The lottery is a quick-play gambling activity in inZOI that lets Zois purchase tickets at lottery stands scattered around the cities. Each ticket costs 5 Meow, and outcomes range from small losses to a jackpot of 1,000,000 Meow. While not a reliable income source compared to Careers, the lottery can produce massive payouts when combined with high Karma and specific buffs. The activity is entirely on-screen: the Zoi walks to a lottery stand, interacts with it, and sees the result immediately.

How It Works

Lottery tickets are purchased by interacting with a Lottery Stand and selecting "Buy a Lottery Ticket." Each ticket costs 5 Meow. After purchasing, the game immediately determines the result and awards any winnings. There is no daily ticket limit; Zois can buy as many tickets as they can afford in a single visit. Tickets cannot be purchased through the Smartphone; the Zoi must physically visit a stand.

Lottery Stand Locations

Lottery stands are placed at fixed locations in Dowon and Bliss Bay. The two cities use different stand designs:

Dowon

Dowon uses outdoor freestanding black booth designs. Four stands are placed around the city:

Bliss Bay

Bliss Bay uses smaller indoor kiosk designs, typically placed next to refrigerators inside shops:

Cahaya

Cahaya does not have any pre-placed lottery stands. Players who want lottery access in Cahaya must place a stand manually using Build Mode on an editable street or lot. The piers in Cahaya are universally editable, making them a convenient placement option.

Home Lottery Stand

Players can also purchase a lottery stand and place it on their home lot through Build Mode, eliminating the need to travel:

Both types are found under Build Mode > Furniture > Other. Having a home stand allows rapid consecutive ticket purchases without travel time.

Prize Tiers

The lottery does not display official odds, but consistent player reports across community forums reveal three observable payout ranges:

Without any buffs, the lottery is almost always a net loss. The real payoff comes from stacking karma effects and donut buffs, which dramatically shift the odds.

Karma and the Lottery

The Karma system has a direct and powerful impact on lottery outcomes. Higher karma generally increases the chance of winning, but the biggest payouts come from activating a specific karma reward.

The Karma Intervene Method

This is the most profitable lottery strategy in the game. It requires a household with at least two Zois:

1. Raise the first Zoi (Zoi A) to Best karma level. The fastest method is meditating on a yoga mat, though donating and performing acts of kindness also work

2. Switch control to a second Zoi (Zoi B) in the same household

3. Open the City Map using Zoi B

4. Navigate to Karma Report > Karma Status

5. Find Zoi A in the list and click "Intervene"

6. Select "Compliment" (available because Zoi A has Best karma)

7. Switch back to Zoi A and open the Smartphone. A message from an "Anonymous Supporter" will appear

8. Read the message and choose "Win the Lottery!" from the three reward options

9. Visit a Lottery Stand and buy tickets. With this perk active, each ticket yields at least ~34,500 Meow, with a strong chance of hitting the 1,000,000 Meow jackpot

Important limitations of this method:

• The Intervene action can only be used once every 24 in-game hours

• The lottery buff lasts 24 in-game hours, during which every ticket purchased has boosted payouts

• Karma must remain at Best level to use Intervene again on the next cycle

• Avoid using Intervene between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM in-game time, as it may not work during this window

The other two reward options from the Anonymous Supporter message are "Daily Fortune" (a temporary luck boost) and "Family Health" (keeps family members healthy).

Karma Levels

The karma system has seven levels: Best, Good, Fair, Normal, Poor, Bad, and Terrible. Higher karma levels passively improve lottery odds even without the Intervene method, but the effect is modest compared to the active buff. The v0.1.6 hotfix (April 22, 2025) reduced the frequency of karma-related interactions by 50% and adjusted the evaluation scale.

Lucky Donut

The Lucky Donut is a consumable item available from the Meow Store for 200 Meow Coins. Its description states that it "increases rewards from fishing, treasure hunts, claw machines, and lotteries." When active, lottery winnings are significantly boosted. Players have reported accumulating over 3,000,000 Meow through rapid ticket purchases while the Lucky Donut effect is active. The Lucky Donut can be combined with the karma Intervene method for even larger returns.

Four-Leaf Clover Dream

When a Zoi sleeps, a four-leaf clover thought bubble may randomly appear above their head. This signals a temporary luck boost. Players who buy lottery tickets the following day during this window report significantly higher winning rates. The dream is passive and random; it cannot be forced or scheduled.

Life of Abundance Urge

Zois with the Life of Abundance Desired Life can develop a "Wants to Buy a Lottery Ticket" Urge. Buying a ticket fulfills this Urge and contributes to their life satisfaction, regardless of whether the ticket wins or loses.

Strategies

Known Issues and Balance Concerns

• Karma exploit: The Intervene method produces guaranteed high payouts (34,500+ Meow per ticket) during the buff window. Community members have flagged this as potentially unintended, and a Steam guide detailing the exploit was removed for violating content guidelines

• Repeated jackpots: Players report winning the 1,000,000 Meow jackpot multiple times in a single session when using the karma perk, which the community considers unbalanced for an Early Access economy

• No stands in Cahaya: The third city has no pre-placed lottery stands, which some players found confusing. Build Mode placement is the only workaround

• Economy impact: Multiple community discussions note that the lottery, when combined with karma buffs, makes earning Meow too easy. Players expect Krafton to add money sinks or adjust the system before full release

• Stack buffs: Combine the karma Intervene method with the Lucky Donut for maximum returns

• Yoga mats are fast: Meditating on a yoga mat is the fastest way to raise karma to Best level

• Buy a home stand: The 19,800 Meow investment pays for itself after a single buffed ticket purchase

• No cooldown on tickets: Once at a stand, buy as many tickets as you want. There is no per-ticket delay or daily cap

• Check your karma: Without any buffs, the lottery is almost always a net loss. Only gamble seriously when you have a karma buff or Lucky Donut active
