Overview

Chirpy Plum is a farming crop in Starsand Island, unlocked at the Expert Farmer tier, the highest farming certification level. It grows on standard Farmland during Summer, takes 7 days 12 hours to mature, and produces 4 Chirpy Plums per harvest. Each fruit sells for 505 Coins, making it one of the most valuable crops in the game.

What sets Chirpy Plum apart from other premium crops is its simplicity. Unlike Star Plum or Jadelume, which benefit from processing into jams or other products, Chirpy Plum is most efficient when sold raw. It does not require extra steps like jamming, pickling, or cooking to reach its full value. This makes it one of the most convenient high-value crops for late-game income, especially when combined with Everlasting Seeds for zero-cost replanting.

How to Obtain Seeds

Chirpy Plum Seeds are purchased from Graminova at the Happiness Seed Shop for 730 Coins per bag. Graminova stocks Chirpy Plum Seeds year-round, but the crop itself only grows during Summer. Planting outside the Summer season will cause the seeds to wither and die, so buy and stockpile seeds in advance if needed, but only plant them once Summer begins.

To unlock Chirpy Plum Seeds in the shop, you must reach Expert Farmer, the final farming certification tier. This requires completing every prior trial: Apprentice, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Farmer. The Expert Farmer trials involve advanced tasks such as mastering crop rotations, achieving high harvest yields, and demonstrating proficiency with all farming tools and stations. Reaching Expert Farmer is a significant time investment, but the reward is access to the most profitable crops in the game.

At the Senior Farmer tier (one tier below Expert), you gain access to the Grinder, which lets you process 2 harvested Chirpy Plums into Chirpy Plum Seeds. Since each harvest yields 4 fruits, you can convert half the harvest back into seeds and still sell the other half for profit. This eliminates the 730 Coin seed cost entirely once you have a steady supply of harvested Chirpy Plums.

Growing Chirpy Plum

Chirpy Plums grow on standard Farmland. They do not require a Trellis, Paddy Field, or Planting Box. The growing process follows the same steps as any farmland crop.

1. Till the soil: Use your Hoe on a patch of Farmland to create a planting spot.

2. Plant the seed: Select Chirpy Plum Seeds from your inventory and place them in the tilled soil.

3. Water daily: Water the crop each day using your Watering Can, or set up Sprinklers to automate the process. Water stays on a tile for about one full in-game day before drying out.

4. Wait 7 days 12 hours: Chirpy Plum takes 7.5 days to reach maturity. Growth time starts from the moment you plant, not at the start of a new day. The crop does not regrow after harvesting; you will need to replant seeds for each new harvest.

5. Harvest: Walk up to the mature plant and interact with it to collect 4 Chirpy Plums.

Using Ripening Fertilizer can speed up the growth time. Ripening Fertilizer I instantly advances growth by 8 hours, Ripening Fertilizer II by 13 hours, and Ripening Fertilizer III by 25 hours. Given the 7.5-day growth cycle, Ripening Fertilizer III shaves off more than a full day, which can help you squeeze in an extra harvest within a single Summer season.

For increased yield, Yield Fertilizer I boosts harvest quantity by 50% and Yield Fertilizer II by 150%. With Yield Fertilizer II, a single Chirpy Plum plant can produce up to 10 fruits instead of the standard 4, dramatically increasing revenue per tile.

Bee Pollination Speed Boost

One of the most effective ways to accelerate Chirpy Plum growth is through bee pollination. If you place Bee Houses near your crop fields, the bees will periodically pollinate your crops, which speeds up their maturity. With enough active Bee Houses positioned around your Chirpy Plum fields, the effective growth time for an entire field can drop to roughly 2 days, down from the normal 7.5 days. This is a massive improvement that turns Chirpy Plum from a once-per-season crop into something you can harvest multiple times each Summer.

To maximize pollination coverage, place Bee Houses in a grid pattern around your farming plots so that every tile falls within pollination range. The bees work automatically once the houses are placed and stocked, so there is no manual labor involved beyond the initial setup.

Chirpy Plums sell for 505 Coins each at the General Store. A standard harvest of 4 Chirpy Plums brings in 2,020 Coins. After subtracting the 730 Coin seed cost, that leaves a net profit of 1,290 Coins per harvest, or 172.0 Coins per day over the 7.5-day growth period.

This puts Chirpy Plum among the top Expert Farmer crops for daily income. It matches Star Mango (Spring, same seed cost and sell price) in gold-per-day output. Increasing Sell Value

There are several ways to get more out of your Chirpy Plums beyond selling them raw at the General Store.

Unlike many other high-value crops, Chirpy Plum does not benefit significantly from processing. No known jam, juice, or cooking recipes use Chirpy Plum as an ingredient. This is actually an advantage for convenience: you harvest, sell, and replant without needing to run crops through processing stations. Everlasting Chirpy Plum Seeds

At the Senior Farmer tier, you unlock the Eternal Blessings skill from the Farming profession tree. When this skill is active, every regular harvest has a chance to produce an Everlasting Seed instead of a normal crop. Everlasting Chirpy Plum Seeds work like permanent plants: after each harvest, the crop regrows automatically without needing to be replanted or re-seeded.

Once you have an Everlasting Chirpy Plum planted, the seed cost effectively drops to zero for every subsequent harvest. This pushes the gold-per-day from 172.0 all the way up to 269.3 Coins/day (since you keep all 2,020 Coins of revenue with no 730 Coin seed deduction). Over a full Summer season, a field of Everlasting Chirpy Plums generates massive income with minimal ongoing effort.

Chirpy Plum is one of the best crops to target for Everlasting Seeds. Its high per-unit sell price means the seed cost savings compound significantly over time. An Everlasting Chirpy Plum seed saves 730 Coins every 7.5 days, or roughly 97 Coins per day, which adds up quickly across a large field.

Tips for obtaining Everlasting Chirpy Plum Seeds faster:

• Upgrade the Eternal Blessings skill as soon as you reach Senior Farmer. Higher blessing levels increase the conversion chance.

• Plant large batches of regular Chirpy Plums. The more you harvest, the more chances you have to trigger an Everlasting Seed drop.

• Everlasting Seeds can also drop from Islandpedia entries and lucky chests found while tilling soil.

• If you remove an Everlasting Chirpy Plum from its tile, the Everlasting Seed returns to your inventory. You can replant it wherever you like without losing it.

Among Summer Expert crops grown on standard Farmland, Chirpy Plum offers the best daily return. Zapweed has a longer growth time and Fluffbean yields slightly less per day. Honeyvine grows on a Trellis and regrows after harvest, which gives it a different farming rhythm. The Intermediate-tier crops (Corn, Blueberry) are accessible earlier but produce significantly less income per day.

• Set up Sprinklers before planting. Chirpy Plum's 7.5-day growth cycle means missing even a single watering day delays your harvest and wastes valuable Summer time.

• Stockpile Chirpy Plum Seeds before Summer begins. Since Graminova sells them year-round, buy in bulk during Spring so you are ready to plant the moment Summer starts.

• Place Bee Houses around your Chirpy Plum fields. Bee pollination can reduce the effective growth time to about 2 days, letting you harvest the same field multiple times in a single Summer.

• Once you unlock the Grinder, process some of your harvested Chirpy Plums back into seeds (2 fruits per seed bag). This eliminates the 730 Coin seed cost and raises your effective daily profit.
