Overview
Decorative Books are small book and scroll props for desks and shelves. Decorative Books are small surface-placed props that fill a desk, shelf, or reading nook. They are craft-cheap and fit both a captain's quarters and a scholar's workshop aesthetic.

Book decorations snap to flat surfaces such as Tables, Shelves, Decorative Tables, and Wardrobes. They are small-footprint items, so several can be combined on the same surface.
Individual pieces range from a single Book to a multi-volume Book Set, plus Open Book, Open Scroll, and Scrolls variants. Every variant in this sub-category shares the same Books comfort bonus, so placement variety is purely visual.
Combine decorative books with a nearby Lamp or Candlestick, an Elegant Desk or Decorative Table, and a Luxurious Bookcase to build a library corner.
Comfort Value
Every piece in this set grants the same +1 Books Comfort, and that bonus is counted once for the Books category no matter how many volumes you place. Stacking five Hardwood book sets on one shelf looks fuller but adds no extra Comfort. To raise your total, combine Books with other unique categories such as a Lamp, a clock, or a globe. Comfort drives the Rested buff, which boosts Stamina regeneration and lengthens by one minute per Comfort Level, so each distinct decoration category is worth one slot. See Comfort System for the scoring rules.
Material cost is light: the single Book, Open Book, Open Scroll, Scrolls, Row of Books, and Stack of Books variants each cost 3 Wood, while the five numbered Book Sets each cost 3 Hardwood. All share a 1,500 Max Health and a one second build time.
Tips
Stack and cluster several books on one Table to create a library scene. Their small footprint means multiple pieces rarely collide.
Open Scroll pieces work well on desks next to a Grandfather Clock or Decorative Globe.
Comfort +1 bonuses in a given decoration sub-category do not stack. Placing a second piece of the same sub-category does not add more comfort, it only changes the aesthetic.
All variants snap to flat surfaces. Pair them on a Decorative Tables or Shelves piece, add a Luxurious Bookcase behind them, and the corner reads as a captain's study.
Because the bonus tops out at one per category, mix Books with a Grandfather Clock and a Decorative Globe rather than doubling up on books, if Comfort score is the goal.
