Full article covering child life stage duration, elementary school, child-exclusive skills, values system, needs, activities, and age-up skill mapping
The Child life stage is one of the core life stages in inZOI. It lasts for 7 in-game days and represents the first stage where players can directly create a Zoi during character creation. Children attend elementary school, develop personality through the values system, and build four child-exclusive skills that carry over into adulthood.
While children cannot work or pursue romantic relationships, they have plenty to do. Between school attendance, homework, playing, exploring the world, and building friendships, the Child stage lays the foundation for everything that follows.
Children remain in this life stage for exactly 7 in-game days. After that period, they automatically age up to the Teenager stage. There is no way to extend or shorten this duration under normal gameplay conditions.
Children attend elementary school as part of their daily routine. School operates as a rabbit hole activity, meaning your Zoi leaves the lot and returns after the school day ends. While at school, children build skills passively and may trigger random events that affect their mood or relationships.
After returning home, children can complete homework assignments. Finishing homework on time provides small skill boosts and keeps the child's school performance on track.
Children have access to four unique skills that are only available during this life stage. Each of these skills caps at level 5. When a child ages up to the Teenager stage, any maxed child skill automatically provides a starting boost to the corresponding adult skill.
Child Skill | Max Level | Adult Skill Mapping |
|---|---|---|
Creativity | 5 | |
Motor Development | 5 | |
Responsibility | 5 | Various adult skills |
Social | 5 |
The Creativity skill develops through painting, drawing, and imaginative play. Motor Development improves through physical activities like running and playground interactions. Responsibility grows when children do homework, clean up, and help with chores. The Social skill increases through conversations, group play, and building friendships with other Zois.
Because these skills max out at level 5, the window to develop them is limited. Players who want to give their Zoi the best start should prioritize skill-building activities throughout the 7-day childhood period.
The values system unlocks during the Child life stage. Values shape a Zoi's personality and influence their behavior, preferences, and emotional responses as they grow older. The choices a child makes (and the situations they encounter) begin defining which values become dominant.
Parents and household members can also influence a child's values through interactions. Encouraging certain behaviors or exposing the child to specific activities nudges their value development in particular directions.
Children have the same eight needs as adult Zois:
Hunger : Children need regular meals. They can eat food prepared by household members.
Hygiene : Bathing and washing hands keep this need satisfied.
Sleep : Children require a bed and a consistent sleep schedule.
Bathroom : Standard bathroom needs.
Fun : Play activities, toys, and entertainment fulfill this need.
Social : Interacting with family members and friends.
Recognition : Earning praise from parents and performing well at school.
Energy : Resting and avoiding overexertion.
Beyond school and skill-building, children can engage in a variety of activities:
Use smartphones for entertainment and social interaction
Play with toys and playground equipment
Explore the neighborhood and visit community lots
Complete homework assignments after school
Interact with family members through conversation, hugs, and play
Participate in random events that pop up during daily life
Build friendships with other children in the neighborhood
Focus on maxing all four child skills before aging up. The adult skill boosts are significant and save time later.
Keep homework completion consistent. Falling behind can affect the child's mood and school performance.
Pay attention to values development early. The personality traits that form during childhood stick with the Zoi for life.
Balance skill-building with fun activities. Neglecting the Fun need makes children unhappy and can slow skill progress.
Have parents interact frequently with the child to build strong family bonds and influence values positively.
