Leveling efficiently in Roco Kingdom: World requires understanding which activities give the most experience at each stage of the game. The most common mistake new players make is spending too much time on side quests and ignoring the main story, which provides far more XP per hour than any other activity. This guide lays out the optimal progression path from Lv1 to Lv100 and beyond.
Not all activities provide equal experience. The following table ranks the major XP sources in the game from highest to lowest yield.
XP Source | Relative Yield | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Main Story Quests | Highest | By far the largest individual XP rewards. Always prioritize the main story over side content. |
Pokedex Unlocks | Very High | Capturing a new spirit species for the first time grants significant player XP. This is a core leveling method at all stages. |
High | Repeatable daily activity with strong XP rewards. Complete all available runs each day. | |
Wild Spirit Battles | Moderate | Grinding same-type wild spirits on maps. More effective in the Lv10-20 range than later stages. |
Spirit Leader Bosses | Moderate | Weekly boss fights (Wing King, Parasus, etc.). Good XP but limited in frequency. |
Side Quests | Low | Substantially less XP than main quests. Complete for rewards and lore, but do not grind them for leveling. |
Focus entirely on the main story quests. The introductory questline guides the player through the basics and provides generous XP. During this phase, take a detour to Clear Wind Mountain and capture 9 spirits to fill out the early Pokedex. Each new capture grants a noticeable XP boost. Do not spend time grinding wild battles at this stage; story quests are far more efficient.
Continue the main story as far as it will go. When story quests are gated by level requirements, supplement with wild spirit grinding. Target same-type wild spirits on the current map for efficient battles. Consume any XP potions accumulated from earlier rewards. Keep capturing new spirit species whenever possible.
The main story questline accelerates in this range, offering some of the best XP-per-quest rewards in the entire game. Prioritize story completion above all else. When not actively questing, farm Strange Beast Flora daily for supplemental XP and materials. Side quests in this range give much less XP than main quests; treat them as secondary.
Starting around Lv30, Pokedex collection becomes the core leveling method. Each new spirit species captured grants substantial player XP, and the world opens up with access to more regions and habitat types. Actively seek out spirits you have not yet captured. Combine this with daily Strange Beast Flora runs and any remaining main story quests.
At Lv50, the Territory Trial becomes available. This endgame content provides valuable materials needed for super evolution and high-tier equipment. Continue Pokedex completion and daily activities while running Territory Trial for material accumulation.
Reaching Lv100 unlocks super evolution for eligible spirits. Super evolution requires specific materials and, in some cases, visiting a particular location (e.g., the Vesuvius Mantle Fire Furnace for Fire God). Begin gathering evolution materials well before reaching Lv100 so the transition is smooth.
Unlocking mounts significantly speeds up leveling by reducing travel time between quests and spirit habitats.
Mount | Unlock Level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Sound Speed Dog | Lv26 | First available ground mount. Provides a substantial speed boost for overland travel. |
Storm Bird | Lv30 | First available flying mount. Allows aerial travel, bypassing terrain obstacles and drastically cutting travel time. |
Prioritize reaching Lv26 and Lv30 to unlock these mounts. The travel speed increase makes every subsequent activity faster.
Level Range | Primary Strategy | Secondary Activities |
|---|---|---|
Lv1-10 | Main story quests | Capture 9 spirits at Clear Wind Mountain |
Lv10-20 | Main story + wild spirit grinding | XP potions, Pokedex captures |
Lv20-30 | Main story (highest XP per quest) | Strange Beast Flora daily runs |
Lv30-50 | Pokedex collection (core XP) | Daily activities, remaining story quests |
Lv50-100 | Pokedex + daily activities | Territory Trial for materials |
Lv100 | Endgame material farming |
Always prioritize main story quests for XP. They provide significantly more experience than side quests.
Carry Gulu Balls at all times. Capturing new spirit species is one of the best XP sources at every level range.
Unlock the Sound Speed Dog mount at Lv26 and the Storm Bird at Lv30 as soon as possible. Faster travel means faster leveling.
Do not neglect Strange Beast Flora daily runs. The XP and materials compound significantly over time.
Start farming super evolution materials at Lv50 through Territory Trial. Waiting until Lv100 to start collecting will delay your progress.
