ZeroSpace entered Early Access on July 20, 2026 and has been patched on a roughly weekly cadence since. This page records what each post launch update actually changed, newest first. Balance numbers are given as they were stated at the time, so an entry describes the build on its own date rather than the build today.
Pre launch announcements, demo builds and the crowdfunding history sit on Development instead.

August 19, 2026: Performance Update
The largest technical patch of the Early Access period so far, and the one that split Galactic War balance away from the rest of the game.
General
Twenty two units were moved onto the animation system already used by Commandos and Stingers, among them the Sentinel, Harbinger, Skrell, Exalted, Dark Disciple, Weaver, Shade, Chronowarper, Heavy Trooper, Sharpshooter, Deadeye and Harvester. The studio expected large performance gains when many of these are on screen at once.
A hotkey for attack ground was added, defaulting to Control and A. Players who had attack on quickcast previously had no way to attack ground at all.
A modifier for self casting abilities was added, defaulting to Alt. Holding it while pressing an ability key self casts, for example on Vynthra Life Harvest.
Opponents can be muted, either from their portrait in the lobby or from the info button in the top right during a match.
A problem in how the game communicated with the online service backbone was resolved. It had occasionally throttled the connection and pushed players above 1000 ping.
Replay data was being read unnecessarily when downloading new matches, which froze the game once a player had around 1,000 replays saved.
Drag scroll speed no longer depends on frame rate, and drag scroll no longer drifts when the mouse is still.
Pathing fixes for flying units and for vehicles with acceleration, which had been failing to move close enough to shoot and failing to path around blocked ground.
Galactic War
Galactic War units are no longer affected by changes made to versus and skirmish. This is a design change rather than a fix: the two balance environments are now separate.
Several earlier versus balance changes were reverted inside Galactic War as a result, including Devourers being able to hit air again.
Mutator matchmaking settings were added, so players can prioritise a faster queue or the mutators they want.
The score screen now tracks fastest times, fewest units lost and more.
Topbar bonuses that were not working were fixed.
Versus, Skirmish and Survival
Resource Warfare and The Stars in Our Reach now apply to all experience sources instead of only towers.
The Hauler Transport ability allows unloading while flying.
Spectators can see unit upgrades, topbar abilities and tooltips, in live games and in replays.
Fog of war visuals were updated on some maps.
MMR and rank now update on the versus tab after a game.
The Survival score screen was updated.
August 14, 2026
Grell bases now begin with full biomass, and topbar power buttons show their cooldown duration. A bug that gave players the wrong faction in Survival was fixed.
Ability casts are no longer interrupted by auto attacks while walking towards the selected target.
Galactic War
Difficulty now scales all rewards rather than only some.
The experience curve from level 12 to 30 was corrected, with no experience or levels lost in the process.
Galaxy fuel cost was temporarily cut in half, to make it easier to navigate around the pirates.
Matchmaking now waits for a better match instead of forcing one quickly.
Match history was fixed for players with more than 700 games.
Balance
Faction | Changes |
|---|---|
Grell | Deep Nest power cost rose from 15 to 18 and its Boomer spawn fell from 4 to 3, with Boomer health cut from 250 to 150. Rapid Germination construction speed dropped from +40 percent to +30 percent. |
Legion | Efficient Upgrades gained ground on both halves, research speed from +35 to +40 percent and cost reduction from 35 to 40 percent. Dreadnought bombardment rose from 60 to 70 damage per bomb, and Steelsworn picked up 1 armor. |
Protectorate | Hauler health rose from 400 to 500. The Predator Reinforced Matrix shield fell from 75 to 50 while its cost dropped from 150 to 125. Titan Antimatter Boosters lost range, from +4 to +3. Commando Eagle Tactics moved back to requiring a Mechanical Research Lab. |
August 11, 2026
The patch that removed an entire armor type. Harvester stopped existing as an armor class: harvesters and extractors moved to Medium armor, and every bonus written against Harvester had to be rewritten. Six units were affected, the Skrell, Ironwing, Predator, Echo, Raider and Pulse Skimmer, each of which had its bonus converted into +50 percent against Medium.
The balance sweep that came with it reached the four main factions and five of the six mercenary groups. It also fixed a bug that duplicated experience spillover at maximum level, which had been granting every unit level 3 veterancy.
