Overview
Pigs are a livestock species in Starsand Island unlocked at the Intermediate Rancher tier. They are purchased from Pastelle at Green Pasture Ranch for 650 Coins each. Pigs are housed in Pigsties and their primary product is Truffles, which they dig up from the ground. Pigs also produce fertilizer poop, making them a dual-purpose animal for cooking ingredients and farm maintenance.

Truffle Production
Pigs dig up truffles from the ground automatically when placed in a Pigsty on your property. Truffles are a valuable cooking ingredient used in several high-tier recipes. Keeping pigs fed and happy increases the quality and frequency of truffle finds.
Puffhog
The Puffhog is the Super Rare pig variant. It stands out with its blue-green fluffy appearance and is the only pig variant that can be ridden as a mount (1 person). Despite its unusual look, it functions the same as other pigs for truffle production and fertilizer poop.
Pig Poop as Fertilizer
Unlike other animal poop, pig poop has enhanced fertilizer properties. It can be processed in the Fertilizer Box to produce higher-quality fertilizer for your crops, making pigs useful even beyond their truffle output.
Tips
Pigs are a reliable source of truffles for cooking. Keep at least 2 to 4 in a Pigsty near your farm.
Breed Common + Common pairs to work toward the Puffhog variant, which doubles as a mount.
Pig poop has better fertilizer value than most other animal waste. Process it in the Fertilizer Box for premium crop growth.
Truffles sell for a decent price at shops and are worth saving for the Merchant Ship's 200% markup.
