Firefighter Career

Comprehensive featured article covering all five firefighter ranks, verified tasks, salaries, promotion path, and tips
The Firefighter career is one of the active careers available in inZOI, meaning players directly control their Zoi at the workplace rather than sending them into a rabbit hole. Based at the Dowon Fire Station in the southwest corner of Dowon, this career features five ranks and four promotions, making it the career with the most promotion stages currently in the game. Firefighters start with hands-on physical training and emergency preparedness tasks, then gradually transition into administrative and leadership duties as they climb the ranks.
The Firefighter career is exclusive to Dowon during Early Access. It is not available in Bliss Bay or other cities. Players who want to pursue this path must choose Dowon as their city when setting up their household.
To become a firefighter, a Zoi must meet the following requirements:
Age: Young Adult, Adult, or Middle-Aged. The career is unavailable to Teenagers and Elders.
City: The Zoi's household must be located in Dowon.
Application: Open the Zoi's smartphone, navigate to the Careers app, and find the Dowon Fire Station listing. Select Trainee Firefighter to apply.
Because this career has four promotions to work through, it is recommended to apply as early as Young Adult to give yourself enough in-game time to reach the highest rank before aging restricts further progression.
All five ranks share the same schedule:
Work days: 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday)
Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Days off: Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday
The three days off each week provide ample time for Zois to develop skills, maintain relationships, pursue hobbies, or manage a business on the side. Compared to the five-day-a-week schedule of the Idol Trainee career, the Firefighter schedule offers a better work-life balance.
The Firefighter career has five ranks, each paying progressively more Meow (the in-game currency). Each rank has a limit of 3 to 5 available positions, though this limit rarely affects single-player gameplay:
Trainee Firefighter — 297 Meow per pay cycle
Lieutenant — 594 Meow per pay cycle
Captain — 693 Meow per pay cycle
Battalion Chief — 1,197 Meow per pay cycle
Assistant Chief — 1,395 Meow per pay cycle
The salary nearly doubles from Trainee to Lieutenant, making that first promotion one of the most impactful pay raises in the game. The jump from Captain to Battalion Chief is similarly significant, increasing pay by over 500 Meow. The Assistant Chief position at 1,395 Meow per pay cycle is one of the more lucrative careers in Dowon.
Each workday is divided into a morning block and an afternoon block, each with a set of tasks that must be completed within a time limit. Failing to finish tasks within the allotted window slows promotion progress and can eventually lead to termination.
The entry-level position focuses on a combination of administrative duties and physical training:
Morning tasks (within a 4-hour window):
Change into uniform at the wardrobe (1 time)
Complete administrative work on a computer (45 minutes)
Attend a meeting in the meeting room (30 minutes, within a 3-hour sub-window)
Afternoon tasks (within a 5-hour window):
Work out in the weight room on fitness equipment (5 times)
Read the status board on a computer (45 minutes)
A helpful tip from the Game8 guide: unlike other workplaces where Zois have assigned desks, the Dowon Fire Station allows Zois to use any computer in the building for administrative tasks. If you are running behind on the clock, pick the closest available terminal.
The Lieutenant position shares an identical task list with the Trainee Firefighter. The only difference is the doubled salary (594 Meow instead of 297 Meow). There is no change in daily responsibilities, so players who have mastered the Trainee routine can continue their established workflow without adjustment.
At the Captain rank, the task list changes to introduce a heavier emphasis on physical fitness alongside continued administrative duties. The workout requirement is now split between morning and afternoon, with three sessions in each block:
Morning tasks (within a 4-hour window):
Change into uniform at the wardrobe (1 time)
Work out on fitness equipment (3 times)
Attend a meeting in the meeting room (30 minutes, within a 3-hour sub-window)
Afternoon tasks (within a 5-hour window):
Work out on fitness equipment (3 times)
Read the status board on a computer (45 minutes)
Complete administrative work on a computer (45 minutes)
The Game8 Captain guide recommends prioritizing workout tasks, as they are the most time-consuming. For the afternoon computer tasks, it is advisable to turn off Free Will (autonomy) to prevent your Zoi from wandering back to the weight room before finishing the administrative work.
