Correct item facts and expand source-supported acquisition and crafting details.
Cloth Armor of the World Vol. I is a crafting manual in Crimson Desert that unlocks recipes for lightweight cloth armor pieces at any blacksmith. Cloth armor is one equipment family alongside leather and plate armor. The older broad comparisons about defense, Ice Resistance, movement, dodge recovery and stamina consumption should not replace item-specific effects. The recorded Grey Wolf Cloth Cloak has Ice Resistance Lv.3 and a stamina-cost modifier, while Skyblazer Cloth Cloak has Fire Resistance Lv.5.
This is the first volume in the cloth armor crafting manual series. Its recorded unlock list includes caps, cloaks and Rabbit Cloth Boots. The older chest/glove/boot examples below are retained as unverified claims rather than a matching list of this volume's recorded unlocks.
The manual can be found through several methods:
Sold by a tailor vendor in Hernand Town. Check the market square near the clothier stalls.
Dropped from certain chests in the Hernand countryside and nearby caves.
Rewarded by completing early side quests that involve gathering cloth or fleece for local NPCs.
Reading the manual permanently adds the cloth armor recipes to every smithy in Pywel. The manual itself is consumed on use.
The following older examples have not been independently matched to this Volume I unlock list. Use the recorded unlock references below before relying on their names, recipe quantities or stat columns:
Bonus | |||
|---|---|---|---|
Delesyian Cloth Tunic | 4 | Ice Resistance Lv. 3 | Cloth Pieces x10, Fleece x3 |
Grey Wolf Cloth Tunic | 4 | Ice Resistance Lv. 3 | Cloth Pieces x10, Fleece x3 |
White Bloodwind Cloth Tunic | 4 | Ice Resistance Lv. 3 | Cloth Pieces x10, Fleece x3 |
Delesyian Cloth Gloves | 2 | Ice Resistance Lv. 2 | Cloth Pieces x5, Fleece x1 |
2 | Ice Resistance Lv. 2 | Cloth Pieces x5, Fleece x1 | |
Delesyian Cloth Boots | 2 | Ice Resistance Lv. 2 | Cloth Pieces x5, Fleece x1 |
Cloth armor recipes typically call for Cloth Pieces and Fleece. Cloth Pieces can be gathered from linen bundles found in towns, purchased from vendors, or salvaged from defeated bandits. Fleece is obtained by hunting sheep and goats in the Hernand countryside or purchasing it from livestock traders.
Choosing between cloth and plate armor affects how your character handles combat:
Attribute | ||
|---|---|---|
Lower base values (older class comparison; check the individual item) | Higher base values (older class comparison; check the individual item) | |
Elemental Resistance | Ice Resistance (older class comparison; check the individual item) | Fire Resistance (older class comparison; check the individual item) |
Mobility | Faster dodge recovery (older class comparison; check the individual item) | Slower dodge recovery (older class comparison; check the individual item) |
Stamina Cost | Lower stamina drain (older class comparison; check the individual item) | Higher stamina drain (older class comparison; check the individual item) |
Best For | Agile, evasion-based play | Tanking, heavy-hit trading |
Cloth armor suits players who rely on dodging and spacing in combat rather than absorbing damage directly. It pairs well with fast weapons like rapiers and one-handed swords.
In addition to chest, glove, and boot recipes, several cloaks use similar cloth materials. The recorded Delesyian Cloth Cloak and White Bloodwind Cloth Cloak recipes each require 10 Cloth Pieces and 2 Fleece after reading Volume I. The older attribution of that recipe to Grey Wolf Cloth Cloak remains unverified; the separate Grey Wolf Leather Cloak has a different recipe and manual. Cloaks can provide direct Defense: the recorded Delesyian Cloth Cloak progresses from 6 at +0 to 18 at +10, while White Bloodwind Cloth Cloak runs from 0 to 12. Both list Ice Resistance Lv.3, but Skyblazer Cloth Cloak instead lists Fire Resistance Lv.5.
If you plan on using cloth armor, pick up this manual as early as possible so you can start building a set before heading into tougher regions.
Cloth armor complements the Scarecrow Cloak and other cloth cloaks for a full Ice Resistance loadout.
Refine your cloth armor at the smithy to push its defense values higher. Each refinement costs additional Cloth Pieces.
Socket Abyss Cores with defensive stats (Aegis, Wall of Steel) to offset the lower base defense of cloth gear.
Delesyian Cloth Cloak, Rabbit Cloth Boots, Raccoon Cloth Hat, Ziggurat Cloth Helm, Labrak Cloth Cap, Drish Cloth Cap, Rueconec Cloth Cap, Rivellon Cloth Cap, Radein Cloth Cap, White Bloodwind Cloth Cloak. Check each item's wearer, refinement level and exact recipe. The older general shop, chest and side-quest acquisition notes above are not independently established by this unlock list.
