Overview

Porygon2 is a Normal-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Virtual Pokemon (Dex #219). An upgraded version of Porygon, Porygon2 was created by loading Porygon with special software designed for space exploration. Its improved AI allows it to learn new behaviors that were not part of its original programming.

Porygon2 carries the Recycle specialty, which lets it convert waste materials into useful crafting resources. It is the middle stage of the three-member Porygon evolution family, sitting between Porygon and Porygon-Z.

Habitat

Porygon2 can be found at one habitat: the Work Desk (#166).

"Sit on the office chair and type away at the computer. If you feel tired, grab a beverage and take a break!"

Porygon2 is the only Pokemon attracted to the Work Desk habitat. It is a Rare visitor, so it may take several attempts before it appears. The Work Desk can be built in the following zones: Withered Wastelands, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, Sparkling Skylands, Palette Town, and Cloud Island.

How to Befriend

Build the Work Desk habitat by placing one Office Desk, one Laptop, one Mug, and one Office Chair near each other. Once the habitat is complete, Porygon2 may visit it. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.

Because Porygon2 is classified as Rare, it will not appear as frequently as Common visitors. Be patient and check the habitat regularly. Porygon2 is available during all times of day (Morning, Day, Evening, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy), so there is no need to wait for specific conditions.

Recycle Specialty

Porygon2 has the Recycle specialty. Pokemon with this specialty can convert unwanted waste materials into useful crafting ingredients. When stationed near waste materials, Porygon2 processes them into the following items:

This specialty is shared with several other Pokemon, including Porygon, Beldum, Metang, and Metagross. Having multiple Recycle Pokemon in the same area increases the rate at which waste is processed.

Comfort Preferences

Each Pokemon in Pokopia has a Comfy Level that reflects how happy it is in your area. Raising Porygon2's Comfy Level improves the area's Environment Level and strengthens your bond with it. Porygon2 has the following preferences:

Place bright decorations and lighting near Porygon2's habitat to match its ideal environment. Feed it Sour-flavored food for the largest Comfy Level boost. Surround its habitat with soft, strange, round, construction-themed, and colorful items to further increase its comfort.

The Porygon Line in Pokopia

Porygon2 belongs to a three-member evolution family. In the main Pokemon series, Porygon evolves into Porygon2 when traded with an Up-Grade, and Porygon2 evolves into Porygon-Z when traded with a Dubious Disc. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each member must be found at its own habitat independently.

Porygon-Z is the most important of the three for late-game progression. Its Rarify specialty produces Rare Pokemetal, which is required for crafting the Tidal Bell and Clear Bell used to summon Lugia and Ho-Oh.

Tips

• Having both Porygon2 (Recycle) and Trubbish/Garbodor (also Recycle) in your town speeds up waste processing significantly.

• Porygon2 is particularly useful in Bleak Beach and Sparkling Skylands where Nonburnable Garbage and Wastepaper are abundant.

• To collect the full Porygon evolution family, you will need three separate habitats: Researcher's Desk for Porygon, Work Desk for Porygon2, and Game Corner Battle Zone for Porygon-Z.

• The Work Desk furniture pieces (Office Desk, Laptop, Mug, Office Chair) can be obtained through shops and gameplay progression. Check your crafting recipes and item shops if you are missing any pieces.

• Since Porygon2 is Rare, it may help to place the Work Desk in an area you visit frequently so you can check for it regularly without going out of your way.
