Town Events

Overview

Town Events are scheduled activities in Paralives that take place throughout the open world. They offer Parafolk opportunities to travel around town, meet other characters, acquire items, and develop their skills and knowledge. As of April 2026, all known Town Events are held in public spaces and are completely free of charge to attend.

Town Events are announced through The New Paper, the local in-game newspaper. Each event runs on a specific weekly schedule, occurring on designated days at predetermined locations. Players who keep up with The New Paper will know when and where events are happening, allowing them to plan their Paras' week around the activities that interest them most.

The New Paper

The New Paper is a daily newspaper that appears at the beginning of every day during Live Mode. It serves as the primary source of information about what is happening around town. The newspaper announces upcoming Town Events, provides insight into other opportunities available in the area, and features quotes from local residents and the mayor, Mayor Gloomberg.

When reviewing the newspaper, players can select from the left sidebar to browse previous issues in case they missed something from an earlier day. This archive system ensures that players who skip a day or forget to check the paper can still catch up on important announcements. The New Paper also provides gameplay-relevant information such as discount offers and other opportunities that can affect household finances.

Confirmed Town Events

Four Town Events have been confirmed as of the Early Access period. Each event occurs on a fixed weekly schedule and takes place at specific locations within the town's districts.

Astronomy Club

The Astronomy Club meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Mountain Top park. During club sessions, attendees observe rare space phenomena using telescopes. This event is particularly valuable for Paras interested in developing their Science knowledge, as participation provides a boost to that knowledge category. The Astronomy Club also gives Paras access to telescopes without needing to purchase one for their home, making it an economical way to engage with stargazing activities.

Treasure Hunt

The Treasure Hunt takes place every Thursday at Castle Plaza in the Old Town district. During this event, Paras search for red chests scattered around the area. Each chest contains random Build Mode items that the Para can take home. The items found during Treasure Hunts are distinct from regular collectibles, providing unique rewards that cannot be obtained through other gameplay activities. This event encourages exploration and gives players a reason to visit Old Town on a regular basis.

Weekend Market

The Weekend Market is held every Sunday at Castle Plaza in Old Town. This event features rotating stalls selling decorative oddities, art, and other items. The selection changes from week to week, giving players a reason to check back regularly. In addition to the market stalls, the Premium Gym sets up at the event offering food and fitness machines. Paras who interact with the gym equipment at the Weekend Market can develop their Fitness knowledge and Exercising skill.

Yoga Classes

Yoga Classes are organized by the Premium Gym and take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Unlike the other events which are held at a single location, Yoga Classes rotate between three venues: the Community Center, a park in the Industrial District, and the Mountain Top park. Each session accommodates up to 8 participants. Yoga provides accelerated gains in both Fitness knowledge and the Exercising skill, making it one of the most efficient ways to develop physical abilities in the game.

Event Schedule

Attending Events

To attend a Town Event, the player simply directs their Para to travel to the event location during the scheduled day. Since the town in Paralives is a fully open world with no loading screens between lots, Paras can walk directly to the event venue or take the bus for faster travel. Once at the location, the Para can participate in the event activities, interact with other attendees, and collect any available rewards.

All currently known Town Events are free to attend, so there is no Paradimes cost for participation. This makes Town Events accessible to all households regardless of financial status, and they serve as a reliable way to develop skills and acquire items without spending money.

Skill and Knowledge Development

Town Events are closely integrated with the skill and knowledge systems in Paralives. Attending events provides opportunities to progress in related areas that might otherwise require purchasing equipment or dedicated training time at home. The Astronomy Club builds Science knowledge, the Weekend Market and Yoga Classes develop Fitness knowledge and the Exercising skill, and all events provide social opportunities that can contribute to Together Cards with other Paras present at the event.

The knowledge system works alongside individual skills. As a Para gains knowledge in a broader subject (such as Science or Fitness), related specific skills become easier to level up. This means that regular event attendance can accelerate overall skill development beyond just the direct gains from the event itself.

Future Events

The developers have indicated that more Town Events exist beyond the four detailed above, though specific information about additional events remains limited. As Early Access development continues and new features are added to the game, the roster of available Town Events is expected to grow. The modular schedule system and the variety of town locations provide ample room for new events to be introduced in future updates.
