Rhett is the equipment vendor at the Hernand Equipment Shop in the City of Hernand. Blessed with talented hands, he earned the moniker "The Artist of Iron" for the quality of his work. He is one of the first NPCs players encounter when exploring the town and offers an early request that rewards a crucial inventory expansion.
Rhett's shop is one of the primary sources for weapons, armor, and combat equipment in the early game, and completing his request should be a priority for every new player. His inventory expands significantly as the player progresses through the main story, most notably after the boss fight against Matias in Hernand Square, when the full Canta Plate armor set becomes available for purchase.
Rhett runs the Hernand Equipment Shop, located in the middle of Hernand Town near Turnali's Smithy. The two shops sit next to each other, a short distance east down the road from the tavern. The shop is easy to find when exploring the town's central market area.

Rhett sells weapons, armor, and other combat equipment from his shop. As the primary equipment vendor in Hernand, his inventory is essential for players gearing up before heading into the field. Higher-quality items become available as the player progresses through the story and builds Trust with Rhett.
Building Trust with any Hernand merchant through completed requests and trade can unlock new shop inventory, special trade agreements, and hidden information that is not available at lower reputation levels.
Once the player defeats Matias during the story quest in Hernand Square, Rhett's shop inventory expands to include the full Canta Plate armor set. This set includes the Canta Plate Helm, Canta Plate Armor (body), Canta Plate Gloves, and Canta Plate Boots. While the Canta Plate equipment is not particularly flashy, it provides a sizable step up in defense compared to the gear available before the Matias fight, making it one of the best early-game armor options.
Players who have already purchased the Bolton Plate Armor and Bolton Plate Cloak from the Contribution vendor can mix and match pieces from both sets. For example, equipping the Bolton chest piece and cloak alongside the Canta Plate gloves, boots, and helmet provides a well-rounded defensive loadout for the early stages of the game.

Raising Trust with Rhett to 100 unlocks additional items in his shop inventory. Trust can be increased by greeting Rhett daily (each greeting grants +5 Trust), completing his commissions, or giving him preferred gifts such as Thin Hide and Honey Tea. Reaching maximum Trust takes roughly 20 days of daily greetings if no other methods are used.

The Equipment Trade Agreement: Hernand is a supply contract that can be purchased from Rhett once the player reaches 100 Trust. After buying the agreement, the player must use it from their inventory to activate it. Once activated, the Greymane Camp quartermaster will stock Hernandian equipment in their shop, removing the need to travel back to Hernand Town to buy gear from Rhett directly.
This trade agreement is especially convenient for players who have moved on to later story chapters and want continued access to Hernandian equipment without backtracking. The contract does cost a decent amount of silver, so players should plan their spending accordingly.
Rhett's Request is one of the earliest Commissions available in the game and one of the most important for new players. It introduces the mining mechanic and rewards an inventory expansion.
Speak with Rhett at his equipment shop in Hernand. He will provide you with a Pickaxe and mark a mining location on your map.
Travel to the iron ore deposit. The closest node is located southwest of Hernand City, near Anvil Hill. Leave through the town's southern exit and walk west along the path. You can jump down from the elevated path to reach the ore deposit below.

Deliver the Iron Ore to Rhett's assistant (not to Rhett himself). The assistant is stationed south of Hernand near the Equinsher Saddlery area by some wagons. He is described as a shirtless giant and is easy to spot.
The quest does not explicitly tell the player that the ore must go to Rhett's assistant rather than Rhett directly. Many players return to Rhett's shop only to find they cannot complete the quest there. Follow the quest marker carefully, or check south of Hernand near the Saddlery for the assistant.
If the quest tracker unmarks the objective, reactivate it through your Journal to get an updated map marker pointing to the assistant's location.
Standard Inventory Expansion Tool: Increases your carrying capacity, making this one of the most valuable early-game rewards.
Contribution Points: Earned for the Hernand region.
Pickaxe: You keep the Pickaxe after the quest, which is needed for future mining and gathering tasks.

Complete Rhett's Request as soon as possible. The inventory expansion is one of the most impactful early rewards in the game.
While mining iron ore for the quest, gather extra Copper and Iron from nearby deposits. These materials are useful for crafting later.
Keep the Pickaxe after completing the quest. You will need it for resource gathering throughout the game.
The assistant is south of Hernand by the Saddlery and wagons, not at Rhett's shop. Follow the quest marker if you get lost.
Make sure to fight Matias before checking Rhett's shop for the Canta Plate armor set. The full set only appears in his inventory after the boss is defeated.
If you already bought the Bolton Plate Armor from the Contribution vendor, you can fill out the remaining armor slots with Canta Plate pieces from Rhett for a strong early-game loadout.
Greet Rhett every day to build Trust toward 100. Each greeting gives +5 Trust, so roughly 20 daily greetings will max it out. You can also speed this up by giving him Thin Hide or Honey Tea as gifts.
At 100 Trust, buy the Equipment Trade Agreement: Hernand from Rhett. It costs a significant amount of silver, but it lets you purchase Hernandian gear from your Greymane Camp quartermaster instead of traveling back to town.
