Holy Water is traditionally regarded as sacred, pure water. Used in rituals, prayers, and blessings, it is said to be sprinkled around homes or sanctuaries to drive away evil spirits and cleanse the energy. In Crimson Desert, Holy Water is classified as a Special Material within the crafting and refinement system.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Obtainable Via | Town church vendors |
Holy Water can be purchased at the town church. Unlike standard crafting materials that are sold at the smithy or provisioner, Holy Water is exclusively available from religious vendors. Visit churches in towns like Hernand to stock up.
Holy Water is a required ingredient for crafting Platinum, one of the most valuable high-tier crafting materials in the game:
Recipe | Holy Water Needed | Other Ingredients | |
|---|---|---|---|
2 | Witch NPC |
Holy Water is also used as a special crafting and refinement material in other recipes. Its "Special Material" classification means it appears in unique or high-tier refinement recipes beyond Platinum.
Visit the church in each town you reach to check for Holy Water availability.
Since Holy Water is sold by a specialized vendor rather than general merchants, it is easy to overlook. Make a habit of stopping by churches during town visits.
If you plan to craft Platinum for endgame equipment, stockpile Holy Water early. You need 2 per Platinum, and it is the easiest ingredient to acquire since it is simply purchased.
The other Platinum ingredients (Gold Bar, Brimstone, Mercury) all require active farming, so having Holy Water already in stock saves time.

Holy Water is sold by every major city church. The bottles refresh on the standard vendor restock timer, so a single sweep across two or three cities is usually enough to stock weeks of Platinum crafting. None of the locations gate the purchase behind a faction quest or reputation level, which makes Holy Water the easiest of the four Platinum ingredients to source.
City | Vendor Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Most central church; easy to weave into Drakefall Castle or Deadfire Mountain runs. | ||
Cathedral building on the upper ridge of the city | Closest to the Deadfire Mountain brimstone and mercury route. | |
Main church in the cathedral square | Same district as the Serpent Shrine fast travel; convenient before a Scholastone trip. |
Holy Water is one of four ingredients required by the Alchemy Formula: Platinum, alongside Gold Bar, Brimstone, and Mercury. Because the other three ingredients have to be gathered or crafted from the wild, Holy Water is the only Platinum input that can be stockpiled instantly at the start of a forging run.
Recipe Slot | Quantity per Platinum Bar | Sourcing Effort |
|---|---|---|
1 | Witch craft; requires Gold Ore and a Golden Apple | |
2 | Deadfire Mountain rocks (force palm and nature's snare) | |
2 | Frozen pond on Deadfire Mountain (ice arrows) | |
2 | Purchased instantly from any major church |
The full Aeserion Longsword forging chain (and the other S-tier picks, the Aeserion Halberd and Aeserion Sword) consumes multiple Platinum bars per weapon. Plan to purchase a stack of Holy Water before any extended forging session and re-buy after vendors refresh, so the bottleneck moves to the brimstone and mercury routes rather than to a vendor cap.
Always buy Holy Water at the start of a Platinum run, never at the end; the church vendor is the fastest leg of the loop and avoids a return trip if the witch cauldron runs out mid-batch.
Pick the church closest to the rest of the day's plan. If you are headed to the Deadfire Mountain farms, Demeniss is the shortest stop; if you are running the Serpent Shrine first for Aeserion Scales, Delesyia is closer.
Vendors stock a finite amount of Holy Water per refresh. If a vendor sells out, hop to another city church rather than waiting; the three churches are independent stock pools.