Balance
Faction | Changes |
|---|---|
Grell | The Lasher lost its bonus against Medium and gained base damage, 17 to 18. Infuse now uses the same cost multiplier as the Protectorate shield and Legion Reanimate, with its bonus reduced from +50 to +45 percent. Stinger health rose from 90 to 100. |
Legion | Exalted damage rose from 22 to 24 while its Maul fell from 18 to 12. The Dark Disciple bonus against Heavy dropped from +100 to +75 percent. Scouting drones lost health, 100 to 75, but became free on supply. |
Protectorate | The Griffin now heals one target instead of three, at 22 health per second rather than 12. Titan damage rose from 7 to 8 and its bonus changed from +100 percent against Medium to +25 percent against Light. Sentinel move speed rose from 525 to 550. |
Xol | Unmerge became effectively free, its cost cut from 5 to 0 and its cooldown from 60 seconds to 20. Anrubic Xyther Shield Wall dropped from a 90 second cooldown to 30. The Eradicator lost the ability to attack air and gained full area damage within 1 range. Molten Cores can now be recharged by friendly Legion conduits and walked over. |
Mercenaries | The Cha'Kru Hat'un was rebuilt around roughly the same damage per second to fix its attack animation, damage falling from 100 to 65 as its weapon cooldown fell from 1.52 to 1 second. The Endari Deep One moved to a cost of 125 hexite and no flux, and Devourers lost the ability to attack air. Hel of the Marran had stealth cut from 10 seconds to 8 and grenade area from 4 to 3. The Valkaru Beast gained the Massive tag. The Arandi Empire was the one mercenary group left untouched. |
Other Changes
Hide UI began working in replays and while spectating, and end of game score screens now display in replays.
An area for titles was added to the player profile, ahead of any titles existing.
Cancel construction now always cancels the most recently started building.
Mercenaries no longer spawn near expansions on Casual and Normal difficulty in Galactic War.
Stealthed units are now properly revealed when they take any damage.
Major updates to the Chinese localisation, with large fixes to Japanese and Korean.
August 6, 2026
Galactic Season Zero closed and the Keeper Council took the win. An I'olin Season Zero portrait went out to every player, and anyone who captured a planet during the war received a planet portrait as well.
The narrative moved with it. The alliances pulled back to their expanded territories, unrest began rising across conquered systems, and a pirate warlord seized the galactic zenith and the territory around it during the confusion. A public rankings page also launched, letting players check standings in a browser without opening the game.
Galactic War
Pirate warlords took over the center of the galaxy.
Pirate mutators were added, and Monolith health was adjusted.
Campaign
Gold hexite mining rate when exhausted rose from 40 to 50 percent.
Artillery Platforms now require a Research Lab to be built, and the Juggernaut no longer deals bonus damage to Massive.
Touchdown gained units in its final attack wave, and now requires walking to the pickup area to end the mission.
Versus
The low health hero speed boost changed from +50 percent for 5 seconds to a flat +200 speed for 5 seconds, part of a wider pass to stop percentage speed bonuses stacking against each other.
Legion Healing Obelisk cost fell from 150 to 125 hexite.
Hel had her stealth speed bonus reduced to a flat +150, her stealth cooldown raised from 18 to 20 seconds and grenade damage cut from 40 to 30.
August 1, 2026
Two posts went out on the same day: a minor patch and a news update carrying the stream watching drops.
Two portraits, She Who Stalks and Loi'Kru, became unlockable by watching streams in the game's category, and a tab was added to the player profile for linking a streaming account, which is what activates the drops.
The Xol and the Grell can now build on each other's power fields and biomass.
Ground attack range now correctly follows weapon range. Units able to attack the ground, such as the Thresher, had been exceeding their intended range.
Jump on Aster and Commandos had been capping at a distance of 10 rather than the displayed 12.
A secondary harvester rally point was added for bases, and AI surrender can now be declined.
In Galactic War, the Xol had more heroes on Iron Shield than intended, and pirate matches were switching from Brutal to Casual.
Large Turkish, Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean localisation updates. Turkish and Vietnamese brought the supported language count to fourteen.
July 30, 2026
The patch that added the pirates and a design change that had been widely asked for.
Galactic War: Pirates
Pirates take over a small percentage of each alliance's planets.
A planet held by pirates earns no influence until they are cleared, and they arrive through the ZeroSpace wormholes.
Pirate missions are themed and may carry mutators.
Defeating a pirate grants a burst of influence for the planet that was defended.
General
An option was added to disable the production queue mechanic, so buildings and units either deduct their cost immediately or cannot be started at all.
Survival was moved to the end of the game mode list and labelled as being in beta.
The default auto control group hotkey changed from 1 to 5.
Select all army on screen no longer picks up harvesters.
Campaign
New emails and codex entries were added.
Artillery damage rose by 33 percent and its attack speed by 25 percent, and the Valkaru Beast had its damage cut from 195 to 100.
