Overview

Articuno is an Ice/Flying-type Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Freeze Pokemon (Dex #294). It is one of the three Legendary Birds from the Kanto region, alongside Zapdos and Moltres. Articuno has the Fly specialty, allowing it to carry you directly to any Pokemon you are searching for in the Pokedex.

Unlike regular Pokemon that appear at habitats, Articuno requires building a massive structure called the Freezing Chambers in Palette Town. This construction project demands significant resources and a crew of 15 Pokemon with specific specialties.

How to Obtain

Articuno cannot be encountered through standard habitats. Instead, you must build the Freezing Chambers, a large-scale construction project in Palette Town.

Finding the Kit

The Freezing Chambers Kit is located on the eastern island of Palette Town, atop the waterfalls. You need to access Palette Town first by learning Rock Smash in Withered Wasteland, breaking the western wall near the Pokemon Center, and reconstructing a bridge to reach the area.

Construction Materials

Ice is the trickiest material to gather. The best source is near the location where you found the kit itself, in the underground mines near the eastern island's waterfalls.

Pokemon Crew Requirements

You need 15 Pokemon total assigned to the construction project. Four must have specific specialties (Build, Water, Search, and Crush), while the remaining 11 can be any Pokemon. Construction takes until the next in-game day to complete.

Fly

Articuno has the Fly specialty. If you speak to a Pokemon with the Fly specialty while using the Pokedex to search for another Pokemon, the Fly Pokemon can take you directly to that Pokemon's location. This makes Articuno an excellent exploration companion, especially for tracking down rare Pokemon across distant islands.

Preferences

Articuno prefers cool environments. Place water features, breezy items, and luxury decorations near the Freezing Chambers to keep it comfortable. Its taste for Sour-flavored foods means Sour berries are the best gift choices.

Tips

• Start gathering Stone and Ice early. These materials are needed in bulk (50 each) and can take time to accumulate.

• Crystal Fragments and Pokemetal are rarer but only require 10 each. Focus on mining deep underground for Crystal Fragments.

• You can only build one Legendary Bird structure per day due to their massive size. Plan your construction order in advance.

• The Freezing Chambers creates frozen mountains with a mystical atmosphere. Consider placing it near water features for a cohesive icy theme.

• Completing all three bird structures is required for the Tidal Bell recipe, so plan to build all three eventually.
