Paraglacial is a small studio of about a dozen people. Shipping on a single platform during Early Access keeps QA and patch cadence manageable, lets the team focus on the core loop, and uses Steam's built-in tooling for cloud saves, refunds, and patch delivery. Console certification cycles tend to slow down patch frequency, which is poorly suited to a steady Early Access cadence.