The Battalion Chief rank represents a shift from field work to office and leadership duties. Upon reaching this rank, the Zoi receives their own private office located near the entrance of the fire station. Daily tasks at this rank focus primarily on documentation, reviewing reports, and managing station operations rather than physical training. The salary of 1,197 Meow per pay cycle makes this position significantly more lucrative than the Captain rank.
The final rank in the Firefighter career continues the office-oriented work introduced at Battalion Chief. Like the previous rank, the Assistant Chief has their own private office near the entrance and focuses mostly on documentation and administrative tasks. At 1,395 Meow per pay cycle, this is the highest-paying position in the Dowon Fire Station.
Promotions in the Firefighter career are earned through consistent job performance. The game tracks your progress via a promotion gauge visible in the Career section of your Zoi's smartphone:
Completing daily tasks: Each task must be finished within its allotted time window. Successfully completing all tasks each workday fills the promotion gauge. Failing tasks repeatedly slows progress significantly.
Consistent attendance: Missing work days or arriving late reduces your standing.
Maintaining needs: A Zoi whose needs (hunger, energy, hygiene, bladder) drop too low will perform tasks more slowly, increasing the risk of missed deadlines.
When the promotion gauge fills, the Zoi receives a notification on their smartphone. You can check your current promotion progress at any time from the Career option in the smartphone.
The Dowon Fire Station is a multi-room facility. Given the time-sensitive nature of each task, familiarizing yourself with the layout early on saves valuable time during shifts:
Wardrobe / Locker Room: Contains uniform cabinets. This is the first stop every shift to change into uniform.
Meeting Room: Used for the daily meeting task. Usually located on the upper floor.
Weight Room / Fitness Area: Contains fitness equipment for the workout-related tasks. Used heavily at the Trainee, Lieutenant, and Captain ranks.
Office Area: Multiple computers available for administrative work and status board reading. Any computer in the building can be used for these tasks.
Private Offices: Unlocked at the Battalion Chief and Assistant Chief ranks, located near the main entrance of the station.
The fire station is larger than some other workplaces, so learning the layout during your first shift helps prevent wasted time navigating the building on subsequent days.
Start this career as a Young Adult to allow enough time to reach Assistant Chief before aging constraints become a concern.
Learn the fire station floor plan during your first shift. Knowing where each task station is located prevents wasted time navigating between rooms.
For workout tasks, choose quick exercises like dumbbell lifts or lat pulldowns. Avoid slower activities like treadmill running and yoga, which take significantly longer to complete.
Keep your Zoi's needs topped off before each shift. Eat a meal, use the bathroom, and sleep well the night before to maximize on-the-job efficiency.
Disable Free Will (autonomy) during time-sensitive task blocks, especially the Captain rank's afternoon computer tasks. This prevents your Zoi from wandering away to do unrelated activities.
Workout tasks at the fire station level up the Fitness skill passively, which benefits your Zoi in other areas of life.
Use the three days off per week to build complementary skills like Cooking, Gardening, or Coffee Craft to generate additional income or open a business.
Save your game before starting a workday. If tasks go wrong or time runs out, you can reload and try a more efficient approach.
When running behind schedule on computer tasks, use the closest available terminal rather than walking to a specific desk. Any computer in the station works for both administrative work and status board reading.
The Firefighter career stands out as the career with the most promotion stages in inZOI, with four promotions across five total ranks. For comparison, the Idol Trainee career at Adam Entertainment has only three ranks (two promotions), and most other active careers have fewer stages. The Firefighter career rewards patient, long-term play and is ideal for players who enjoy watching their Zoi's career develop over an extended period.
The four-day work week also makes the Firefighter career more manageable than the Idol Trainee's five-day schedule, giving players more free time during the week to pursue skills, relationships, and side activities.
Other active careers available in Dowon include the Idol Trainee at Adam Entertainment, while Bliss Bay offers its own set of exclusive careers. Dowon also has various rabbit hole careers at companies like Aramir Group and Dowon Solutions that offer different salary structures.
