Festivals are large-scale seasonal celebrations in inZOI that transform city parks with themed booths, special activities, unique rewards, and festive decorations. Each festival corresponds to a particular season and brings limited-time content that players can only access while the event is active. Festivals were first introduced with the Halloween seasonal events in the v0.4.0 update (October 2025), followed by the Winter and Year-End Festival in v0.5.0 (December 2025), and expanded further with the v0.7.0 anniversary update (March 2026) that added the Spring Festival and a formal calendar system to tie all seasonal events together.
As of v0.7.0, inZOI features three major seasonal festivals: the Spring Festival, the Halloween Festival (fall), and the Winter and Year-End Festival (winter). These celebrations take place across all three cities in the game, though the experience differs depending on each city's climate and geography. The festival system encourages players to engage with seasonal mechanics, collect limited-edition items, and explore holiday-specific activities that are not available during the rest of the year.
The v0.7.0 update introduced a 28-day month calendar that serves as the backbone for seasonal events. Each in-game year is divided into four seasons: Spring (Blossoming), Summer (Verdant), Fall (Plentiful), and Winter (Fairytale). Every season lasts 7 in-game days, meaning a full year completes in 28 days. At the default day length of 96 minutes, one real-time season takes roughly 11 hours and 12 minutes at normal speed.
The calendar displays key dates including holidays, birthdays, and due dates for pregnant Zois. Seasonal festivals are marked automatically on the calendar so players can plan ahead. When a festival begins, the game sends a notification and the relevant city parks are decorated with booths, landmarks, and seasonal props. According to the 2026 development roadmap, the September update will expand this system further by adding city festivals and user-created holidays to the calendar.
Festivals are closely tied to the weather system. Temperature shifts across seasons affect Zoi behavior and health. Wearing clothes that do not match the current temperature can cause illness, which requires a First Aid Kit to treat. The game features four weather types (sunny, cloudy, rainy, and snowy), and Zois automatically adjust their outfits based on the conditions. Weather changes caused by manual adjustments in City Edit Mode revert to the default seasonal weather after one in-game hour.
Each city has a distinct climate that shapes how festivals look and feel:
Dowon experiences all four seasons with noticeable temperature shifts. Winters are cold with snow, making it the most atmospheric location for the Winter Festival. Dowon's Central Park hosts the largest festival setup.
Bliss Bay maintains a warm climate year-round, reflecting its Southern California inspiration. Even during the winter festival period, Bliss Bay does not see snow under normal conditions. Liberty Square is the festival venue.
Cahaya has a tropical climate without cold winters. The festival takes place at Barat Beach, giving it a unique coastal flavor compared to the park settings in other cities.
The Spring Festival was added in the v0.7.0 update as part of the seasonal festival framework tied to the new calendar system. It takes place during the Spring (Blossoming) season, which lasts 7 in-game days. The festival celebrates the arrival of warmer weather, blooming flowers, and the renewal of outdoor life across the three cities.
During the Spring Festival, city parks feature themed booths with spring-specific decorations including floral arrangements, pastel color schemes, and seasonal props. The v0.7.0 update also introduced flower shops, six new farmable flowers, and the ability for Zois to craft bouquets and flower baskets, all of which tie into the spring theme. Zois with high Gardening skill levels can cause flowers to gain special visual effects, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Because the Spring Festival was introduced alongside the broader calendar system, specific details about its unique rewards, booth inventories, and limited-time items are still being expanded by the development team. The September 2026 roadmap update promises to add city festivals and user-created holidays to the calendar, which is expected to further enrich the Spring Festival experience.
The Halloween Festival was the first seasonal event added to inZOI, arriving with the v0.4.0 update on October 30, 2025. It takes place during the Fall (Plentiful) season and brings a wide range of spooky activities, from pumpkin farming and carving to trick-or-treating and ghost fish. The update also introduced ghost gameplay, allowing Zois to continue existing as spirits after death.
Pumpkins were added as a new crop that can be grown on a farm plot. Players who prefer not to grow their own can purchase pumpkins from the Farming Supply Store or on the Pocket Market. Once harvested, pumpkins can be processed at a crafting table to create Jack-o'-Lanterns with various shapes and facial expressions. These carved pumpkins serve dual purposes: Zois can wear them as headgear or place them around the home as decorations.
Three pumpkin-based recipes were introduced alongside the crop: Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin Pie, and Pumpkin Candy. These dishes are prepared using the standard cooking system and require harvested pumpkins as an ingredient.
The Trick or Treat system lets players set up their property for nightly visits from children. By placing a Halloween Candy Basket on the property, costumed children arrive each evening looking for candy. Talking to the visiting children and giving them treats rewards players with various Halloween-themed items, including exclusive decorations and build mode objects. The type of candy given can influence which gifts are received in return.
During the Halloween season, five types of ghost fish spawn in the seas and lakes at night between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. These spectral fish emit a faint glow, making them visually distinct from regular catches. Players can display ghost fish in an aquarium for a spooky atmosphere, sell them for Meow currency, or collect all five types to complete the ghost fish collection.
The v0.4.0 update also introduced a system where Zois continue as ghosts after death. When a Zoi passes away, the player can choose to enter the afterlife as a ghost for three in-game days. During this period, ghosts can satisfy urges related to their cause of death, unlock ghost-exclusive skills, and interact with objects using Spirit Power (which regenerates over time and through conversations with other ghosts). Through a character named Claire at the AR Library, ghost Zois can accept missions that reveal the stories of other ghosts and earn karma as a reward.
After three days, the player chooses between ascending to the afterlife or attending their own funeral. A Funeral Home, Columbarium, and Cemetery were added as new property types, and urns can be enshrined at the cemetery using the "Enshrine Deceased" interaction.

