Packs are carriable items in Crimson Desert that serve different purposes depending on their type. You will encounter peddler's packs, trade goods packs, and special packs like the Cuckoo Pack. This guide explains what each type is for and how to use them.
Pack Type | Purpose | How to Get |
|---|---|---|
Crafting ingredient for the Cuckoo Pack; can also be sold | Steal from NPCs or find in the world (e.g., tannery in Hernand Highlands) | |
Trade Goods (Packaged) | Sell at Trading Posts for profit | Purchase from merchants or find during exploration |
Trade Goods (Unpackaged) | Raw trade items that need packaging at a trading post before selling | Gathered, crafted, or looted |
Base for the Cuckoo Rocket Pack (Jetpack) | Crafted at Grimnir's workshop using a Peddler's Pack + Cuckoo Pot |
Peddler's packs are the most common pack type you will find. They appear as large bundles carried on the backs of NPCs or sitting on tables and shelves in shops and tanneries. Their primary use is as a crafting material for the Cuckoo Pack, which is the base item needed to eventually craft the Cuckoo Rocket Pack (jetpack) for Oongka.
The easiest way to get a peddler's pack is to steal one from the tannery in the Hernand Highlands, where several packs sit on tables. Put on your criminal mask before taking one. You can also find them on roads being carried by traveling merchants.
Trade packs are items used in the Wagon Trading system. You buy goods at one trading post and sell them at another for a profit. Packaged goods are ready to sell, while unpackaged goods need to be wrapped at a trading post first. The profit depends on supply and demand at each location.
The Cuckoo Pack is a special pack crafted at Grimnir's workshop. It is the base for the Cuckoo Rocket Pack, which functions as Oongka's jetpack. To craft it, you need a Peddler's Pack and a Cuckoo Pot. See the Jetpack article for the full crafting guide.
Do not sell peddler's packs if you plan to craft the jetpack later. Keep at least one.
Trade packs are heavy and slow you down. Use a wagon for long-distance trading rather than carrying packs on foot.
Packs found in the world respawn over time, so you can return to the same locations to gather more.
Stealing packs counts as a crime. Make sure to equip your mask and check that no NPCs are watching.
