Overview
Clockwork Insect Clash is a main quest in Crimson Desert and the fifth mission of Chapter 10: Counterattack, serving as the climax of the Secret Weapon sub-chapter. The ATAG test run is interrupted when a massive clockwork insect, a rogue war machine that escaped from the Gorthak Ironworks during an earlier accident, attacks the testing ground. This boss fight is the first real test of the ATAG's combat capability.

Boss Fight: Clockwork Insect
This fight is conducted entirely inside the ATAG. The clockwork insect is a massive six-legged mechanical construct with armored plating. The fight has three phases based on the number of legs destroyed.
Phase 1: Full Mobility
The insect charges and swipes with its front legs. Dodge sideways using the ATAG's strafe capabilities.
Use the machine gun to chip away at the leg joints. Each joint glows orange when damaged enough.
The cannon is effective for hitting multiple legs at once when the insect rears up.
Phase 2: Partial Immobilization
After two legs are destroyed, the insect becomes slower but starts using ranged attacks: launching clockwork projectiles from its abdomen.
Use the EMP discharge to disable the projectiles mid-flight, then continue targeting the remaining legs.
Phase 3: Exposed Core
Once all four primary legs are destroyed, the insect collapses and its core is exposed. Unload everything into the core.
After enough damage, the insect begins a self-destruct countdown. Ram away from it immediately to avoid the explosion.
Tips
Focus fire on one leg at a time. Spreading damage across all legs takes longer and leaves you exposed to more attack cycles.
The EMP discharge is critical in Phase 2. Without it, the clockwork projectiles deal heavy damage.
When the self-destruct begins, ram in any direction away from the insect. The explosion has a large radius but the ram covers enough distance to escape.
After the fight, the Ironflame Orcs are so impressed that they formally ally with the Greymanes, giving you full access to their facilities.
