Initial version
The Island Getaway DLC introduces several new careers exclusive to Cahaya. All Cahaya careers operate as rabbit hole jobs, meaning your Zoi leaves for work and returns after their shift with periodic status updates. Some careers offer promotion paths while others remain single-rank positions.
Career | Description | Promotions |
|---|---|---|
Junior Lawyer | Legal work on the island | Yes |
Rookie Criminal | Island underworld activities | Yes |
Tour Guide Trainee | Guiding tourists around Cahaya's attractions | Yes |
Turtle Nestwatcher | Protecting and monitoring sea turtle nesting sites | Yes |
Encyclopedia Association Investigator | Researching and documenting island wildlife and culture | Yes |
Rookie Taxi Driver | Transporting passengers around the island | Yes |
Lotus Space Assistant | Working at a meditation and yoga center | Yes |
Farmer | Growing and harvesting crops on the main island | No |
Miner | Extracting minerals and gemstones from island deposits | No |
Farming in Cahaya lets your Zoi cultivate crops on the main island for sale at local shops. With enough progress and funds, it is possible to acquire ownership of the shop itself. Be aware that weather events like flooding can damage crops, so plan accordingly and consider insurance coverage for your farm.
Mining is an alternative livelihood on Cahaya. Construct a crafting table in your yard and craft pickaxes to begin resource gathering. Extracted minerals and gemstones can be cut and sold for profit. Unlike the mining and gem crafting available in Dowon and Bliss Bay, Cahaya mining is structured as a career rather than a purely hobby-based activity.
Several Cahaya careers are thematically unique to the island setting. The Turtle Nestwatcher career lets your Zoi protect endangered sea turtles, reflecting Cahaya's tropical ecosystem. The Encyclopedia Association Investigator career focuses on documenting island wildlife and culture. The Lotus Space Assistant position is based around the island's meditation and yoga facilities.
Farming and mining don't have promotion paths, but they provide steady income and can be paired with the Gardening and Handiwork skills.
Consider getting insurance to protect against crop damage from natural disasters.
Use the Pocket Market and phone apps to manage your career while on the island.
