Selfie Spots

Selfie spots, also called photo spots, are designated locations scattered throughout the cities of inZOI where your Zoi can pose and snap a selfie. Each spot is marked by a small camera icon on the ground, making it easy to identify while exploring. When you walk up to one of these markers and interact with it, the game presents a "Take Selfie" option. Your Zoi will then pull out their phone and take a photo on the spot.
Selfie spots serve several gameplay purposes. They are tied to the Media Production skill, providing a quick way to earn experience in that skill tree. They also connect to the urge system through the "Wants to Take a Selfie at a Local Attraction" urge, which rewards Meow Coins when fulfilled. Beyond mechanical rewards, selfie spots encourage exploration by placing camera markers at scenic landmarks, parks, and beaches across Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya.
Taking a selfie at a designated spot is straightforward. While controlling your Zoi in Live Mode, look for the small camera icon on the ground at parks, beaches, and other public attractions. Walk your Zoi close to the marker and click on it to bring up the interaction menu. Select "Take Selfie" and your Zoi will pull out their smartphone, strike a pose, and snap a photo. The entire action takes only a few seconds, so you can visit multiple spots in a single outing.
It is worth noting that selfie spots are different from the general Photo Mode accessible through the toolbar at the top of the screen. Photo Mode lets you pause the game, reposition a free camera, adjust field of view and depth of field, apply filters, and capture screenshots from any angle. The selfie spot interaction, by contrast, is an in-world gameplay action performed by your Zoi. Only the selfie spot action counts toward the Media Production skill; screenshots taken through Photo Mode do not contribute skill experience.
Selfie spots are found in all three cities. They tend to appear at scenic landmarks, public parks, beaches, and other popular gathering areas. The table below summarizes confirmed locations and the types of spots you can expect in each city.
City | Known Photo Spot Areas | Notes |
|---|---|---|
City parks, scenic paths, cultural landmarks | Dowon's urban landscape features selfie spots near its parks and public attractions. Explore the city's cultural areas and green spaces to find camera markers. | |
North Beach pier, shoreline paths, beach areas | Bliss Bay has a high concentration of photo spots along the coast. The North Beach pier is a particularly popular area with multiple camera markers. | |
Main island beaches, scenic overlooks | Cahaya's tropical setting includes photo spots near the beaches on the main island. Players have reported finding camera markers along the shoreline. |
Since selfie spots are spread throughout each city, discovering them all takes time. There is no in-game map overlay that highlights every spot, so you will need to keep an eye out for the camera icon while walking around scenic areas. Parks and beaches are the most reliable places to look first.
Some Zois will occasionally develop the "Wants to Take a Selfie at a Local Attraction" urge. This urge appears as part of the urge system, which gives Zois spontaneous desires based on their personality traits and values. To trigger this specific urge, your Zoi needs two things: the Autonomy value and the Taking Photos preference. Not every Zoi will experience this urge, so it depends on how you have configured your character's personality.
To fulfill the urge, head to a local attraction like a park or beach and find one of the camera icon markers. Interact with it and select "Take Selfie." Completing the urge rewards your Zoi with 5 Meow Coins and applies the Tranquil mood, which provides a positive emotional boost. The in-game description for this urge reads: "This Zoi wants to preserve a memorable moment in time."
Urge Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Urge Name | Wants to Take a Selfie at a Local Attraction |
Required Value | Autonomy |
Required Preference | Taking Photos |
How to Fulfill | Interact with a camera icon at a park, beach, or other attraction |
Reward | 5 Meow Coins + Tranquil mood |
Taking selfies at photo spots is one of the ways to level up the Media Production skill. Each time your Zoi snaps a selfie at a designated spot, you gain a small amount of experience toward this skill. The experience per selfie is relatively low compared to other methods like editing videos on a computer, but the action itself is very fast. Because of this speed, you can visit several selfie spots in a row and accumulate experience through repetition.
At higher Media Production skill levels, your Zoi unlocks the ability to create and sell videos, which becomes a more efficient way to earn both experience and income. However, selfie spots remain useful throughout the game as a low-effort method for topping off skill progress, especially when you are already out exploring the city. The key thing to remember is that only the in-world selfie action at designated spots counts toward the skill. Taking screenshots through the Photo Mode toolbar does not affect Media Production at all.
Media Production Method | Speed | XP Per Action | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
Selfie at photo spots | Very fast | Low | Quick, casual leveling while exploring |
Posting selfies on Bubbly | Fast | Low | Combining social actions with skill gains |
Editing videos on computer | Slow | High | Focused skill grinding at higher levels |
Creating advertisement videos | Slow | High | Earning income (unlocks at level 5) |
In addition to snapping selfies at designated spots, your Zoi can also post selfies to Bubbly, the in-game social media platform. To do this, click on your Zoi, select Smartphone from the interaction menu, and scroll through the options until you find "Post a Selfie on Social Media." Your Zoi will pull out their phone, take a quick selfie, and upload it directly to Bubbly.
Posting to Bubbly has its own requirement: your Zoi needs a Challenger Value of at least 60 points. The Challenger Value represents a desire for adventure and breaking out of daily routines. Activities like painting, singing, socializing, and surfing can increase this value, though how quickly it rises depends on your Zoi's traits and lifestyle. Characters with the Adventurer trait have a natural advantage since their personality aligns well with the Challenger Value.
Posting a selfie on Bubbly satisfies the "Wants to Post a Selfie on Social Media" urge if it is active, grants Meow Coins, and produces a Tranquil emotional state. It also contributes a small amount of experience to the Media Production skill, similar to snapping selfies at photo spots around town.
InZOI has two distinct photography systems, and it is easy to confuse them. The table below clarifies the differences.
Feature | Selfie Spots | Photo Mode |
|---|---|---|
Access | Walk to a camera icon marker in the world | Click the camera icon in the top toolbar (see Photo Mode Guide) |
What happens | Zoi pulls out phone and takes a selfie | Game pauses; free camera with filters, FOV, and DOF controls |
Skill XP | Grants Media Production experience | No skill effect |
Urge fulfillment | Can fulfill selfie-related urges | Does not fulfill urges |
Output | In-world action (no saved file by default) | Screenshot saved to Photos folder |
Poses | Automatic pose during selfie action | Full pose and expression selection |
Both systems have their place. Photo Mode is the better tool for capturing beautiful screenshots with full creative control. Selfie spots, on the other hand, are gameplay interactions that feed into your Zoi's skill development, social media presence, and emotional well-being.
Look for the small camera icon on the ground at parks, beaches, piers, and other public attractions. These markers are your signal that a selfie spot is available.
The North Beach pier in Bliss Bay has a high concentration of photo spots. If you need to knock out several selfies quickly, head there first.
Selfie spots are a fast way to chip away at Media Production experience while doing other activities. Take a selfie whenever you pass a camera marker during your daily routine.
If your Zoi has the Autonomy value and Taking Photos preference, keep an eye on the urge panel. The selfie urge is an easy source of 5 Meow Coins each time it appears.
Remember that Photo Mode screenshots (taken from the toolbar camera) do not count toward Media Production. Only the in-world selfie action at designated spots provides skill experience.
To post selfies to Bubbly, you need at least 60 Challenger Value points. Build this stat through adventurous activities like surfing, painting, and socializing.
Explore all three cities thoroughly. Each city has its own set of selfie spots at different landmarks, so traveling between Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya gives you the most variety.
