Conquistador's Pants is the Rare legs piece of the Conquistador's Armor set in Windrose. It is crafted at the Armor and Clothing Workshop after unlocking the Plans: Conquistador's Pants recipe.

Rarity: Rare
Slot: Legs
Set: Conquistador's Armor
Item Level: Base ilvl 1; scales to ilvl 11 through tier upgrades
"This reliable metal armor allowed the Spaniards to conquer the New World thanks to its exceptional durability and toughness."
Like all Rare and Uncommon armor, Conquistador's Pants has three crafting tiers that set its base Defense. Each tier can be upgraded several more levels at the Upgrading Station using the same recipe materials.
Item Level | Defense | Craft Tier |
|---|---|---|
1 | 100 DEF | Base tier |
6 | 200 DEF | Second tier (upgraded recipe) |
11 | 300 DEF | Third tier (top recipe) |
Defense is the only combat stat carried by armor in this game; pieces do not add raw attribute points, so the Upgrading Station is where most of a piece's protection comes from. Each crafted tier of Conquistador's Pants can be reinforced several extra levels with the same recipe materials, and the Upgrade System lets a lower tier be pushed close to the next tier before you commit the rarer ingredients for the higher recipe.
Requires the craft plan Plans: Conquistador's Pants to be unlocked first. The Plans: Conquistador's Pants is sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Reputation Rank 2 for 200 Piastres; the Provisioner is reached by building reputation with Smugglers of Port Royal.

Each tier unlocks a new workshop attachment: the Shoemaker's Bench at ilvl 6 and the Material Rack at ilvl 11. Both attach to the Armor and Clothing Workshop and require its Bonfire coverage to function.
Conquistador's Pants counts toward the Conquistador's Armor 5-piece set. Set bonuses apply globally once the stated number of pieces are equipped at the same time.
Pieces | Bonus |
|---|---|
2-piece | Increases Damage Resistance by 15%. |
4-piece | Grants the Bulwark effect: the first few hits you take do not interrupt your actions. |
Both bonuses are global buffs that switch on the moment the required number of Conquistador's Armor pieces are worn together, regardless of which slots they fill. The 2-piece damage resistance is one of the strongest flat mitigation bonuses among the rare sets, and the 4-piece Bulwark effect, which keeps the first few hits from interrupting your actions, makes the full set the go-to tank choice for soaking boss attacks.
The five pieces of the Conquistador's Armor set, one per equipment slot, are listed below. Set bonuses count any mix of these pieces, so partial builds are common.

"They strode across foreign lands with swords in their hands and a thirst for gold in their hearts."
Together with the Conquistador's Cuirass, the Pants plan is one of the two main pieces sold directly by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Reputation Rank 2.
Counts as one piece toward the Conquistador's Armor 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses: pairing it with a second piece from the same set is usually the minimum to get value out of the plan.
As an Ingots set, the legs piece climbs from Copper Ingot to Foothills Iron Ingot and Mire Metal Ingot, with Smithing Flux needed at each upgrade tier.
The tank profile pairs naturally with high Vitality builds, since the mitigation and Bulwark bonuses let you hold ground against bosses while the rest of a crew deals damage.

The plan for this piece is also tied to a crafting Discovery for working ancient steel, which is learned by recovering an Ancient Steel Shard in the Ashlands. Until that discovery is made, the recipe stays locked even after the plan is purchased.
