Overview
How My Sea Adventure Began is the main story quest that immediately follows I Need a Bigger Boat. The quest teaches base-building progression tied to ship outfitting and concludes with the player's first open-sea engagement before arriving at Tortuga. There are five objectives in total.
Prerequisites
Completed I Need a Bigger Boat and the player has a seaworthy vessel
Speak to Doctor Galen at the base to trigger the next phase
Walkthrough
Build the Shipwright's Workshop at camp. Use the build menu; the recipe is unlocked by quest progression.
Craft 12-pounder cannons for the ship at the Shipwright's Workshop.
Approach the Wharf and interact with it to open the Ship Gear screen. Slot the 12-pounders into the ship's cannon slots.
Board the ship, approach the wheel, and press E to Steer the Ship. Sail to the objective marker on the map.
Engage the pirate vessel in your first ship-to-ship combat. Bring the enemy hull low, then close and initiate Boarding to finish the fight.
Sail to Tortuga Market (final objective marker).
Rewards and Progression

Tips
Stock Repair Kits and at least two cooked food buffs (see Cooking Recipes) before the ship battle.

At Tortuga, drop a Fast Travel Bell near the market so return trips are one jump.
