Full rewrite with all three degree programs, homework system, graduation timeline, campus locations, and career interaction details
University is an optional educational path for Young Adult Zois. Attending university means enrolling at one of two campuses, choosing a degree, attending classes, and completing homework over roughly 8 to 10 in-game days before graduating. University is not required for any career during Early Access, but it provides structured skill development and a different daily routine from working or staying at home.
University of Youngsung is located in Dowon. Bliss Bay University is located in Bliss Bay. Both campuses offer the same three degree programs with identical structures. The only difference is location. A Zoi living in Dowon attends Youngsung, and a Zoi living in Bliss Bay attends Bliss Bay University.
Both universities also employ Professors as part of the career system. The Professor career path (Assistant, Full, Distinguished) is based at these institutions.
Enrollment is instant. Open the smartphone's School app, select the university, pick a degree program, and confirm. There are no admission requirements, no entrance exams, no GPA thresholds, and no tuition fees. Any Young Adult Zoi can enroll at any time.
The one restriction is that a Zoi cannot hold a job and attend university at the same time. Enrolling in university while employed means quitting the current job. If a Zoi wants to work and study, they must choose one or the other.
Three degree programs are available at both campuses:
Covers management, organizational strategy, and financial concepts. This degree aligns with corporate careers like Office Worker at Aramir Group (Dowon) or Plutus Financial (Bliss Bay), and the Entertainment Planning career at Adam Entertainment. Coursework builds Critical Thinking and Rhetoric skills.
Focuses on programming, software development, and digital technology. Computer Science aligns with the Developer career at DW Soft and Blue Moon Soft, and the Pro Gamer career at DG Esports. Coursework builds the Programming skill and Critical Thinking.
Covers digital art, media production, and creative design. This degree connects to the Media Production skill, the Art skill, and creative careers. Coursework involves video editing, photography, and visual art projects.
University classes run 3 days per week from 10 AM to 5 PM. During class hours, the university functions as a rabbit hole. The Zoi enters the campus building and disappears for the duration. Players cannot follow them inside or control their actions during class time. Periodic updates about what is happening during lectures may appear, similar to the rabbit hole system used in off-site careers.
The remaining 4 days per week are free. On non-class days, the Zoi can work on homework, build skills, socialize, or handle other activities.
University assigns 2 homework tasks per day. These assignments typically involve reading textbooks or completing work on the computer. Homework appears in the Zoi's task list and must be completed before the next class day.
Reading assignments involve interacting with a bookshelf, textbook, or tablet. Computer assignments require the Zoi to sit at a desk and use a computer or laptop. Both types of homework build the skills associated with the chosen degree program. Homework completion counts toward graduation progress.
Graduation happens after roughly 8 to 10 in-game days of consistent class attendance and homework completion. At the default day length of 90 minutes, this translates to approximately 12 to 15 hours of real time at 1x speed.
There is no formal graduation ceremony in the current build. The Zoi simply completes their degree and gains the graduated status. After graduating, the Zoi is free to apply for any career.
During Early Access, no career requires a degree. All jobs can be obtained without attending university. The Career app on the smartphone does not filter positions based on education level.
University is purely optional. Its value comes from the skill experience gained during coursework and the structured routine it provides for Young Adult Zois who are not ready to enter the workforce immediately. Future updates may introduce degree requirements for certain career paths, but this has not been confirmed.
A typical university week looks like this:
Class days (3 per week): The Zoi leaves for campus before 10 AM and returns after 5 PM. After returning home, they need to complete 2 homework tasks before the evening ends. This leaves limited time for other activities on class days.
Free days (4 per week): No classes. The Zoi can complete pending homework early, work on skills, visit friends, explore the city, or handle household tasks. Free days are also a good time to fulfill Urges and earn Purr Coins.
Managing needs on class days requires some planning. The Zoi spends 7 hours at campus, so hunger, energy, and social needs should be topped up before leaving. Eating breakfast and getting a full night's sleep beforehand helps.
Since no Early Access career requires a degree, the decision to attend university comes down to preference. Here is what each path offers:
University: Structured skill development, no income during enrollment, 8-10 day time investment, good for building Programming, Critical Thinking, Art, or Media Production skills before entering the workforce.
Immediate employment: Income from day one, on-the-job skill building, ability to start climbing the career ladder immediately. Part-time jobs can supplement skill training at home.
Players who want to maximize early income should skip university and go straight into a career. Players who want a well-rounded skill foundation before committing to a career path may prefer the university route.
Five additional cities are planned for inZOI: Brusimo, Goldenfield, Winiber, Haegang, and Recalleta. Whether these cities will have their own university campuses has not been confirmed. Currently, higher education is only available in Dowon and Bliss Bay.
