Fireplaces are an indoor hearth built from a set of modular Decorations pieces (Luxurious Fireplace, Chimney, Chimney Cap, Fireplace Cover, Fireplace Foundation, Fireplace Pipe, Fireplace Walls, Firewood Rack). The set is purely decorative, though it reads as a visual heat source in a cold room and contributes to a room's comfort rating.
Icon | Name | Description | Comfort | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A fireplace where burning logs whisper tales of storms, reefs, and stolen rum. | +2 | Wood x5 |
The Luxurious Fireplace is the main body, placed flush against an interior wall. Chimney pieces stack upward through the ceiling, capped with a Chimney Cap at roof level. Firewood Rack and Fireplace Cover are optional accent pieces for the hearth base.
Although the fireplace is a multi-part structure, only one piece of the sub-category counts for comfort. The remaining pieces are there to seal the silhouette from floor to roof.
Pair a fireplace with a Carpet, a Luxurious Cushioned Armchair, and a Decorative Table with an Oil Lamp to create a reading corner.
A finished fireplace runs from a Fireplace Foundation at floor level, up through Fireplace Walls and the Luxurious Fireplace body, then a Fireplace Pipe or Chimney section through each Roof or floor above it, finished with a Chimney Cap at the very top. Only the most-built piece in the Fireplaces sub-category contributes its comfort bonus, so a tall stack still grants the same +2 as a single qualifying piece. The extra pieces exist for the visual seal, not for stacking comfort. As with all Building Pieces, dismantling a placed fireplace piece refunds 100% of its materials, so you can re-route a chimney without losing Stone.
Line the chimney stack vertically through every Floor piece above the hearth before adding a Chimney Cap on top.
Fireplace Cover hides the flame for a room you want to feel unused or abandoned.
Use a Firewood Rack on the side of the hearth for visual balance.
Comfort bonuses in a given decoration sub-category do not stack. Placing a second piece of the same sub-category does not add more comfort, it only changes the aesthetic.
The Luxurious Fireplace and Fireplace Foundation both call for Foothills Iron Ingot, so unlock smelting in the Foothills before planning a full hearth.
