Puffhog is a Super Rare Pig variant in Starsand Island. Covered in extremely fluffy fur, this oversized pig is the only rideable variant of its species. Puffhog stands out among the pig family because it functions as both a farm animal and a mount, letting players ride it across the island while destroying trees along the way.

Among the four pig variants (common Pig, Spotted Pig, Tusked Boar, and Puffhog), this is the rarest and the only one that can be ridden. Its internal rarity code (Pig99) places it at the lowest breeding probability of any pig offspring.

Puffhog is immediately recognizable by its voluminous, puffy coat of fur that covers its entire body. While common pigs have smooth skin, the Puffhog looks almost spherical thanks to the dense fluff surrounding it. The overall silhouette is round and exaggerated, making it one of the most visually distinct animals on the ranch.
When ridden, Puffhog can destroy trees by charging into them. This makes it a practical mount for clearing forested areas without needing to equip a tool. Compared to other Super Rare mounts that focus on movement (water walking, double jumping, speed boosts), Puffhog fills a resource-gathering niche by letting players harvest wood while traveling.
Like all pig variants, Puffhog produces Fur and Poop (used as fertilizer). However, unlike the common Pig, Puffhog does not search for truffles or uncover unknown mud piles. Those foraging behaviors are exclusive to the base variant. Puffhog's value lies in its mount utility rather than product output.
Puffhog is obtained exclusively through breeding. Place a male and female pig of the same species together in a Selective Breeding House (or a standard Breeding House) with at least one empty slot. If both parents are fed, clean, and happy, a baby will appear the next day. As a Super Rare variant, the chance of producing a Puffhog is very low, and players should expect to go through many breeding cycles before one appears.
Use the Selective Breeding House rather than the standard Breeding House. The Selective Breeding House lets you bias trait inheritance toward a chosen parent, which is helpful for stacking positive DNA traits even though it does not directly influence which color variant hatches.
Keep all breeding slots occupied at all times. Running three slots simultaneously triples your chances per day.
Remove any parents carrying negative DNA traits like Pride (which prevents petting and lowers happiness). A clean gene pool improves overall offspring quality.
Prioritize parents with the Strong trait (faster breeding) and Twins trait (more offspring per attempt) to increase the number of chances per cycle.
Sell or release offspring that carry negative traits immediately so they do not dilute the gene pool.
