Overview
Luke is a scout of the Greymanes in Crimson Desert. He is a man of few words who prefers to sit quietly and lose himself in thought. Despite his reserved nature, Luke is a capable scout whose quiet observation skills serve the group well. He specializes in construction and ranching tasks within the Companion Dispatch system at Greymane Camp.
Recruitment
Luke is found at Coalvale Workshop, located southeast of the Greymane Camp. When the player visits Coalvale Workshop, they hear someone mention a Greymane living off day wages in the area. Approaching the workers triggers a cutscene where Kliff recognizes Luke and Ronald as fellow Greymanes.
Luke and Ronald have been following rumors about Kliff and the reformed Greymane band. After the meeting, Kliff informs them about the new camp at Howling Hill. Both can then be assigned to the Howling Hill Camp Expansion dispatch mission, which formally recruits them into the group.
Recruitment is tied to the Greymanes Faction questline. Progress through the "A rumor..." series of quests to unlock new companion recruitment opportunities including Luke.

Dispatch Specializations
Luke is a freesword companion within the Freesword Dispatch system. Each companion has individual worker skills that determine which tasks they excel at. Matching workers to missions that align with their skills improves output and reduces completion time. Luke's specializations are:

Construction missions require at least one companion with the Builder/Construction skill. Without it, the mission cannot run. Luke is one of the companions who satisfies this requirement, making him valuable for camp expansion.
For ranching dispatch missions, Luke's Mastery tier provides a significant +30% output bonus. Assigning Luke to ranching tasks yields substantially better returns than sending him on missions outside his specialization.
Camp Role
At Greymane Camp, Luke handles dispatch assignments alongside other companions. The dispatch system allows players to send freeswords on off-screen missions that run in the background while the player explores. Luke's construction skill makes him essential for camp infrastructure missions, while his ranching expertise supports the camp's food and resource production.
Building the farm and ranch at camp as soon as the Goldleaf Trading Post quest becomes available is recommended, and Luke should be assigned to ranching dispatch early to maximize resource generation.
