Overview
The Gigantified Titan is the massive third-phase form of Titan, the God of Thunder, in Crimson Desert. After players deplete Titan's health through two standard combat phases, he transforms into a towering colossus that dwarfs the player character. This transformation completely changes the fight's mechanics; conventional attacks to his body are ineffective, and players must instead target specific vulnerable points on his exposed skin to deal any damage at all.
The encounter takes place at Windsong Peaks on the Scorched Mountain in the Pailune region. Players reach this fight by completing the Ancient Barrier faction quest from the Stjar Clan in Skallcove, which involves solving a lightning puzzle by activating and rotating four Coil Pillars across the peaks.
Despite functioning as Phase 3 of the Titan encounter, the Gigantified Titan is tracked as a separate boss entry in the game's internal database with its own stat block. If you die during this phase, the game allows you to retry directly from the Gigantified Titan transformation rather than forcing you to redo the earlier phases.

Base Stats
The Gigantified Titan possesses a substantial stat block that reflects its role as the climactic phase of the Titan encounter. Its high HP pool and strong Attack rating make it a formidable opponent, especially since conventional hits to armored sections deal zero damage.

Equipment
The Gigantified Titan wields and wears the following equipment. These items define its visual profile during the encounter: the massive spear used for overhead slams, the war mask obscuring its face, and the leather armor covering most of its body. The exposed skin on the sides of its hands is one of the few unarmored sections, which is why that area is the primary damage target during the ground strategy.

Skills
The Gigantified Titan uses a passive skill set categorized as Boss Large Human, which governs its behavior as a colossal humanoid boss. This passive determines the tempo and patterns of its attack sequences, including the signature fist slam that creates the window for both the ground and climbing strategies.
Skill | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
Boss Large Human | PASSIVE | Core boss behavior set for large humanoid encounters. Governs attack patterns, slam timing, and vulnerability windows. |
How to Unlock the Encounter
The Gigantified Titan is not a standalone encounter that you stumble across in the open world. It is the final phase of the Titan boss fight, which itself is locked behind a chain of faction quests in the Pailune region.
Quest Prerequisites
Complete enough Pailune Faction Quests to unlock "The Jackal's Scheme" from the Stjar Clan in Skallcove.
Complete "The Jackal's Scheme" to unlock "The Clue for Chaos" from the same quest giver.
Start "The Clue for Chaos," which leads into the Ancient Barrier quest at Windsong Peaks.
Solve the Ancient Barrier lightning puzzle by activating and rotating four Coil Pillars to chain lightning across the peaks.
After the puzzle is complete, the path to Titan opens. Defeat Titan's Phase 1 and Phase 2 to trigger the Gigantified transformation.
The lightning puzzle itself can be disorienting due to lightning strikes and rainstorms obscuring visibility. A helpful approach is to orient yourself by the beams of light the pillars emit. If a beam is shooting into empty space rather than connecting to the next pillar, that specific lever needs to be rotated.
Attack Patterns
The Gigantified Titan's attack patterns are different from the two earlier phases of the fight. As a colossal enemy, its movements are slower but cover enormous areas. The key to the encounter is recognizing the fist slam, which creates the only reliable openings for dealing damage.
Attack | Description | How to Counter |
|---|---|---|
Spear Sweep | The Gigantified Titan sweeps its massive spear across the arena in a wide horizontal arc. The attack covers a large area and deals heavy damage on contact. | Roll sideways or toward the Titan when you see the spear wind up. The sweep has a wide horizontal hitbox but limited vertical coverage, so being close to its feet can help you avoid it. |
Overhead Spear Slam | Raises the giant spear high before driving it straight down into the ground. The point of impact creates a small shockwave. | Dodge sideways when you see the spear raised above its head. Do not try to block this attack, as the damage will overwhelm your stamina. |
Fist Slam | The Titan slams one fist onto the ground and holds it there briefly. This is the critical attack that creates your damage window. The armored side of the fist is invulnerable, but the opposite side with exposed skin is vulnerable to damage. | Do not dodge away. Instead, move around the fist to the side with exposed skin and begin attacking. This is your primary damage opportunity. It is also the moment where the climbing strategy becomes available. |
Foot Stomp | If you linger too close to the Titan's feet for an extended period, it will raise one foot and stomp down. The area of effect is roughly circular around the impact point. | Roll away immediately when you see the foot lifting. Avoid staying directly beneath the Titan for too long between fist slams. |
Lightning Barrage | Channels lightning energy across the arena, causing multiple lightning strikes to hit the ground in rapid succession. Glowing blue patches on the ground indicate where each bolt will land. | Watch the ground for glowing blue indicators and dodge between the safe zones. Spam dodge if necessary and use healing items to recover if you take a hit. This attack carries over from the earlier Titan phases. |
Strategy
Ground Strategy (Recommended)
The ground strategy is the safer and more reliable approach, especially given that the climbing mechanic can be technically inconsistent. The entire strategy revolves around the fist slam attack and punishing the exposed skin on the Titan's hand.
