Morheim
October 6, 2026 at 11:52 PM
Added the To Morheim quest and hideout access conditions, the Chapter 1 field content list, Kromede's Island naming and an October 2026 global status update
Morheim is the Asmodian territory added by the Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow update on July 1, 2026, on the Korean and Taiwanese build. NCsoft frames it as the land of fire and ice, and its terrain lives up to that: tundra on one side, lava fields on the other, and a canyon where the two meet.

Its Elyos counterpart is Eltnen. Morheim is also named in AION 2's own lore as one of the two anchors of the Asmodian Bulwark, which the Empyrean Lords raised between Morheim and Beluslan.
Finishing the hero quest line in Altgard spawns a spatial transfer portal. It checks character level, item level and combat power before it will carry you.
The Asmodian story reaches Morheim through the quest To Morheim (모르헤임으로; provisional English). Since August 26, 2026 the portal can only be used from that quest's Go to Morheim step (모르헤임으로 가기) rather than from the moment the quest is accepted. A portal inside the Altgard legion hideout also leads to the Morheim hideout for characters with level 45, item level 3,300 and 270,000 combat power.
NCsoft's region material describes these sub-areas in Korean. Patamor Plains is the English name the game itself uses; the island and the canyon have no English name in the game data seen so far. Treat the English name as provisional until NCsoft uses it.
Area | What it is |
|---|---|
Patamor Plains (파타모르 평원) | The first area you meet on entering Morheim. Shallow-snow tundra where rocky peaks and forest fold into ravines, with Balaur strongholds scattered through it. |
크로메데의 섬 | A floating island formed by an Ode storm, on which Kromede built a settlement. Small but orderly and prosperous, with Kromede's subordinates on hard watch throughout. |
할라바나협곡 | A canyon between the snowfield and the lava fields, where hardened lava and shallow water meet. Meltwater from the Nephra snowfield and the Patamor forest pours down as waterfalls and fills the canyon with hot steam. |
Kromede also appears elsewhere in AION 2: the Fire Temple Expedition is built around the shadow of the desire that consumed her.
Morheim carries the same Chapter 1 field layer as Eltnen: a new Monolith with Empyrean Traces, new Field Bosses with Paintings and exclusive gear, Strongholds and Sealed Dungeons, Pendant quest rewards, new pets and a legion hideout. NCsoft's notes say the two territories roll out across Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 rather than shipping complete. Smaller Korean fixes since launch include item-source information for Morheim's Strongholds (July 15, 2026), a lava flower monster retextured to suit the Muspel Volcano Zone (July 22, 2026) and a snowfield Fluffy appearance for the Nephra Snowfield (July 29, 2026).
The game's location text sketches the situation. Kromede, described as a treasure hunter, once worked out of a camp in Morheim before claiming the sky island as her base, and the spirits of the Fire Temple turned wrathful at rumours that she had abandoned it. Sigebert commands a Taytra Brigade unit in Iralcig Highland and the Muspel Volcano Zone and trains Fate Archons of his own, and the Naga there follow his orders in the absence of their leader, Dragon Lord Fafnir. The Fate Archon instructors and candidates who studied Marchutan's scriptures were massacred by his loyalists, and fake Fate Archons capture Daeva for the Balaur, many of them Kromede's followers. The Blades, a gang that used to operate from Morheim, left bases and storehouses behind, and former Blades members now rob travellers on the road between Altgard and Morheim.
A selection of Morheim's named field sites, as the game describes them. The names are the game's own English names and are provisional.
Site | What it is |
|---|---|
Abandoned Kromede Base | Kromede's temporary base before she claimed the sky island, now occupied by servants of Fafnir. |
Land of Raging Flame | A cave that shields the Fire Temple from the sea air; its guardian Spirit turned wrathful at rumours Kromede had fled. |
Fire Cave | A lava cave that leads into the heart of the Fire Temple. |
Pure Spring | A spring near Muspel Volcano under a cliff that, by rumour, even Kromede never dared approach. |
Verdandi's Oratory | Where Verdandi stayed with Skuld before settling in Patamor Village, now held by Indnath's forces hunting Nemon. |
Fate Temple | Where Fate Archon candidates studied Marchutan's scriptures before Sigebert's loyalists massacred them. |
Frozen Land of Fate | The hideout where the last true Fate Archons met their end. |
Kurpak Special Operations Unit Base | A Taytra Brigade unit under Sigebert's command, deployed across Iralcig Highland and the Muspel Volcano Zone. |
Dharvata Surveillance Base | A Balaur base searching for the Ascension Artifact and storing Fafnium to trap the souls of captured Daeva. |
Cursed Snowfield Hideout | A former Nornir hideout in northern Morheim, raided by the Balaur and now a Karas den. |
Dinakra Sky Outpost | A floating island that broke away when the Arkanis Sky Temple collapsed, now a Balaur sky outpost. |
Patamor Marauder Base | Outlaws of the Patamor Plains, mostly former Blades members. |
Ashen Campsite | A legion outpost ruined by an eruption, now the base of a volcano-worshipping cult. |
The Korean service lists Patamor Village and Kromede's Island (크로메데의 섬; no official English name yet) as Morheim's villages, and its July and September 2026 events placed their merchants on Kromede's Island. Player guides name Kromede's Island as the place to buy Morheim's Duty Scrolls. See Villages and Settlements, Strongholds and Sealed Dungeons, Monoliths and Empyrean Traces and Field Bosses.
Morheim is Korean and Taiwanese live content. As of October 7, 2026, two days after the global launch, NCsoft's global service notices and the global FAQ have named Poeta, Ishalgen, Verteron and Altgard areas (in Hero Quest fixes and a Quest Tracker teleport to Verteron or Altgard) but have not announced Eltnen, Morheim or the level 50 cap for the global service; NCsoft's English press release of July 6, 2026 described them as part of the Chapter 1 update, which launched on the Korean and Taiwanese service on July 1, 2026. Do not assume Morheim is in the global build.
Altgard for the territory it connects to. Eltnen for the Elyos counterpart. Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow for the update itself. World and Regions for the world structure.