The Winter and Year-End Festival was introduced in the v0.5.0 update on December 23, 2025. It brings a holiday atmosphere to every city with themed parks, festive booths, choir performances, and snowfall. The inaugural event ran from December 23, 2025 through January 31, 2026. This was the first festival to feature a structured booth system with distinct vendor types.
Each city's main park is outfitted with three types of festival booths during the Winter Festival:
Booth | Offerings | Details |
|---|---|---|
Snack Booth | Winter-themed treats | Sells candy canes, hot chocolate, and gingerbread cookies |
Gift Booth | Holiday Festival Gift Boxes | Gift boxes grant up to 32 different limited-edition build items including garland decorations |
Ingredients Booth | Crafting kits | Sells up to 3 different crafting kits including the Cookie Man Crafting Kit for baking |
When the festival announcement text message arrives, players who accept it receive 5 Holiday Festival Gift Boxes delivered directly to their home, containing up to 19 different build items. Additional gift boxes are delivered at midnight on the first and second festival nights, each containing up to 3 different build items. More gift boxes can be purchased from the Gift Booth in the park, with up to 32 different limited-edition building items available from those boxes.
During the festival, choirs sing holiday carols in each city's main park from 12:15 PM to 10:00 PM. The three performance locations are:
The choir performances add ambient holiday music to the park areas and contribute to the festive atmosphere. Zois in the vicinity can listen and enjoy the carols as a leisure activity.

Players can use City Edit Mode to temporarily change the season in a city, which alters the weather and visual effects. However, these manual changes revert to the city's default seasonal weather after one in-game hour.
Each festival introduces themed items for Build Mode that let players decorate their properties with seasonal flair. Some items are permanently available after being unlocked, while others are exclusive to the event period.
The v0.7.0 update added 3 Holiday Landmarks and 3 Festival Booths as Build Mode items. These allow players to set up their own miniature festival areas on their properties. Halloween build items include bedroom furniture, living room decorations, outdoor props, and special effect items such as fog machines and eerie lighting. Winter build items focus on garland decorations, festive furniture, and holiday-themed landmarks.
A common community request on the official forums is for the development team to make seasonal build items available outside of event periods, either through a rotating shop or by adding them to the permanent catalog. As of the v0.7.0 update, most festival-exclusive items remain tied to their respective events.

The 2026 development roadmap, shared during inZOI's first anniversary in March 2026, confirmed that the September 2026 update will add city festivals and user-created holidays to the calendar system. This means players will eventually be able to design their own custom celebrations and schedule them alongside the developer-created seasonal festivals. The summer season does not yet have a dedicated festival, but the expanded festival framework in September is expected to address that gap.
The roadmap also emphasized ongoing stability improvements and optimization throughout 2026, suggesting that existing festivals will receive polish and bug fixes alongside new seasonal content.
Check the calendar regularly. The 28-day calendar marks festival dates automatically. Plan your Zoi's schedule so they have free time when a festival begins.
Visit all three cities. Each city's festival venue has a different atmosphere due to its climate and geography. Dowon offers snowfall during winter, Bliss Bay has a warm coastal holiday vibe, and Cahaya's Barat Beach gives festivals a tropical twist.
Accept festival notifications. When the Winter Festival announcement arrives as a text message, accept it immediately to receive the 5 starter Holiday Festival Gift Boxes at your home.
Place a Halloween Candy Basket early. Set it up on your property as soon as the Halloween Festival starts. Children visit every night, and each evening of trick-or-treating can yield different rewards.
Fish at night during Halloween. Ghost fish only spawn between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Head to the coast or a lake after dark to find all five types.
Dress for the weather. Zois can fall ill if their clothing does not match the temperature. Equip winter outfits during the Winter Festival and lighter clothing during the Spring Festival to avoid needing a First Aid Kit.
Explore ghost gameplay. If a Zoi dies during the Halloween season, choosing the afterlife option lets you play as a ghost for three days with unique skills and missions. This is entirely optional, but it offers content that is unavailable outside of the ghost state.
Collect limited build items. Festival-exclusive build items may not return outside of the event period. Purchase or unlock as many as you can while the festival is active.
Attend choir performances. During the Winter Festival, choirs perform in city parks from 12:15 PM to 10:00 PM. Visiting during these hours adds to the festive experience.
Use City Edit Mode to preview seasons. If you want to see what a festival looks like with different weather, temporarily change the season in City Edit Mode. Keep in mind that manual weather changes revert after one in-game hour.