Keep your distance and dodge the Gigantified Titan's spear sweeps and overhead slams. Do not try to deal damage during these attacks.
Wait for the fist slam. When the Titan drives its fist into the ground, move quickly around the armored side of the fist to reach the opposite side where the skin is exposed.
Attack the exposed skin with R2 heavy attacks and Turning Slash. These are the only attacks that deal meaningful damage to the vulnerable flesh. Standard light attacks work but deal considerably less damage per hit.
Continue attacking until the Titan pulls its fist back. Retreat to a safe distance and prepare to dodge the next sequence of attacks.
Repeat this cycle. After enough cumulative damage to the exposed hand, the Gigantified Titan will become stunned, collapsing briefly. Use this stun window to land several free hits without needing to worry about incoming attacks.
Continue the fist slam cycle until the boss is defeated.
Patience is essential with this strategy. Each fist slam window provides only a few seconds of safe damage time. Rushing in during spear attacks or trying to squeeze in extra hits as the fist rises will result in taking unnecessary damage. The fight is a war of attrition, but the damage windows are consistent and predictable.
Climbing Strategy (High Risk, High Reward)
An alternative approach allows you to end the fight almost immediately by exploiting a weak spot on the back of the Titan's neck. However, the climbing mechanic is known to be technically unreliable, and failed attempts leave you vulnerable. Use this method if you are confident in the platforming controls or if you want to end the fight quickly.
Wait for the fist slam, just as in the ground strategy.
Instead of attacking the exposed skin, climb onto the Titan's gauntlet while its fist is on the ground. Hold R2 to grip and avoid being thrown off.
Once the Titan raises its arm back into the air, wait for the arm to stabilize. Then move toward its left arm and grip it.
Use Jump combined with Triple Force Palm and Flight to propel yourself upward and reach the Titan's back.
On the back of the Titan's neck, you will find a weak spot covered in chains. Attack the chains to break them.
Once the chains are broken, stab the exposed weak spot. This ends the fight immediately regardless of the Titan's remaining HP.
The climbing approach is a one-shot kill if executed correctly, but the platforming can be unreliable. If you fall off partway through, you will take fall damage and need to wait for another fist slam cycle to try again. Many players report that the climbing controls feel inconsistent, so the ground strategy is generally recommended unless you are specifically aiming for a fast kill.
Recommended Preparation
Gear and Stats
By the time you reach the Gigantified Titan, you should have access to Tier 6 or higher armor with Abyss Cores that provide Damage Reduction. Defense is critical for surviving the spear sweeps and overhead slams, as a single hit from either can kill an underprepared character. High Stamina is equally important, since constant dodging is necessary to stay alive between fist slam windows.
Consumables
Bring a generous supply of healing items. Palmar Pills are essential for Spirit regeneration, allowing you to maintain your dodge capacity and use special attacks during damage windows. Stock Meat Skewers or Braised Meat for health recovery between attack cycles. Expect to use several meals over the course of the fight, as even with strong armor, chip damage from near-misses adds up.
Skills
For the ground strategy, Turning Slash is the single most effective skill for punishing the exposed hand during fist slam windows. Its high damage output and quick execution make it ideal for the short vulnerability windows. For the climbing strategy, make sure you have Triple Force Palm and Flight equipped, as these are required to reach the Titan's back from its arm.
Rewards
Defeating the Gigantified Titan completes the full Titan encounter and rewards the player with two notable pieces of equipment.
