Patch Notes: June 2026
October 6, 2026 at 11:57 PM
Initial version (2026-10-06)
June 2026 brought four update notes to the Korean and Taiwanese service of AION 2, on June 4 (a Thursday), June 10, June 17 and June 24. The month added a Normal difficulty to the Chalice of Muspel, reworked the newest Arcana sets, folded the three memberships into the single Kwairing Express Membership, launched the fromis_9 collaboration and the Abyss Rift Zone event, and made Combat Power from weapons and passives equal across classes, while a planned balance patch was moved to July 1. These notes describe the Korean and Taiwanese service only; the global service launched separately on October 5, 2026 and is not covered by them. For the wider timeline, see Update History.
Respawn points in the Corroded Decontamination Facility changed. Once past the toxic gas zone in the Waste Disposal Zone (폐기물 처리구역; provisional), a default respawn after death puts you at the gas zone's exit; once past the poison zone in the Contamination Residue Site (오염 잔류지; provisional), you respawn just before the poison zone.
The number of Unique Arcana per stage in the Mirror of Scarlet Desire went up.
Fusing Punishing Overture, Protected Soul and Indomitable Dedication Arcana now allows four additional effects to be set.
The Grail and Scales parts of those sets can be fused with Kina and Splendent Noble Crystal (빛나는 고결한 결정; provisional).
Fragment: Splendent Noble Crystal (Bound) drops in the Mirror of Scarlet Desire and converts into Splendent Noble Crystal (Bound) through Material Conversion.
Rare and Epic Arcana were removed from the Mirror of Scarlet Desire Odyle Energy rewards and replaced with Lower and Intermediate Training Arcana.
Splendent Noble Crystal (Bound) and Noble Crystal (Bound) can be converted into each other, and Fragment: Splendent Noble Crystal (Bound) can be converted into Noble Crystal (Bound).
Class | Skill | Change |
|---|---|---|
Murderous Burst | Fixed its debuff being replaced by a lower-level version. | |

Ensnaring Trap (결박의 덫) | With specialization 2, the description now says some buffs cannot be removed. | |
Hibernation | Fixed Remove Hibernation not moving you backward when used under a status effect with specialization 4. | |
Command: Proxy | With specialization 4, the description now says HP instead of Constitution, and the HP recovery figure was corrected. |
A server rematch reset Artifact Siege and the Abyss Corridor. The 21 West and East pairings were split into groups A, B and C of seven each. Group A starts the Artifact Siege at 10:00 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Abyss boss event at 10:30 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Guardian Lord Nahma at 10:00 PM on Fridays and Sundays; group B starts each 5 minutes later and group C 10 minutes later.
Event (provisional names) | Period | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
Daeva's Energy Charge (데바의 에너지 충전) | June 4 after maintenance to June 17 before maintenance | A Material Conversion recipe turning 300,000 unbound Kina into 1 Odyle Energy (Bound); 16 per server per week plus 4 more per character. Only unbound Kina can be used. |
200th Day Celebration (200일 기념 이벤트) | June 4 after maintenance to July 1 before maintenance | In Shop, Event: Star of 200 Days (Appearance: Necklace) (Bound) (200일의 주인공) for 200 Kina (1 per server) or 300 Quna (1 per character); a character that buys the Kina version cannot also buy the Quna version. 200th Day Fireworks (Bound), 20 for 200 Kina, twice per server. |
Azure Breath Island: fixed the sleeping grass (수면풀) not being visible.
Hall of Illusion: fixed Nathara's clones sometimes not acting in unison during the clone pattern.
Mirror of Scarlet Desire: one of Robstino's skills can now be avoided with the Assassin's Evasion Stance, and its attack-area telegraph no longer looks wrong.
Corroded Decontamination Facility: Black Blood Blatt's status effects now clear when it dies; Terminator Bargott's projectile effects display properly; its Bargott Blows It All Up (바고트, 다 터뜨린다!) pattern no longer ends abnormally if the player marked number 1 dies.
Chalice of Muspel, Iscariel: fixed instant-death damage in the Two-Colour Judgment and Harsh Two-Colour Judgment (이색의 심판, 가혹한 이색의 심판) patterns applying even when weapon safe zones did not overlap; the instant death in Guard of the Sworn (결사의 수호) can no longer be avoided with Evasion Stance; its portals no longer shoot at Spiritmaster spirits.
Chalice of Muspel, Kaldrix: fixed skill order and actions going wrong when the targeted player moved far away; the ring effect on the boss in the Blazing Order (타오르는 질서) pattern is easier to see, and the hit area of the Servants of Kaldrix (칼드릭스의 종복) it summons is now shown.
Fixed some season missions not completing from PvP and hunting in the new Abyss area.
Obtaining the Liberator's Brooch (해방자의 브로치; provisional) or the Kaldrix Brooch from crafting or drops no longer sends a server broadcast.
A Normal difficulty was added to the Chalice of Muspel.
The Sanctuary can now be retried while a run is in progress, except during combat.
Sync Stone (Hero) (Bound) from the Odyle Energy Cube rose from 1 to 2.
Only equipment bound to the crafting character can now be used as a Succession Crafting material.
Titles with a visual design were added. They can be previewed in the equipped list and title info tabs, show on the nameplate and in the character info of the HUD system menu, and are visible in other players' character info. Settings, Graphics, Camera and Effects, Other Effects controls whether the design effect shows on nameplates. See Achievements and Titles.
Customization lighting gained coloured lights, and the light position can be moved to see the character under different lighting.
Recovery now also covers items extracted by mistake and items used by mistake in Soul Tuning (영혼 조율; provisional), Sync Stones included. Each kind can be recovered once a year.
Only Unique-grade or higher extracted items can be recovered; lower grades do not appear in the list.
Recovering an extracted item takes back the Enhancement Stones and Abyss Points the extraction gave. Kina spent on extraction is returned as Bound Kina. Appearances gained from extraction are not taken back, and their collection effects stay.
Recovering an item used in Soul Tuning does not change the stats already applied to the tuned item.
A recipe was added to convert Daevanion Crystal: Yustiel (Bound) into Daevanion Crystal: Marchutan (Bound).