The hero career panel on the ship now shows up to date vitals and abilities, keeps a second colour for saved versus modified levels, and can cycle between hero careers including those not currently selected as a commander.
Individual fixes landed on Strider Layer, Grey Horizons, Containment Breach, Dead City, Liability Waiver, Hostile Takeover, Fractured Veil and Celestari.
Versus and Balance
A design and balance patch that the studio described as reining in outliers and encouraging strategic diversity. It touched heroes, all four main factions and every mercenary group. Among the structural changes: the Grell Thresher had its supply cost cut from 8 to 6 and gained the ability to attack ground, the Legion Altar began requiring a Citadel, the Protectorate Bastion gained a Retribution Protocol upgrade that makes it explode on death for 20 damage per second over 6 seconds, and the Endari Devourer went from 4 supply to 8 with its load capacity raised from 6 to 16, enough to fill an entire Strider.
July 26, 2026
Matchmaking could fail after a match had already been found. That was fixed.
Double click selection became more reliable, and control click and select all now better match the intended unit type, including molten variants.
Galactic War match rewards now give item drops prominence, with better reward icons and hover details on the post match strip.
AI mission damage can scale by mission setup and selected difficulty, first used on Grey Horizons.
A loading screen crash tied to text initialisation was fixed.
July 25, 2026: Weekend Update
The largest patch of the post launch period, and the one that introduced the Galactic War item system.
Galactic War
An early preview of the item system arrived. Finishing a mission carries a chance of an item drop from a limited selection, and items are equipped in the Arsenal to be used.
A long list of mission specific fixes covering Planetdeath, Critical Delivery, the Galactic War tutorial, Vynthra infusion costs and Galavax Terror Tank behaviour.
General
Resolution settings were fixed. They had not been applying properly, which was one of the most reported problems of launch week, and a resolution change now applies immediately rather than on the next setting the player touches.
A maximum zoom level setting was added, and subtitles now default to enabled.
Two portraits, Inquisitress and Galavax, became earnable by winning a game while in a party, and a third, Bastion, was offered through a clip sharing promotion.
Mutators can no longer be applied in matchmade games.
Versus and Balance
The stated aim was to rein in the fastest elements of the game and give players slightly more time to react. Scouting drones across the Xol, Legion and Protectorate dropped from 750 to 650 move speed and from 2100 to 1800 sight range, the Protectorate Predator fell from 900 to 800, the Grell Skrell fell from 900 to 800, and the Legion Exalted fell from 700 to 650. Melee hero health gain per level was reduced from 39.2 to 36.7 percent.
July 21, 2026: Day One Patch
Built from the first day of player reports, and focused on performance, crashes and the user interface.
An in game roadmap was added.
Crashes when viewing player profiles and on loading screens were fixed.
Resolution scale now always defaults to 100, which addressed the blurry and fuzzy graphics players were reporting.
General chat started working, and leaderboards began working properly.
Random can no longer produce the Xol in matchmaking, and the Xol cast range upgrade cost was corrected from 400 to 200.
A rare objective trigger bug on Operation Moby, the second campaign mission, had been leaving it softlocked.
Control groups and unit name tooltips are now shown by default, with hover time set to 150 milliseconds.
Offscreen unit effects are now removed immediately instead of fading out, for performance.
July 20, 2026: Early Access Launch
ZeroSpace launched into Early Access with five modes available.
Campaign Act 1, twelve missions played as Prefect Aster of the Protectorate, with decisions that carry across the story.
Galactic War, ten co-op missions in a persistent seasonal mode where alliances compete for the Orion Sector.
Survival, in which one or two players hold out against endless waves of Grell.
Ranked, covering 1v1 and 2v2 only at this point.
Skirmish, covering 1v1, 2v2 and free for all against friends or AI.
Four main factions were fully playable at launch, with six mercenary groups available to mix into an army. The Xol shipped at an earlier stage of development than the rest and were held out of ranked matchmaking until community balance feedback could be worked in. Twelve languages were supported on the day.
Galactic War Season Zero began the same day and ran to August 2. Later that evening the studio announced that a patch would deploy that night, having already identified bugs, performance and stability problems and interface errors from the first hours of play.
Update Cadence
On August 10, 2026 the studio set out the rhythm it was aiming for: weekly changes carrying bug fixes and minor balance tweaks, with content such as missions, commanders, factions and heroes held back for larger drops at around monthly intervals rather than trickled out one at a time. The same statement described a plan for the following month covering a new Galactic War season, more units, and additional campaign and co-op content.
That is a stated plan rather than a schedule. No season after Season Zero has been announced and no date has been given for one, and the public rankings page offers a current view plus daily snapshots rather than seasons.