Reward | Type | Details |
|---|---|---|
Two-Handed Spear (Legendary) | A massive spear once wielded by Titan, the God of Lightning. The spearhead is shaped like a bolt striking down and remains razor sharp. Features 5 Abyss Gear Slots and the Lightning God's Affliction passive, which calls down lightning on any enemy you successfully parry with L1. | |
Upperbody Armor | Armor enhanced with a kuku pot that accumulates power when taking lightning damage, triggering an explosive counterattack once its limit is reached. Has natural Lightning Resistance, making it particularly effective against lightning-element enemies. Cannot be upgraded, but its unique passive makes it situationally valuable. |
Comparison to Standard Titan
The Gigantified Titan is a complete departure from the standard Titan fight in both scale and mechanics. The table below summarizes the key differences between the two forms.
Aspect | Titan (Phase 1 and 2) | Gigantified Titan (Phase 3) |
|---|---|---|
Scale | Human-sized combatant | Towering colossus that dwarfs the player |
Damage Method | Direct melee combat; attack any part of the body | Must target exposed skin on hands or the neck weak spot |
Primary Attacks | Spear thrusts, sweeps, lightning channeling | Spear sweeps, overhead slams, fist slams, foot stomps |
Dodge-and-counter combat loop | Fist slam vulnerability windows; optional climbing to neck weak spot | |
Instant Kill Option | None | Yes; breaking neck chains and stabbing the weak spot ends the fight |
Retry Checkpoint | Restarts from Phase 1 | Restarts from Phase 3 (Gigantified form) on death |
Knockout | Not tracked separately | 750 |
Lore
Titan is known as the God of Thunder, an ancient deity that has slumbered at Windsong Peaks since long before the events of the game. The Stjar Clan's faction questline reveals the existence of a broken ancient lightning device that, once repaired and activated, awakens Titan from its dormancy. The Gigantified form appears to represent Titan's true divine stature, a transformation that occurs when the god is pushed to its limits during combat.
The equipment Titan carries, particularly Titan's Spear in its gigantified variant (Titan's Giant Spear), suggests a warrior deity that once fought in massive conflicts. The Reckoning spear, the reward for defeating Titan, is described as the god's original weapon with a spearhead shaped like a lightning bolt. The chains covering the weak spot on the back of the Titan's neck may hint at an ancient binding or seal that once contained the god's full power.
Tips
The ground strategy is more reliable than climbing. Unless you are speedrunning or specifically want the instant kill, stick to attacking the exposed hand during fist slams.
If you die during the Gigantified Titan phase, select Retry to restart from Phase 3. You do not need to redo the earlier Titan phases.
Watch for the blue glow on the ground during lightning barrages. The indicators appear a moment before the bolts land, giving you just enough time to dodge between them.
Do not linger directly beneath the Titan's feet. The foot stomp attack triggers when you stay too close for too long, and it is difficult to dodge at close range.
For the climbing strategy, wait until the arm fully stabilizes before trying to move along it. Attempting to traverse the arm while it is still swinging will usually throw you off.
R2 heavy attacks and Turning Slash deal the most damage to the exposed hand. Prioritize these over light attack combos during the limited vulnerability windows.
Bring at least 20 healing items. The fight is a war of attrition, and even skilled players will take hits over the course of multiple fist slam cycles.
The Reckoning spear's Lightning God's Affliction passive is extremely powerful for the rest of the game. Parrying any enemy with L1 will call down a lightning bolt, making it one of the best two-handed spear options available.
Trivia
The Gigantified Titan is one of the few bosses in Crimson Desert that has a climbing mechanic, allowing players to physically scale the boss's body to reach a weak spot.
The Ancient Barrier lightning puzzle that precedes the fight is considered one of the more frustrating puzzles in the game due to poor visibility from rain and lightning strikes. Using the pillar light beams as guides makes it more manageable.
Despite being classified as a World Boss in the game's database, the Gigantified Titan is encountered exclusively through the Stjar Clan faction questline and does not spawn in the open world independently.
The Lightning Bolt Plate Armor reward cannot be upgraded, which limits its long-term viability. However, its high natural Lightning Resistance makes it the best armor choice when facing other lightning-element enemies.
