Refined Palmar Pill Substitute Role

Bear's Gallbladder is one of the three ingredients accepted in the third slot of the Refined Palmar Pill recipe, alongside Ginseng and longhorn (dropped by the Young White-Striped Longhorn and adult deer variants). All three substitutes produce an identical pill, so the only question is which one is easier to farm for the player's current chapter.

Note on pronunciation: many community video transcripts mishear this item as "Bare Ghoul Bladder" or similar. The in-game item is Bear's Gallbladder, dropped by field dressing bears in the wild zones.

Substitute Alternatives

• Longhorn is the fastest source because the fast-travel point west of Scholar Stone Institute respawns the deer pack each warp with no loading screen. Best choice for bulk refined pill stockpiling.

• Ginseng requires stealth gardening inside Scholar Stone Institute or a Pailune merchant purchase after Chapter 9 reconstruction, so it is the slowest of the three in most playthroughs.

• Bear's Gallbladder sits in the middle: one gallbladder per bear, bears do not have a fast-travel reset loop, but the drops arrive steadily during normal exploration and scale well if the player is already hunting bears for other material paths.

Refined Pill Farming Notes

One Bear's Gallbladder covers one Refined Palmar Pill, so every bear kill produces a single revive's worth of the third ingredient. Pairing bear hunts with Palmar Leaf and Palmar Beetle farming across the DPJ three-spot loop covers all four ingredients across a single session, with water topped up from the grocery vendors or the well north of Hernand.
