Premade Families
February 28, 2026 at 08:29 PM
Major expansion: added specific family compositions with member names, starting Meow amounts, residences for all 12 housed families across Dowon and Bliss Bay; added notable backstories (Murphy adoption, Yoon fresh start, Martin wealth); corrected Kucingku to Cahaya; added household management details; added 'Not in the City' system explanation
Premade families are non-player families created by inZOI Studio that populate every game world with pre-established characters and storylines. These families come with fixed Traits, Desired Lives, Relationships, and starting assets. They are always present when starting a new game, living in designated lots across Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. Approximately 77 premade families exist across Dowon and Bliss Bay, ranging from wealthy four-person households to single Zois starting fresh on their own.
Each premade family comes with a set of fixed attributes defined by inZOI Studio:
Traits and Values: Every family member has pre-assigned personality traits from the 18 Enneagram-based types and a set of personal values
Desired Lives: Pre-set life goals that guide their autonomous behavior and long-term ambitions
Relationships: Established bonds between family members including spouses, parent-child, and sibling connections
Careers: Some premade Zois hold jobs at businesses and organizations around the city
Homes: Pre-built lots with furniture and decorations that match the family's lifestyle and wealth level
Starting Meow: Each family begins with a specific amount of Meow (in-game currency), ranging from 3,000 to 200,000
Dowon is a Seoul-inspired urban metropolis with approximately 30 premade families. Seven of these families occupy fixed residences at the start of the game, while the remaining 23 are categorized as "Not in the City" and can be moved into available lots through Edit City mode.
Family | Members | Residence | Starting Meow |
|---|---|---|---|
Martin | David, Sophia, Emily, Luca | Gaya Apartments, Bldg 105 (10F) | 200,000 |
Hwang | Jinseop Hwang, Eunjae Yoon | Dowon Heights Building | 100,000 |
Lee (Kyeongtae) | Kyeongtae Lee (single) | Metro House | 77,500 |
Yoon | Hyunmin, Suyeon Bae, Bomin, Yoongkun | Varies | 62,500 |
Lee (Jean) | Jean Lee (single) | Moaville (1F) | 10,000 |
Park | Jeongsook Park, Chulsoo Park | Sandeul Villa | 7,500 |
Kim | Minjeong Kang, Junho Kim, Jihun Kim | Mugunghwa Villa | 5,000 |
The remaining Dowon families that are "Not in the City" include the Baek, Choi, Franklin, Harrington, Heo, Jenkins, Jin, Joo, Jung, Kane, Kang, Kim (two additional), Kwon, Park (two additional), Richardson, Ross, Ryu, Sato, Song, Sun, and Yang families. These can be moved into available properties through Edit City mode.
Bliss Bay is a Santa Monica-inspired coastal city with approximately 47 premade families. Five of these families occupy fixed residences, while the remaining 42 are available as "Not in the City" families.
Family | Members | Residence | Starting Meow |
|---|---|---|---|
Abbott | Steve, Jessica, Olivia | 19 Beachfront Drive | 125,000 |
Williams | Terry, Miles, Rebecca, Brandon, Ryan, Sophia | 1011 Willowtree Lane | 30,000 |
Collins | Matthew, Hazel, Abby, Emma, Becca | 420 Kingsbury Court | 25,000 |
Murphy | Nathan Murphy, Nathan Lucas | Ocean Bliss Apartment (12F) | 7,000 |
Yoon | Taejun Yoon, Hyejin Kim, Jihun, Seoyeon | Heaven Hill Apartments | 3,000 |
The Bliss Bay "Not in the City" roster includes families such as Armstrong, Brown, Cai, Carpenter, Chapman, Choi, Clark, Connor, Cooper, Cox, Fischer, Ford, Fowler, Freeman, Fujiwara, Garcia, Goodman, Greene, Hart, Harvey, Henry, Hudson, Hughes, Hwang, Jenkins, Kennedy, Louise, Ma, Mason, Moon, Morgan, Roberts, Sanders, Smith, Stewart, Thomas, Thompson, Turner, Wilson, Wood, Yang, and Yoo.
Cahaya (formerly known as "Kucingku" during development) is a Bali-inspired tropical island that launched on August 20, 2025 as part of the free Island Getaway DLC. The name "Cahaya" means "light" in Indonesian. While players can move families to Cahaya and create new households there, the city does not appear to have the same structured premade family system as Dowon and Bliss Bay at launch.
The Martin family is the wealthiest premade household in the entire game, starting with 200,000 Meow. David, Sophia, Emily, and Luca Martin live on the 10th floor of Gaya Apartments, Building 105, a twenty-story building in the center of Dowon. The building is described as housing "everyone, from newlyweds to the middle-aged."
The Murphy family has one of the most distinctive backstories among premade families. Nathan Lucas was adopted by Nathan Murphy after Murphy's ex-wife passed away. Murphy's ex-wife was also Nathan Lucas's biological mother, making their family connection both emotional and complex. They live together in the Ocean Bliss Apartment on the 12th floor with only 7,000 Meow.
Taejun Yoon, Hyejin Kim, and their children Jihun and Seoyeon live in Heaven Hill Apartments with only 3,000 Meow, making them the poorest housed family in Bliss Bay. Based on their Korean names, they likely relocated from Dowon (the Seoul-inspired city) to Bliss Bay, suggesting a "fresh start" narrative. A separate Yoon family also lives in Dowon.
With six members (Terry, Miles, Rebecca, Brandon, Ryan, and Sophia), the Williams family is the largest premade household in the game. They live at 1011 Willowtree Lane in Bliss Bay with 30,000 Meow. Since the maximum household size is 8 Zois, they still have room to grow.
Players can switch to controlling any premade family through the household management system in Edit City mode. This provides a pre-built starting experience with furnished homes, established social connections, and ongoing storylines crafted by inZOI Studio.
Premade family members can be modified through the family edit screen, but the options are more limited compared to original character creation. Traits, once assigned, cannot be changed for any Zoi. Players can modify appearance and some other attributes.
Players can manage premade families using several tools:
Move Zois Between Families: Access via City Map (M key) > Manage Zois > Manage Family tab > "Move Zois Between Families" button to split and merge households
Add Family Members: Use Smartphone > City Map > select family > "Add Family Member" to add new Zois, up to the 8 Zoi maximum per household
Delete Families: Entire families can be deleted through Edit City mode, but individual Zois cannot be directly removed from a family without moving them elsewhere first
Move Families: "Not in the City" families can be placed into available lots, and existing families can be relocated to different properties
If a household reaches the 8 Zoi maximum, pregnancies will automatically fail, so managing family size is important when playing larger premade families.
The majority of premade families (around 65 out of 77) are categorized as "Not in the City." These families exist in the game data but do not occupy any lot when starting a new game. They can be moved into available properties through Edit City mode, giving players control over which families populate their neighborhoods. Some players have reported that developers removed certain idle premade families in post-launch updates to make room for randomly generated townies, so the available roster may differ between game versions.
Premade families serve several important functions in the inZOI simulation:
They populate cities so the world feels alive and inhabited from the very start of a new game
They provide potential friends, rivals, romantic interests, and neighbors for player-created Zois
Their Karma levels and behaviors contribute to city-wide dynamics like Rumors
They hold jobs at various employers, filling roles that keep the city's economy running
They participate in Social Events and public activities around the city
They operate under the same autonomous behavior system as player Zois, pursuing their Desired Lives independently
