The Collection Log is a tracking and achievement system in inZOI that records every gathered item your household has ever collected. Introduced with the free Island Getaway update, the Collection Log gives completionist and achievement-oriented players a structured set of goals to work toward. It tracks fish species caught, gemstones mined, crops harvested, jewels crafted, tools obtained, and various other items discovered throughout gameplay. Completing sections of the log unlocks exclusive furniture rewards, and filling the entire log may unlock a hidden bonus reward.
The Collection Log is accessed by clicking the book-shaped icon located just below the Property notification board on the right side of the screen during gameplay. The log is a Family Collection Log, meaning it tracks items collected by any member of the household — not just the currently controlled Zoi. If one family member catches a rare fish and another mines a rare gem, both entries appear in the same shared log.
The log opens to a visual grid showing silhouettes for undiscovered items and full-color icons for collected ones. Each entry includes the item’s name, a brief description, and sometimes hints about where or how to find it.
The Collection Log is divided into six main categories, each tracking a different type of collectible:
The Fishing section tracks every fish species caught by any household member. Fish are divided into freshwater and saltwater categories, with species further organized by the location and rod tier required to catch them. The full fish catalog spans species available in Dowon (Harang River Park), Bliss Bay (Sunset Bay and North Beach), and Cahaya (beach, boat, and park fishing spots).
Completing the fishing section requires visiting all three regions, upgrading to a Jewel-tier fishing rod, and using Advanced Bait to improve odds on rare catches like the Whale Shark and Zebra Shark. Non-fish items like Garbage and the Biko Doll may also have collection entries. See the full Fishing article for a complete species list.
The Farming section tracks all crop varieties harvested by the household. Players place farming plots in Build Mode and use tools like rakes and watering cans to cultivate land. Each crop type has an ideal temperature for optimal growth, and there are six variants of each crop to discover (for example, six types of tomato ranging in quality). Stocking up on seeds when prices are low at the agriculture shop and experimenting with growing conditions helps fill out this section.
A notable farming secret: using a Jewel Watering Can on crops may yield special gem-infused crop variants that count as separate entries in the log. This creates a crossover between the Farming and Mining collection paths.
The Mining section tracks every raw gemstone and mineral collected through mining. Entries are organized by mineral family — Mica, Sodalite, Crystal, and precious stones — and include location-specific gems like Green Mica (Dowon only) and Larimar (underwater sandpiles only). Upgrading pickaxe tiers progressively unlocks access to rarer gemstone entries.
The mining section is considered one of the harder categories to complete due to gems like Pink Diamond, which has an extremely low drop rate even with a Diamond Pickaxe. Maintaining a "Feeling Concentrated" mood state improves rare gem discovery rates.
Separate from raw gemstones, the Jewels section tracks polished and cut jewels created at a Crafting Table. Raw gemstones from mining are refined into finished jewels through the Handiwork skill. Higher Handiwork skill levels unlock more advanced cutting techniques, producing different jewel qualities and styles that each have their own collection entries.
Completing the Jewels section requires both collecting a wide variety of raw gemstones and leveling the Handiwork skill high enough to perform all available cutting methods.
The Tools section tracks the four primary gathering tools and their tier variants:
Rake — used for farming. Available in multiple material tiers.
Watering Can — used for farming and crop maintenance. Ranges from basic to Jewel quality.
Pickaxe — used for mining. Tiers range from Stone through Diamond.
Fishing Rod — used for fishing. Tiers range from Wooden through Jewel.
Tools can be purchased at the Farm Store in Cahaya or crafted at Crafting Tables using stone, twigs, and special gemstones. Each tier of each tool type has its own Collection Log entry, so obtaining every variant (Stone Pickaxe, Copper Pickaxe, Steel Pickaxe, Gold Pickaxe, Diamond Pickaxe, etc.) is required for full completion.
The Info section is a unique category that collects information gathered through conversations and social interactions rather than physical item gathering. As your Zois talk with other characters, learn about the world, and uncover story details, entries in the Info section fill in. This section encourages players to engage with the social side of inZOI alongside the gathering activities.
The Collection Log is not just a tracking system — completing sections actively rewards players:
Set completion rewards — filling out all entries within a specific subcategory (e.g., all freshwater fish, all mica-family gems) unlocks exclusive furniture items that cannot be obtained any other way. These are special decorative pieces for your Zoi’s home.
Category completion rewards — completing an entire main category (e.g., all of Fishing) unlocks additional rewards.
Full completion bonus — filling the entire Collection Log across all categories may unlock a hidden reward. The exact nature of this reward has not been fully disclosed, but community speculation suggests it may be a unique decorative item or cosmetic.
Rewards are automatically delivered to the household and can be placed through Build Mode. The exclusive furniture items tend to be thematically tied to the collection they came from — fishing-related furniture for completing fish sets, crystal-themed decorations for completing gem sets, and so on.
Since the Collection Log is family-wide, different household members can specialize in different gathering activities and all contribute to the same log. For example, one Zoi might focus on fishing while another concentrates on mining and a third handles farming. All of their collected items count toward a single shared log. This makes larger households naturally more efficient at filling the Collection Log, as they can cover more ground simultaneously.
Start with common entries first. Don’t burn out chasing rare items early. Fill in the easy entries across all categories to build momentum and unlock early set rewards.
Visit all three regions. Some items are region-exclusive. Dowon has Green Mica, Cahaya has underwater sandpiles for Larimar and Pearl, and each region has unique fishing spots.
Upgrade your tools progressively. Higher-tier tools (Jewel Fishing Rod, Diamond Pickaxe, Jewel Watering Can) unlock collection entries that lower-tier tools cannot access.
Use mood boosts for rare finds. The "Feeling Concentrated" mood state improves drop rates for rare gems like Diamond and Pink Diamond. Keep consumables on hand (donuts are a popular choice) to maintain concentration during grinding sessions.
Don’t neglect the Info category. Engage with NPC conversations and social interactions. The Info section fills passively through normal gameplay but can be specifically targeted by initiating conversations with a wide variety of characters.
Check the log regularly. The silhouette system shows you exactly what you’re missing. Use the descriptions and hints provided for undiscovered items to guide your next gathering session.
Use Advanced Bait for rare fish. The 5 Meow cost per cast is trivial compared to the time saved when hunting for the rarest fish species.
Assign household members to specialize. Since the log is family-wide, have different Zois focus on different gathering activities for maximum efficiency.
The Collection Log connects to nearly every gathering and crafting system in inZOI:
Fishing — populates the Fishing section with caught species
Mining and Gems — populates the Mining and Jewels sections
Gardening — populates the Farming section with harvested crops
Skills — Handiwork skill enables gem cutting for the Jewels section; Cooking skill ties into ingredient discovery
Shopping — tools and seeds can be purchased to accelerate collection progress
Snorkeling — required for underwater-exclusive collectibles like Larimar and Pearl