Raise the First Chalice (extended) | May 27 after maintenance until the 20th force clears | Extended to the first 20 forces to clear the Chalice of Muspel, timed by the death of Scourge Kaldrix. With Smart Combat Sound Correction on (Settings, Audio, Advanced, Combat Sound), the current combat sound state is shown.

Pattern names are provisional.

Healing skill tooltips now include the healing amplification stat in the shown amount; actual healing is unchanged.
Arena of Cooperation: fixed cursor toggle and mouse drag not working while spectating after death.
The wing enhancement window no longer shows the wing preset button.
The Advanced Succession help tooltip now shows how levels carry over: Unique +1 to +15 becomes the same level on Hero gear, and Unique breakthrough stages 1 to 5 become Hero +16 to +20.
The Arena and Battlefield exchange shops now stock the same Praetorian Captain weapons and guards as the Abyss shop.
Characters whose faction side changed with the June 4 Abyss matching and who then bought Abyss Directives beyond the weekly limit have their Directive shop purchase count reduced by the excess from 05:00 on June 10 to 05:00 on June 17.
The note was corrected twice after release: on June 17 to fix the Spark of Resurrection purchase limit, and on June 25 to fix the succession materials listed for the Corroded Afterimage Bracelet. The figures below are the corrected ones.

The weekly challenge missions Let's Go Catch Stars (별 따러 가세) and Welcoming the Sprouts (푸릇푸릇 새싹 맞이) had some medal types and reward amounts raised. Names are provisional.

The Kaldrix Brooch recipe under Material Conversion, Equipment now needs 1 Gear Change Voucher: Kaldrix (Bound) instead of 2.
A new recipe under Material Conversion, Equipment makes the Corroded Afterimage Bracelet (침식된 잔영의 팔찌; provisional) from a Gear Change Voucher: Bargott (Bound) and Kina.
The Corroded Afterimage Bracelet can also be made with guaranteed succession under Crafting, Succession Crafting, Handicraft, using a Transfer Stone: Accessory (Hero) (Bound) and a Ludra's Bracelet as the succession materials.
fromis_9 stages were set up in Verteron and Altgard. A player who owns the emote fromis_9 LIKE YOU BETTER Highlight 2 can start a performance from the centre of the stage, which plays stage effects and music.
Others can join without owning the emote, up to 5 performers including the starter; once a performance ends a new one can start. On the stage, Highlight 2 can only be used by starting or joining a performance.
A new Event volume slider (Settings, Audio, Volume, Event) controls event and special content sounds, including the stage.
Contribution built on Dimensional Cores and bosses during PvP near them was increased.
The Abyss Rift Zone event was added: factions compete for points by killing bosses that appear over time. It opens at 10:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on matching group, with an entry icon beside the minimap and entry through the Abyss window.
Entry requires character level 45 and item level 3,000, with up to 400 players per faction. It does not affect Abyss season missions or rankings.
When a Rift Zone boss dies, the race that landed the final blow is rewarded according to each class's contribution ranking. NCsoft plans to expand it to all-server matching with multiple channels.
A server rematch reset Artifact Siege and the Abyss Corridor. Groups A, B and C of seven pairings each run the Rift Zone at 10:00, 10:05 and 10:10 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Artifact Siege at 10:00, 10:05 and 10:10 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Abyss boss at 10:30, 10:35 and 10:40 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Guardian Lord Nahma at 10:00, 10:05 and 10:10 PM on Fridays and Sundays.
NCsoft described the balance direction ahead of the coming Season 4: these changes are part of narrowing performance gaps between classes and will continue based on play data. Planned next steps were fixing Combat Power differences caused by class weapons and passive skills, raising the attack cap, and adjusting party synergy effects so that fewer parties depend on specific class combinations.
