearing the Quarry

After defeating the Excavatron, exit through the wooden gate on the far side of the arena. A group of Bleed Bandits occupies the rest of the quarry. Clear them out to fully liberate the location. Using Damiane's mobility and AoE skills helps manage the larger enemy group efficiently.

Rewards

Tips

• The Mining Knuckledrill is one of the most valuable early-game rewards. Prioritize this quest if you plan to invest in mining and crafting.

• Stock up on healing food before heading to the quarry. Hearty Grilled Meat (crafted from Fine Meat at bonfires) is a solid choice at this stage of the game.

• Damiane's mobility makes the Excavatron fight significantly easier. If you find yourself struggling with Kliff, try switching characters.

• The Gold Vein Map unlocks valuable mining spots across Hernand, making this quest a gateway to profitable resource gathering.
