On the Right Path

Overview

On the Right Path is the 55th main quest in Crimson Desert and the third quest in the Forbidden Knowledge sub-chapter. It is a dialogue-only quest in which the Dean of Scholastone Institute, a character named Grundir, speaks in riddles (much like Alustin) and explains that the experiments happening in the plaza are a necessary defense against coming chaos. He introduces Kliff to Octavius, a researcher whose work becomes central to the quests that follow.

Walkthrough

Finding the Dean

Upon arriving at Scholastone Institute, look for the Dean standing on a bridge. He wears distinctive blue robes, making him easy to spot. Walk up to him and initiate the conversation.

Following the Dean

After the initial dialogue, Grundir begins walking through the Institute. Follow him as he tours you through the facility. He stops at various points to explain the research being conducted and the nature of the experiments in the central plaza.

Meeting Octavius

Grundir leads you to Octavius and introduces the two of you. Octavius is a key figure whose research into the Abyss drives the next several quests. After the introduction, the quest completes automatically.

Tips

• There is no combat or puzzles in this quest. Just follow the Dean and listen to the dialogue.

• Pay attention to what Grundir says about the plaza experiments. It provides context for the Gate to the Otherworld quest that follows immediately after.

• Octavius disappears later in the chapter, so remember his introduction here.
