Grizzly Bear

Overview

The Grizzly Bear is one of the most powerful bear mounts in Crimson Desert, tied with the Black Bear for the highest base stats among bears. Like other wild animals, a Grizzly Bear can be ridden in the field once it is subdued, and it can also be fully tamed: after you raise its trust and take it in, it is registered as a special mount that can be summoned. Field taming of wild animals was introduced in Patch 1.06.00 and expanded in Patch 1.07.00, which added more rideable bear and wolf types.

Grizzly Bears are massive, heavily built predators found in forested and mountainous regions. Their 1,500 HP and 180 Attack make them formidable combat platforms. The trade-off is that subduing one requires a prolonged and dangerous fight.

Base Stats

At Level 1, the Grizzly Bear has the following base stats:

These stats are identical to the Black Bear. The Grizzly and Black Bear variants are functionally equivalent in combat performance.

How to Obtain

Grizzly Bears appear in forested wilderness areas throughout Pywel. The taming process is identical to other bear variants: attack the bear until it submits, then quickly press the Ride button. Given the 1,500 HP, this is a longer fight than subduing a standard Bear (1,000 HP). Fire-based attacks help create stagger windows.

Taming Process

Claiming a Grizzly Bear takes two stages: subdue it in combat, then earn its trust with food.

1. Stock several pieces of meat before you engage. Red meat raises trust faster than Bird Meat, which is less effective. Meat can be bought from Butcheries or gathered by hunting.

2. Wear the bear down until it submits. Its 1,500 Health makes this a longer fight than subduing a standard Bear, so unarmed Force Palm strikes and fire-based attacks help build stagger and stun windows while you stay mobile.

3. When the Grizzly lowers its head, mount it with the Ride prompt to begin the trust phase.

4. Hold the use input, choose Feed, and give meat until the trust gauge reaches 100 percent.

5. With full trust, use Take In to register the Grizzly Bear as a Special Mount.
