This page collects what Paraglacial has publicly said about Fatekeeper's future, and only that. Everything below traces to a dated developer statement. Nothing here has shipped, and the studio has been explicit that its timings move when features are not ready, so treat every window as an intention rather than a commitment.
For what is actually in the game today, see Patch Notes.
Why There Was No Roadmap Before
For most of Early Access the developer deliberately withheld a public roadmap. The reasoning it gave was that a published schedule would lock the team into commitments during the period when player feedback was most likely to change its priorities. That position softened in August 2026, when the team published a rest-of-year outlook with two milestones. It is still not a dated roadmap in the usual sense: there are seasons, not calendar dates.
Announced Milestones
Milestone | Target | Headline Contents |
|---|---|---|
First larger patch | Autumn 2026 | Controller support, first-draft localization, full sound rework |
First big content patch | Winter 2026 | New campaign areas and enemies, 1 to 2 hours of extra gameplay, first iteration of Arena Mode |
Next small patch | Delayed, no window | Held back by an engine upgrade to version 5.8.1 |
The First Larger Patch
Targeted at autumn 2026. Three headline items were named.
Controller Support
The single most requested missing feature. The store page still carries no controller-support flag, and the July 2026 update notes had described it only as in active development. The August outlook attached it to this patch. No controller models, layouts, or remapping guarantees have been published. See Controls.
Localization
The developer described this as a first draft rather than a finished localization. English and German are handled in-house by the development team; the remaining languages go through the publisher's network of professional translators. The specific language list has not been published, and it is unclear whether any of them will carry audio rather than interface and subtitles only. See Languages and Localization.
Sound Rework
A full rework rather than an addition. The team says it will keep the existing music and voice acting, but add a substantial number of new music tracks and redo all sound effects, mixing and mastering from scratch. It frames the result as a major upgrade to the game's audio.
Difficulty System
Also in progress for this window: a proper difficulty system intended to let players configure the game to their own preference, which the developer hopes will additionally enable some special challenges. No difficulty tiers, sliders or modifiers have been described.
The First Big Content Patch
Targeted at winter 2026, and the first update aimed at the length complaint that has followed the game since launch. It is planned to add new campaign content with new areas and new enemies, worth one to two additional hours of gameplay.

Arena Mode
A separate mode from the campaign, planned to arrive in its first iteration alongside that content patch. The developer describes an intended meta progression link between the two: progressing through the campaign should benefit Arena Mode and vice versa. It was explicit that this is not meant to become a forced grind, calling the mode a pure-fun, no-strings-attached addition.
No arena rules, wave structure, rewards or unlocks have been published. This page will not describe how Arena Mode plays until it exists in a build.
Ongoing Work
Named as continuous rather than tied to either milestone:
Area | Announced Change |
|---|---|
A pass to make existing skills more impactful, with Elemental Fortress and Tremor named as examples, plus a first rework of the tree layout to make active abilities more accessible. | |
Ability assignment | Abilities will stop overwriting their matching elemental slot and become freely assignable, in the same way consumables are accessed through the belt today. |
Boss health bars are being added, expected to be toggleable in the game settings. | |
Status effects | An interface display for status effects on both the player and bosses, on top of the existing material indicators on the meshes, also expected to be toggleable. |
New enemy types in production, with the stated goal of much greater variety than the current build offers. | |
An upgrade to engine version 5.8.1, expected to delay the next small patch and to open up optimization work on the medium graphics preset in particular. | |
Items and spells | New items, skills and spells are described as a continuous addition across updates rather than a dated feature. |
On the Missing Story
The thin story content in the Early Access build is the most common complaint after length, and the developer addressed it directly in August 2026. Its position is that the scarcity is deliberate: implementing dialogue and cutscenes now would set parts of the game too firmly in place and make substantial later changes harder. It described this as part of a plan rather than an oversight.
As a stopgap, the team floated using its DevLog format itself to publish background lore and story, bridging the gap until more of it exists in the game. See Lore Overview for what the world already establishes.
